dont judge a drama by its rating ..give it try
we cant judge a food without tasting it and after tasting it, it not might be everyone's favourite right? just like that dont judge this drama untill u see it, i know this drama is not a cup of tea to everyone but give it try if u dont like it just drop, if u like it continue.for me it was pretty good start and pretty good ending but what was bad about this was 6,7,8 was kind of difficult to understand means when i think they are about to confess or they are happily enjoying themselves something happens then again they are against that was a whole drama in mid ..other than that there chemistry was good, they look so prefect together love the visuals and ya they captured canada pretty well. not to forget our kim seon ho smile he looked so dashing in this drama. anyways binged this drama from 3:00pm to 3:00am giving it 9.5/10. i just loved how they added funny things in every episode to laugh and seeing kim seon ho smile and they way fl is so pretty made me watch this drama till end .. it made me to leave good impression becoze of last 2 episode which was preety good. overall not bad it was pretty good and this drama is not cup of tea to everyone probably everybody will have different mindset and opinions
this is my first timing writing review after seeing all the hate in the mdl page, and leaving this review for myself

Idk how u all get past that age gap
I can't believe these pedophilic shows are the most hyped kdramasI'm baffled at the whole show having a highschool student as its fl with a male lead who is 900+ years old. Yes, he is going to be older than anyone he meets but they could not have made her a college student or something. If their aim was to have a helpless yet cheerful fl they could have done that but no. straight up child and she was childish the whole time. Its said that she is 19 but a 19 year old in school is no way mature or 'legal' for grown ass people to date. The creators clearly wanted a literal child to be the main lead for the show. They even end the show by reincarnating her as a school girl.
The Grim Reaper-Goblin-Sunny arc was the best part of the show. Their story, how their pasts are connected, how they don't remember each other yet they cross each other's paths were all done well. The show should have been about the grim reaper and sunny's romance with the goblin being the 3rd person narrator and ji eun tak being someone they all mentor/brings them together. A found family trope if u may
The lore was good too, it was interesting till the last few episodes where it seems like they let go of the buildup so that people ended up together. I didn't drop the series for the sole reason of finding out the story, not because of the main couple.

What a pleasant surprise!!!
I hadn't watched a Kdrama for a long time, and this drama just brought my spirit in a snap, just like when I first started watching dramas in 2021. This drama has made the cut for my favorite K-drama list, which I have maintained till now. I have a similar list for other dramas in other languages (I will share someday). Now let's jump to the review.I don't have that much experience or patience for a review, so please bear with me. I may not be able to describe the drama in words but can in numbers.
Story -> 10/10
Acting -> 10/10
Cinematography -> 10/10
OST -> 10/10
Rewatch value -> 10/10
The chemistry between the leads is very endearing, and for the first time I didn't dislike the 2nd lead; moreover, I enjoyed their interaction.
And lastly my love for Go Youn Jung ....đź« đź« Just how pretty can one person be!!!

The plot had so much potential, but the delivery and character writing was awful.
Let me preface this by saying I actually LOVED the first 9 or 10 episodes... but it all went downhill for the last 2/3's of the show. Which sucks because the plot and setting of the show had so much potential.I was actually pleasantly surprised to see a lot of the short web drama or vertical drama actors here and thought they did amazing in the beginning. But once the show moved away from the lightheartedness and tried to get more serious and have that psychological warfare - the gaps in their acting really showed. Even the FL wasn't immune and I could easily guess the plot twist based on her expressions (sister dying, marrying Bai Luo, etc.), maybe this was on purpose but it completely removed any shock value when the plot twist was revealed.
The main gripe I have with this show is the poor character writing and this applies to almost everyone. It felt like the writers just arbitrarily made the bad guys good and the good guys bad. For most of the show I was rooting for the 2ML only for him to have half an episode at the end to be one of the main villians; no build up to it, just a short explanation from him when he was caught and it made no sense how they were acting for just a big plot twist. Same goes for the sister -- the beginning made it seem like they would be the main antagonists and then they just turn around from one moment or conversation. There was no actual character growth before they're meant to be forgiven by the audience.
Same gripe with the main leads. After the first 3rd of the show - I just couldn't root for their romance and found myself fast forwarding through their romantic scenes. I enjoyed it more and only continued watching for the scheming and to see justice for the antagonists (which kept popping up out of nowhere with little to no tie-in from earlier episodes). I loved how smart both the FL and ML were when it came to strategies and execution but it was like they were clueless when it came to strategy and communication with each other. Imagine how much more they could've done if they worked together instead of deceiving each other over and over and over again.
But I'm giving it 5 stars for the beginning and the potential. I love historical dramas around female empowerment and LOVED LOVED the setting around a matriarchal family and culture. The setting around a tea culture was also a fun addition and loved learning more about it in the whole power through wealth and power through nobility set-up. Also loved all the scheming and plot twists (even if done poorly).

