Fascinating story but debacle project

Twelve could have been an exciting series that grabbed viewers’ attention this year, but it mostly ended up being a disaster.

As someone who usually watches series because know how they end, I decided to watch this one. Despite having an exciting storyline, I realized in the end that I literally wasted my time. That said, even though it was a waste, it did have some positive aspects.
The only actors who truly make this series worth watching are Seo In-guk, Kang Mi-na, and Sung Dong il. I’m surprised at how the rest of the well-known cast—even some of my personal favorites—performed so artificially. Park Hyung-sik, whom I genuinely like, gave an oddly forced performance in this series. In my opinion, aside from these three, very few actors elevate the show.

I won’t even mention the visual effects, which, compared to other series in similar genres, were truly weak and a complete disaster.

The biggest flaw of this series was its terrible handling of the story. It felt as if you had to read a book beforehand just to understand what was happening. Honestly, if the series had a few more episodes and had properly focused on the main events, it wouldn’t have turned out such a disaster. The lack of attention to important flashbacks made the story feel like a rushed, childish performance. Perhaps if they hadn’t skimmed through everything so quickly and hadn’t been afraid to explain events better, the series could have been much stronger.

Dumbest male lead ever! Not a single attractive quality! (Poorly written)

The only thing going on for Chen Yi Du are his looks. He should have been a sculpture or a mannequin, who made this guy human? They could have chosen a better one to transform into human!

There's a reason I'm calling him dumb: All his reasons for believing that female lead did him wrong and treating her like shit are all misunderstandings. He is so prejudiced against her, thinking that she is only out for her career, that he believes anything everyone tell hims about her. But he never trusts her. For him she is someone who can be tossed aside every few days and she just keeps coming back.

I feel worried about any woman who acts like this female lead, why worry about how her own reactions sif she were to regain her memories? Just focus on the present and see how poorly he treats her. There are 2 good things for 8 bad things.

What romance? This is Chen Yi Du's absurd revenge fantasy.

This drama would have been better if Huo Xiao was the male lead.

11 episodes and the entire time, the ML was a living out a revenge fantasy, right now, even with his looks, it is hard to overlook all the things he has done to the FL. The FL is supposed to be ex and shady business rival who has now lost her memory. We see her being a mean boss for 1-2 episodes and so those scenes are easily forgettable, overtaken by ML misunderstandings and prejudice. He abandons her in a remote location and she walks all the way to his home, even in that state she is begging him to listen to her. eck.

You would think as the drama progresses, Yi Du would try to redeem himself in some ways, but he squanders all the chances as if Weiwei owes him worth a lifetime of them.

Let's top calling him Yidu and start calling him POS, so the POS doesn't have the guts to put in any efforts in a relationship because the woman he claims to love is a rival, he wants to force his views upon his subordinates as well. Bravo!

Okay miracles do happens for some reason he had some sensible moments a few times. In the final arc there were some happy times for the two.

Now it was the Female lead's turn to initiate breakups, well atleast she is getting even. I lost all hope in their romance a long time ago. I have come this far might as well watch the whole thing.

What this drama could be known for: Countless breakups, atleast one in majority of episodes. They only spared a few episodes where there were no break up at all. Emotional Immaturity.

The Leads had good chemistry which just went down the drain with this production.

Law drama with a side of slow-burn romance

A great legal/slice-of-life drama that I thoroughly enjoyed. The pacing of the drama was great. There's no big surprises or anything in the drama, but it was overall a pleasant watch. I liked how each episode had a case of its own and that there was no over-the-top romance to take away from the law theme of the show. All the cases were interesting and tapped into a lot of important real-life scenarios.

The main characters were written and casted perfectly. Yun Seok Hun and Kang Hyo Min were always sensible and realistic- with every action justified- which is very rare to see in dramas. I think that's what made the drama really fun to watch.

The script is quite romantic and I really enjoyed that. However, its not romance between the MCs. Rather, it focuses on the different types of romance (i.e. between family, etc.) and between the other side characters, If you're looking for a law drama with obvious romance between the leads, this is not for you. But if you're into small, heart-fluttering moments that come as a slow-burn, definitely give this drama a watch!

