Good story.

I really liked this story, it is the first drama i've seen with this kind of story. It's about a unfair school system and a group of students trying to fight for equal rights. A few parts of this drama looked a bit amateuristic, but overall it was good. There was a chokin scene in ep 3 and that was done very bad.

The visuals and music were good.

The acting of Mewnick, Mond and Music was very good, the rest of the ast was ok, but could use some more lessons in acting.

It's worth the watch, but i don't think i will watch it a second time.

An inspiring story we all need today

What a very beautiful and inspiring story.

«My Troublesome Star» («금쪽같은 내스타») is a rare gem in the K-drama industry. It is not your typical Korean TV series where they do every genre in a single show and end up with so many plots, no one can agree what it is mainly about, it's a well-written drama that fires up our feel-good emotions as well as inspire us to fight for our dreams.

If you are feeling down and the future looks dark, give «My Troublesome Star» a try. You will laugh. You will cry. It will resonate. It will give you hope to once again shine.

My word

Firstly I liked this drama like it was amazing..The story was amazing and First I thought lu sinan was the villain but in the last eps I learned that he did the good thing..we cannot judge First I wld say...The story I liked a lot it was suspense, murder, romantic and thriller and the power of women and also perspective of lu sinan and lu siyu was amazing honest and loyal...I also thought jiang lin as an enemy but in end he also was on good side the whole time but in a different way!! so the story was amazing and I will rewatch I wld say...And mostly special appearance of Mr.Fein ane Mrs.Fein aka lethal man cast was the best appearance too and as of Lu sinan role...I wld rate the drama 10/10..

Cute!

I must be honest, the first episode didn't quite reel me in, but after the second episode i got more invested. It really had to grow on me, but later on i found myself looking foreward to each new episode.
It's a simple story, but a nice one, very sweet and cute. About being afraid of happiness and dissapointment and learning to trust your heart.
The music and visuals are good.

It was well acted, the dynamics, chemistry and kiss between the leads was good.

I think i will watch it again in the future.

Riveting, Cinematically Beautiful, Marred by Weak Ending

This was supposed to be a romance drama but instead of focusing more on the couple and the people and circumstances surrounding them, so much graphic violence was depicted that it took away the essence of the drama as a romance so that I could not enjoy the beautiful love story of Jang Hyeon and Gil Chae. Yes, it was a turbulent time for the Joseon people and they suffered greatly and I get that they were subjected to horrific ordeals but repetitive scenes of violence were not necessary. The viewers get it after one or two of them.

Sadly, in my own personal opinion (please don't go after me on this), there was no chemistry between Namkong Min and Ahn Eun Jin. AEJ is a beautiful actress and did a good job in portraying GC but she's far too young looking for this role. I get it she's 34 years old but she looked like a 15 year old teen-ager still with traces of baby fat on her cheeks. When NM embraced her, it was like he's embracing his baby sister and I cringed on the kissing scenes. They felt to me, more like well executed choreography and did not stir my emotions. It was critical that production chose the leads with explosive chemistry since this was a romance story. For example, the likes of the recent drama Tempest where the chemistry between Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won was over the top hot that made viewers swoon including me who watched the episodes repeatedly. That kind of chemistry is the most important ingredient in order for this drama to be one of the best historical dramas of all time.

There were pieces of the story that was lacking like why the King hated the Prince. Was it really the concubine who influenced and poisoned the king's mind against his son or the king was actually crazy with paranoid delusions of his son taking over the throne? The amnesia angle was acceptable at first, the the second was just ridiculous. I would have appreciated an ending of a JH and GC after she finds him, critically injured, being cared for by the old man who hid him to protect JH from being killed, their life together as husband and wife to give the viewers a really satisfying ending and also details of what happened to the people around them, their lives in the aftermath of all the turmoil that surrounded and affected them. Instead, we got the bland embrace on the beach scene that had been done over a million times in other dramas. And finally, I also wanted to see the corrupt officials, the concubine and all the evil characters involved in committing crimes against the people given their just desserts.