This is worth more than a 10
As for a KBL this is the top one , for 1 korean BL's always have a great story line with no silliness like the thai ones but they always lacked in the kissing and intimacy but this one was spot on and gave me butterflies with really kissing not pretend , great acting from everyone , i binge watched this in one day and never picked up my phone once like i normally do on the boring bits as this didnt have any....well done would love to see the 2ML together again as chemistry was top..Was this review helpful to you?

Never think twice if you’re about to watch this drama. It’s a 10/10 for me.
If you love women-centric shows, this is the one for you, absolutely amazing.(Continue reading only if you’re okay with minor spoilers about the characters and my personal interpretation of the show, which may differ from person to person.)
And honestly, I understand that the newly introduced characters at the ending might throw some people off. But if you watch it with an open mind, trust me, you’ll understand what this whole story was truly about and how it was important to complete the message.
It focused on many aspects, but one of the most important ones was women. I won’t spoil much, but this story feels truly needed to be watched. To me, it speaks about how women can uphold a dynasty, how they can rule, make their own decisions, and shape history.
That’s exactly why I don’t hate the newly added characters at the end which represent women who didn’t have privilege, protection, or nurturing, unlike Rong Shan Bao and her sisters. It showed how women were treated in the past, confined to their own cages, with little freedom or choice; it shows the harsh reality many women faced.
On the other side, through Rong Shan Bao and her sisters, the drama also shows us what a woman truly is and I feel this part reflects today’s world more. It represents a time where no one can impose themselves on us. We deserve respect and equality, and we are not behind anyone.
I don’t know if everyone will get it the way I did, but the way I perceived this drama gave me immense joy, and I loved every essence of it.

Magnificent Epic Tale
An epic series, made all the more remarkable by the young age and inexperience of the MLs.This was a magnificent production, beautifully filmed on larger than life sets. However, there were also moments of less-is-more, like the scene where ShuHe plays the zither under an autumnal Japanese Maple, which is shimmering in the sun.
The sumptuous costumes were worn with regal posture, adding to the already grand overall atmosphere.
It took me a while to complete this, as I found it confusing at first - ancient Chinese politics isn't my thing - but, when I understood this was a forbidden love story, I was roped into the intrigue and drama of it all. As a Fujoshi, I wasn't disappointed by the 'tame' BL moments - in fact they just increased the tension.
It also helped that all the MLs were stunning!
I liked the ending from the point of view that loves wins - if you believe in an afterlife.