The ending was done really nicely and I was surprised to see a lot of moments between the two leads. I thought they were going to progress and show more but I'm glad that they didn't. The MCs are very reserved, calm, and mature. Adding more would've made them seem very out of character. In the last few lines of the drama, there was a bit of reflection on the topic of love, which they never came to a definite conclusion. This kind of mirrors their relationship and its almost like they opened the ending so that there was a tiny consideration of the possibility of romance between the two. The slow burn was done impeccably. The actors executed it so well you could basically see the progression of their bond together- starting with admiration, growing to mutual respect, and progressed to a deeper understanding of each other.

The only reason why I'm giving this drama only an 8.5 is because I'm probably never watching it again lol. This drama isn't exactly what I gravitate towards (as I'm a big romance enjoyer) but I chose it since I was looking for a new drama to binge. The 8.5 is really just a personal bias (I apologize). I'd probably rewatch short scenes from the drama but I wouldn't take 12 hours of my time to watch it again- just my opinion!!

I still really enjoyed watching it and I would say they nailed law theme and the slow burn. (maybe if i'm feeling like it, i'll come and give it a higher rating lol)

Jung Chae Yeon is an amazing (and pretty) actress!!

Brilliant breakthrough plan

I can’t believe I’ve finally finished this series! I had tried so many times to start it, but after 5–6 episodes I would always drop it. I kept feeling like this drama was just hype and nothing special. (But I was TOTALLY wrong!)

After going back and forth so many times on whether to watch it or not, I finally decided to give it a real try — and I can’t believe I became such a fan of this brilliant series.

Mei Changsu: A brilliant character who fights battles without a sword, because his mind is a thousand times more powerful than any weapon.

If you are looking for a good story and great casting, this drama is definitely for you. But if you are looking mainly for beautiful scenery, extravagant costumes, or glamorous faces, then this might not be the one.

What I loved most is that the drama doesn’t rely on overdone makeup, heavy jewelry, or painted faces. Instead, it feels real and original — like we are seeing genuine people who truly belong in the story.

A clear message?

I am struggling to see the point of this extremely short film. It portrays the struggle with reconciling your sexuality with your religion. While we are not unfamiliar with this topic, we rarely see this is an islamic context. Not that there's any difference, intolerance looks the same in any religion. The ML is apparently the son of the imam and needs but one sentence from his father to break things off with the boy he likes. They have just started to be more than just friends and are both really sad about this. There's no real struggle, no arguments, no discussion. Just compliance, I am left wondering what exactly is the message here? Be compliant to your God/religion? It's hard being a gay muslim? Listen to your parents? I have no idea what the point is. Acting is ok, especially since these are very young actors. Music is just muslim chants. Story is hardly there.

I loved this silly bl :3

INCLUDES spoilers from second season!!

I loved this show, it's good, funny and silly. I loved the story, although I do not like the ending. The story was clear, no unneeded amount of side couples and a main focus on Oat and Pop. There are 7 main characters but the story still stays clear. I do gotta say that I think the story is mostly about Oat and Pop and the other 'mains' are more like side characters. But it doesn't matter that much.

It was a fun show, with a lot of comedy but it's lacking 1 thing, actual romance. The story is endless drama and the main couple? After 28 (including the second season) they still have no relationship? LET MY BOYS BE HAPPY... still giving it a 10/10 because this was so enjoyable and funny! :P

You can watch for eye candy MLs

It’s a good drama for a one-time watch, but honestly, it wasn’t worth stretching to 32 episodes. The story could have been wrapped up in around 20–22 episodes. Some scenes and side character storylines felt unnecessary and not worth watching. At times, it seemed draggy, so I often used fast-forward and skipped scenes that were too predictable.

What did I like the most?
Definitely Bai Lu’s acting. She portrayed the pain of an abandoned FL and her desperation to save her child so well that I could truly feel it. Those emotional scenes were the highlight for me.

Overall, it was just a decent drama — good for one watch, but nothing extraordinary.

It starts strong but then..

An interesting story with good enough acting. It starts strong and you get hooked easily. But then the story midway starts declining. Like the screenwriter didn't know how to proceed. Plainly speaking it gets kinda boring with a happy lukewarm ending. I enjoyed the special effects the most. I was hoping for more of an intense romance with sizzling chemistry for the couple. The show would have been way better with some changes.

A calm but worthwhile drama

This drama doesn’t try too hard, and that’s what makes it refreshing. The story flows at a steady pace, never rushing yet never dragging too much, giving the viewer time to connect. The characters are written with subtle depth, and their interactions feel natural without being forced or exaggerated. It’s not a drama that overwhelms with endless twists, but it steadily builds an atmosphere that keeps you watching. A simple, quiet, and engaging series that feels worth every moment.