Namkong Min's acting was like watching a beautiful painting. He's one of those rare actors whose facial expressions convey what his character was feeling at that particular moment. I love his smirk when he is confronted by characters like the idealistic, clueless and cowardly Nam Yeon Jun . His movements were minimalist and yet they were very impactful in portraying the man as a silent hero who protects the weak without so much as a fanfare. It's no surprise that he took home the Daesang Grand Prize at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards 2024.

Good Things Can Come in Small Packages

Want something short and sweet? How about a body swap between an arrogant model and a high school girl with aspirations to become a runway model. The ML did a credible job as a teenaged girl; I found his inner female amusing. Due to the condensed running time, the viewer wasn't treated to many of the embarrassing sex switch scenarios, which are typical for such dramas. Instead, the story faced the dilemma head on, and the couple had to learn to deal with their new roles to eventually become allies. I was impressed with the quality of story, acting, and production in a drama just a little over two hours long.

If I Don't Let You Die, then You Won't Die

Hi hi, welcome back to my review and I apologize for the delay in writing this review because either I'm just too lazy to do it or I'm in a very hectic schedule. Anyway, I'd completed 'When Destiny Brings the Demon' some time ago and I want to share my views about it. Let's rock, shall we?

The plot is centered around a love story of three lifetimes involving a transmigrated office worker who loves to slack off, Liao Tingyan and her hot-tempered yet vengeful 'big boss' in the cultivation world, Sima Jiao. At first, they never get along given their contrasting personalities. Furthermore, Tingyan's quirky attitude and modern slang keep Sima Jiao pondering why her behavior who this woman is actually. However, as they spend time together through the three lifetimes (involving amnesia and reincarnation trope), they begin to see the real them, heal each other's wound, and save the world from the purging evil forces, which aims to annihilate the two of them.

Personally, I feel that the story is kinda refreshing despite being some sort of a humdrum due to limited settings and backgrounds. Of all the arcs, the most boring one is probably the part when they have a grand battle with Shi Qianlv (exquisite CGI makes do of it so I won't be complaining no more) and also the one in the mortal world (I wish it could be removed from the script tho). Aside from these issues, I also want to see more screentime of the second couple. Other people may say that their relationship feels forced, but to me, it's a different case. Compared to the main couple, I prefer the second couple more (firstly, I like the actors. secondly, their awkward interaction creates slight sizzling chemistry, which is my cup of tea, of course).

Acting is quite decent with Wang Yinglu coming out as the MVP of the show. I first saw her in 'The Outcast/I am Nobody' as the emotionless Feng Baobao. Clearly, she is a very versatile actress and captures Liao Tingyan's essence in an engaging way. Meanwhile, her co-star, Chen Feiyu is also shining as the cold-outside-warm-outside Jiaojiao. At a first glance, Jiaojiao may appear as a bad-tempered jerk – but, don’t let that image fool you. He’s just a lonely boy who needs love and healing from someone he trusts, and surprisingly Liao Tingyan becomes his emotional anchor when he’s deep in trouble or facing his inner demons. Also, I need to specially mention Wang Yiting and Gao Han for becoming one of the best second couples that I’ve ever come across despite the limited screentime.

Costumes, props, background (limited places and sets – very obvious from the director of 'Love Rebellion', and CGI give off a mesmerizing appeal for the watchers while the color palette is seamlessly blended to fuse a better watching experience. If I must say, the OSTs are pretty heart-wrenching especially the one sung by Tia Ray and Huang Xiaoyun. On the other note, I’m also ogling for Liu Yuning’s song – and as usual, he never disappoints me.

Will I rewatch or not? This time my answer will be a no as it only serves as a one-time watch (to be honest, watching it for second time will make the show stale itself). However, for those who crave for a refreshing transmigration xianxia story with quirky main leads, then this show if for you. I guess that’s all for my review. Good luck and happy watching and sorry for the delay again!!!

A BL better off as a Bromance

If you scroll down the comments and reviews you will find that many liked the story in early episodes, then half way through the series it lost it's charm and many lost interest or even didn't like it by the end.

This tracks with the beginning of the Romance between the leads, the first 5 episodes were beautiful, acting was acceptable, story was intriguing, the push and pull between the two leads was fantastic, story getting unwrapped beautifully as the series goes and it could pass as a Bromance or highschool drama about friendship.

Alas, romance has to happen, the beginning of the romance by the end of the 6th episode was so sudden, they didn't hint on any emotional aside from "caring" which is normal between friends, the two leads were too stiff in some emotional scenes, their acting was barely acceptable, just good enough to be watchable but they don't look comfortable acting as lovers and they don't look like one tbh, the awkwardness we have to endure between the 4 leads was unnecessary because the romance wasn't worthy tbh, I would pass on the dead fish kisses they showed us in the last 3 episodes for another sleepover with dorky moments that happened in the beginning of ep6 any time.

I believe this is the first time I watch a BL and want it to be more censored or a Bromance instead, because it totally ruined the last 3 episodes.
The writer did great in the first 5 episodes that I can't overall call it a bad series but again as a BL it's so bad IMO, and the two brothers thing was also unnecessary, it feels like it was written in a hurry with the mediocre acting skills from the cast i would not say it's a highly recommended series but maybe watch it for the first 5 episodes and for the friendship because it was nice.

Hidden Gem!

I came across Learning To Love by pure accident. Initially I was not expecting anything since the story of a host and a teacher didn't seem to be able to offer much. I was also not impressed with Raul, actor playing the the male lead. If you find yourself feeling that way while watching ep1, don't quit. Give it a chance and keep going.

As I continued to watch, the ML started to grow on me and I was invested in the story. The FL was the main reason I was curious at first. How would she tackle issues related to her students, how would she deal with this host and this conservative society? Is this going to become a cliche story? Will I be convinced by their pairing?

But even with all these doubts arising in my mind, I was intriguied by the different characters.
The fiance for instance - you will love to hate him.
The overbearing father - such a typical conservative man.
The friend - is she really acting in the FL's best interest?
The mother - she's putting up a facade.
ML's mother - why does she act this way?
But all these characters bring so much to the story as a whole and before you know it, you find yourself immersed in their story and being able to relate to or at least understand so much.

My journey from not liking the ML (first impression) to wanting to give him a hug and being able to relate to how he is struggling just shows how talented this actor is and how wonderful the storytelling truly is. With Minami (FL), from not seeing the potential in the character to cheering for her again shows that there is more than what meets the eye in Learning To Love.

The title is actually beautiful because the characters end up acting as each others support system and they not only learn to love but also learn to grow. The story is simple but with so much depth that you can't help but love it. It is among the best shows I have seen this year!

Learning To Love made me emotional several times and the OST just adds to that. The two songs that you can hear often are My Castle and Spiral. They are so beautiful that even with a language barrier, they make you feel so many emotions.

I have already recommended this drama to 2 friends and both have been enjoying it so I hope more people will give this a chance because it really deserves to be experienced by many more people.

Intense, no dull moments, inspring

I did not read any of the reviews nor comments here regarding this series. As I have watched many medical series such as Dr. Romantic, Doctor Slump and Doctors, I would expect lots of blood.
However, this is in another level.
Sure, there is politics, yet somehow Dr. Baek has proven himself to be more than competent to head the Trauma Center. He is a no non-sense doctor who aims to save every patient who is under his care. He may be strict, or unreasonable to others, but he has compassion. He knows his calling and that what drives him.
As for Dr. Yang, or Anus or Number One, he has the biggest transformation in the series.
I love Nurse Gangster, being in the Trauma Center for quite some time showed her strength and determination.
I also like Dr. Park, who showed his true reason in getting close to Dr. Baek.
And let us not forget Dr. Han who became his ally later on.
All the actors did a great job.
Every episode was intense, though there may be quiet and slow moments, those were important to break the intensity of the accidents and hospital chaos. There are funny moments which I also enjoyed that added color to the series. I like that every episode is under a hour and I think 8 episodes is just right to see the turnaround in the hospital.
This is an inspiring series, not just for doctors, but for every professional who had chosen a certain career - to find the why behind their choices.