This was WILD

I got a rec from Gaga to watch this and I had no ideas what I was walking into. The date says 2008 but I’m unsure and it could actually be more late 90s pushing 2000. The cinematography reminds me of an old VHS recording of home movies or even of safety videos from work back in the 90s.
Overall this is essentially porn with a story. it’s blurred (very Japan) but you’re getting dick, balls, and ass. There are several sex scenes that the “plot” revolves around, but it kinda just starts like cheesy porn would.
Really enjoyed seeing a flashback of a 40-50 year old man playing himself as 15.
Also they kissed like porn, the tongues were OUT.
Have a go yall. it’s wild but I mean hey it’s art.

Marry My Husband is a real pleasure for the eyes!

*Storyline
Marry My Husband has a great theme of the second chance. At first, I hesitated to watch this series because I was worried about the fact that it could be dark and too dramatic. The first episode showed the life of Kang Ji Won (played by Park Min Young). She had such a pitiful life. Also, her husband and best friend were despicable. To my biggest surprise, the series had many feel-good moments and it was very addictive! There are also touching moments, like when Kang Ji Won discovered that the taxi driver in the first episode was actually…her father. I was pleased to see that the story didn’t revolve only around the villains. The ending for each villain was well-written to me and they all pay for their bad actions.

*Acting & characters
First, of course, I love Kang Ji Won portrayed by Park Min Young. It was the first time that I watched a series with Park Min Young, and I understand why she is famous. She could be funny and serious, and she is also pretty! She is very cute when she smiles! I love her smile! I also love the character Kang Ji Won itself. She was nice but she wasn’t naïve. She was rather smart towards people who wanted to hurt her.
I especially love Yoo Hui Yeon (male leader’s half-sister) portrayed by Choi Gyu Ri. She was such a carefree person, and she was like sunshine for Kang Ji Won. I love the fact that she is nice and carefree but not naïve. She could see and understand the bad intentions of Jung Soo Won towards Kang Ji Won right from the beginning.
I also like Lee Suk Joon (often called Mr. Lee in the series) portrayed by Ha Do. In the beginning of the series, he seemed to be the assistant of Yoo Ji Hyuk’s grandfather. He was more present near the end of the series. I was delighted to see the development of this character. In the beginning, he always looked calm and cold. However, he turned out to be quite interesting when it comes to Ji Huyk and his love interest Yang Joo Ran. He understood Ji Hyuk very well and he always wished the best for him. I was thankful to him because he was able to see the change in Ji Huyk and convinced the grandfather to approve Ji Won and Ji Huyk’s relationship. Ha Do Kwon did a nice job here as Mr. Lee Suk Joon. His character here reminds me of his character in “Bloody Heart” as the loyal bodyguard of the crown prince (which I also enjoyed).

*Favorite Moments
I love every time Kang Ji Won succeeded against the villains! Those moments were very satisfying and feel good! It became even better when Kang Ji Won was with Ji Huyk to fight against those evil people!
I love all the scenes of Ji Huyk and his half-sister Hui Yeon. Their interactions are very fun to watch!

*The Big Bonus in this series
I also think that the art department and the wardrobe, makeup and hair department’s crew did a wonderful job and made this series even more enjoyable. To me, it was a real pleasure for the eyes! These people made a huge difference for me. Everything was beautiful to me!
I enjoyed watching all the outfits of Kang Ji Won. I found her very cute in the beginning with long hair, glasses and conservative outfits. Later, she was very elegant with short hair and her new wardrobe. Her suits and her handbags fit her very well! Besides her, I also like how Ji Huyk was dressed. He looked handsome in all his three-piece suits.
The settings like Ji Huyk’s apartment or their office always looked neat and clean. Even if Ji Huyk’s family was very rich, nothing was too much or overboard. Everything looked just elegant.

A Masterpiece of Emotional Turmoil and Moral Ambiguity

From the outset, The World of the Married establishes itself as a psychological thriller masquerading as a domestic melodrama. The series centers on Ji Sun-woo, a highly accomplished family medicine doctor whose ostensibly idyllic life as a wife and mother begins to unravel upon uncovering her husband's infidelity. What ensues is not merely a tale of marital discord but a labyrinthine dissection of trust, revenge, and redemption. The plot unfolds with meticulous pacing, layering revelations like an onion, each peel exposing deeper wounds and motivations.