A Bold Attempt

I can’t help but be reminded of The Untamed series. Kill to Love was definitely one of the more ambitious projects this year, packed with potential, but it didn’t quite hold together the way I hoped. As a historical BL, it had the setup to be really compelling, but somehow it just didn’t hit the mark emotionally. There were moments that felt underdeveloped, like certain scenes didn’t get the buildup they needed. The story started off strong and ended with impact, but somewhere in the middle, it kind of lost its rhythm. Still, it wasn’t a bad watch. I’d give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. Worth checking out, especially if you’re into the genre, but don’t expect it to blow your mind all the way through.

it's good for time pass
you will have fun while watching it
story was good for and a little bit of cliche for me , characters were good
but i think sometimes the expression of female lead were confusing in front of male lead
it also became repetitive at some point
last 2 -3 eps were not up to the mark for me

When Love Feels Like a Gentle Breeze ?

Watching this show was like taking a stroll by the beach after a long, stressful day. What a beautiful story. It was so nice to see a mature love story void of any of the usual silly tropes. The acting in this was superb, every character felt believable.

The ML was incredible. I love how he constantly smiled ☺️when he was with the FL, seeing him, there was no doubt in my mind that this was a man who was desperately in love. I admire the fact that he always gave Dou space to make her own decisions. He was really emotionally intelligent, not expecting things from her that he himself couldn’t give. And look things worked out for him ultimately. Let this be a lesson to you men out there👀

The FL was also amazing in showing a range of emotions. I have never cried as much as I did in the first episode. I cried too when she visited her friend’s parents and at other points in the show. The show was so rich with emotions and I can only commend the writing, acting and direction in this.

I too lost a friend this year, she was the kindest person I have ever met. She was so beautiful and a delight to be around. She was a light in my life. Living abroad, I felt like I never got to mourn her but watching this story helped me release some of those pent up emotions. It felt so healing. This is the power of good writing.

The supporting characters were great to watch too. The 4 little kids were too adorable 🥰Such great kid actors with hopefully a bright future ahead. The grandma was everything 😍 I love her. She reminds me of my own grandma. It looked like she was more excited about the 2 leads getting together than the leads themselves 😂 I loved it.

Overall, an incredible story that will take you on a healing journey. I would recommend watching this especially after watching something intense and anxiety inducing as it provides a nice relief. However, if you are easily triggered by themes of grief, the first episode might be a struggle to watch so make sure you are in the right state of mind.

Strong Start to the First Anthology

Our first anthology out of the four and I have to say it already left a strong impression. P and Pan return once again, and their chemistry continues to shine no matter what roles they take on. This time they portray best friends, and the dynamic between them feels both natural and heartfelt. P takes on the role of Yot, a young man who seems tough on the outside but is weighed down by personal struggles, a spoiled girlfriend who drains his energy and a mother who has fallen deep into gambling debts with dangerous loan sharks. On the other side, Pan plays Arm, Yot’s loyal best friend who hides a secret love for him, a layer that adds a bittersweet tension to their bond.

The first episode set the tone for something more mature compared to the usual lighthearted BL format. It balanced real-life struggles with emotional depth, giving us a grounded story while still keeping the warmth of their friendship at the center. The storytelling flowed smoothly, and the performances made it easy to connect with the characters’ pain, flaws, and quiet feelings left unspoken.

What stood out the most to me was how believable P and Pan were together. Even in the silence between them, their acting spoke volumes. You could sense the affection Arm has for Yot, and at the same time, you could feel Yot’s world slowly collapsing under pressure. It was this mix of realism and emotional pull that made the episode so engaging.

Overall, this was a great watch and I’m giving it a solid 7.5/10. If the rest of the anthology continues with this level of depth and chemistry, then we are in for a memorable series. I honestly cannot wait to see how their story unfolds in the next episode.

A refreshing love story

I nearly dropped this after watching the 1st episode halfway because it was off to a boring start, and I'm glad I continued it! The story is unique with a lot of good lines, and I learned a lot about love and life through this drama. This drama doesn't have the usual cliches I love how mature and level-headed the characters are. This is how people in relationships should be.