At the core of the show's triumph is its exceptional ensemble cast, led by Kim Hee-ae's tour-de-force performance as Ji Sun-woo. Hee-ae, a veteran actress with a storied career, embodies her character with a raw authenticity that borders on the visceral. Sun-woo's evolution from a poised, intellectually sharp professional to a figure grappling with primal instincts of survival and vengeance is rendered with subtlety and ferocity. Hee-ae's ability to convey internal turmoil through micro-expressions and body language elevates the role beyond archetype, making Sun-woo a symbol of the empowered yet burdened modern woman. Opposite her, Park Hae-joon as the philandering husband, Lee Tae-oh, delivers a nuanced depiction of a man ensnared by his own desires and delusions. Tae-oh is no one-dimensional villain; Hae-joon infuses him with vulnerability, prompting viewers to oscillate between contempt and reluctant empathy, a testament to the script's refusal to paint characters in black and white.

Han So-hee, in a breakout role as the mistress Yeo Da-kyung, adds another layer of complexity. So-hee's portrayal captures the allure and fragility of youth entangled in moral ambiguity, her chemistry with the leads sparking scenes that crackle with tension. The supporting cast shines equally: Kim Young-min as the steadfast colleague Son Je-hyuk, who provides a moral counterpoint; Lee Kyung-young as the patriarchal figurehead Yeo Byung-gyu, embodying societal conservatism; and the young Shim Eun-woo as the couple's son, whose innocent perspective amplifies the familial stakes. Collectively, these performances create a tapestry of interpersonal dynamics that feel palpably real, drawing from psychological realism akin to Ingmar Bergman's explorations in Scenes from a Marriage.

Thematically, The World of the Married is a rich vein of intellectual inquiry. It interrogates the institution of marriage not as a romantic ideal but as a fragile construct susceptible to societal pressures, gender imbalances, and individual egos. In a Korean context, where Confucian values emphasize family harmony and filial piety, the show provocatively challenges these norms, exposing how they can exacerbate personal suffering. Themes of infidelity are dissected through a lens of power dynamics—economic, emotional, and social—revealing how betrayal erodes self-identity and fosters cycles of retaliation. The narrative also touches on mental health, portraying the psychological toll of deception with unflinching honesty, from anxiety and depression to obsessive behaviors.

For those weary of formulaic K-dramas filled with chaebol heirs and candy-coated romances, this is a breath of fresh, albeit bracing, air, a sophisticated narrative that rewards intellectual engagement.

The drama has that classic wuxia feel — lots of martial arts, rival sects, and epic battles — but it also adds some fresh twists that make it stand out. The fight scenes are super well done, and I loved how smooth and exciting the choreography looked.

Cheng Yi was definitely the highlight for me. He completely owns his role — serious when he needs to be, but also emotional and charismatic. His presence just pulls you into the story.

Visually, it’s stunning. The costumes, landscapes, and set designs all felt so rich and detailed, really bringing the martial arts world to life. Plus, there are some surprisingly emotional moments mixed in with all the action, which I wasn’t expecting but really liked.

Overall, if you’re into wuxia dramas or just want something with a mix of action, fantasy, and heart, The Journey of Legend is a great pick. Definitely worth the watch — especially if you’re a Cheng Yi fan!

Cinderella Who Saves Herself

I have put this drama on my plan to watchlist since it was released around Dec 2024. However didn’t get to it as was so busy that period. But recently a friend recommended this again and I binged watched it in 3 days.
This is really good, love how this was done, overall gave a high ratings of 8.5/10 on plot, acting, editing and costume. It’s marketed as a Rom Com but the story definitely has lots of seriousness as it explored some societal taboos at that period. Some themes include:
unequal treatment to slaves, class system in those times of Korea, society expectation on women, gender diversity and challenging the norms of a traditional society, etc.
2024 was a year of emergence of strong female leads being seen on screen, saw it in both k drama and c drama.

The story in brief without much spoiler, but don’t read this if you intend to watch it:

The female lead (FL) begins life as a slave but, through a twist of fate, took a noble lady’s identity and rises like Cinderella—rescued, married, and given a chance to pursue her dreams. She ends up marrying a man who can never truly be her husband(because of his biological differences), while her heart belongs to another idealistic man who sacrifices everything for his dreams, then gives them up for her.

Ultimately, it’s her kindness and good deeds that earn her a pardon from her hidden identity, allowing her to live happily with the man she loves, fulfill her dreams as a woman legal advisor for the poor, reunite with her long-lost father, and finally have a complete family.