Great Chemistry, Bad Writing
This show might be a hit for a lot of people… but it just wasn’t for me. It was so hyped, and I ended up having really mixed feelings. There were things I genuinely loved, and other things that completely turned me off.First, the good: the chemistry was INSANE. Like seriously, the chemistry carried this show on its back. The romance hit, and the spicy scenes? Super well done. He Yu specifically… wow. He ate that role up. I honestly loved him so much and I’m excited to watch anything he does next. For me, he was the show.
I also really enjoyed the friendship aspect and the racing side of the drama. It gave major Fast & Furious vibes, and overall the concept had a lot of potential.
Honestly the whole story felt like a Wattpad dream: bad boy / darker male lead, super cute and spoiled girl, intense obsession-level romance, and lots of drama with “I love her but I can’t be with her” energy. The vibes were there.
BUT… the biggest issue for me was the writing and execution. It felt sloppy, messy, and sometimes just straight up dumb. There were so many noticeable mistakes and continuity errors that it kept pulling me out of the story. One second something is happening, the next second it’s like they forgot what they filmed.
Even the time jump didn’t make sense — the whole six-year jump was badly handled.
And don’t even get me started on the male lead’s injury… sometimes he’s walking, sometimes on crutches, sometimes in a wheelchair, sometimes totally fine. It was honestly confusing and inconsistent. And the way he disappeared for years just didn’t feel believable based on how quickly he recovered. It didn’t add up.
Now the part that really ruined it for me: the female lead. I have nothing against Esther, but I’m honestly tired of this same type of role for her. She can act — I liked her in My Journey to You when she had a more serious vibe — but here she was written as overly childish and spoiled, and it got annoying fast.
What bothered me most is that even after the six-year jump… she didn’t really grow. She stayed the same immature, cringe character and I just couldn’t connect with her. I get that cute/fluffy characters are popular in Chinese dramas, but for me it was way too much.
The only reason I kept going was because the male lead clearly loved her exactly as she was — spoiled and all — and that dynamic worked for him, which I respected. But as a viewer, I was just irritated half the time.
One more thing I actually loved: Drunk’s character. He was so interesting and I wish we saw more of him. I didn’t expect him to become friends with the male lead either, but that friendship ended up being one of the best parts of the show. I thought we were getting a love triangle, but nope — and honestly I’m glad, because it would’ve been messier than it already was.
Overall, this drama had potential, and the chemistry + romance were strong… but the plot and writing were just too weak for me. A lot of things happened too conveniently, and some storylines (like the mom) felt like a switch flipped overnight.
So yeah — if you’re watching for a fluffy Wattpad-style romance with racing vibes, strong chemistry and spicy scenes, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you want something with a solid plot and good development… this is not it.
I can totally see why people love it, but for me personally? Not my cup of tea.

Soulmatism at its finest
Undeniable chemistry and entrancing storyline with breathtaking visuals and tear-jerking OST. The soul switch trope is well done, it's humorous without the cringe. I love that they are shown switched back in the important moments and is vital to build their relationship.There is immense pain that Gang is trying to overcome with vengeance, he is an intense and unyielding in his goal yet Dal is such a sunshine character that it makes it impossible for him to ever look the other way. Their yearning and devotion to protecting one another is so deep that it transcends fate. They are actually unhinged for each other, it's insane.
The only flaw is the second female lead. Her lack of emotions makes it hard to believe she even likes, let alone loves the Grand Prince. Luckily, the main leads' overflowing love for one another makes up for it. The plot also flows well and the ending is endearingly charming.
This drama is truly the ultimate depiction of the red string of fate.

underrated sci-fic tv series
overall if you like since-fiction, good dresses, beautiful girls, amazing side characters, you are going to love this one!its sci.fiction and thriller drama. The only thing that i dont like is the name of the drama doesnt fit the drama.
i expected more intimate/kissing scenes in this drama since it is called "Love on the Turquoise Land". I wish there were more scenes but there is not. I expected since the female lead is an independent woman and not a university student. in my opinion, that means the title doesnt fit the drama.
I need to say this: All the side chracters were amazing. The actors and actresses were amazing. Su xin and zhang Li nailed it. their make up, outfits were all amazing.
Dilraba`s outfit were amazing, her make up. she fits her role so well. she is better in modern dramas than Historical dramas for sure. cheng xin (ML) and Dilraba (FL) are a perfet match.
I like the cinematography, decors, female and male leads houses, also ML"s mother house decor was amazing.
Sometimes it story was slow but maybe this is the concept of chinese dramas.

A promising drama that was dragged down by too many ideas
I was really hyped for this drama because I was excited by the summary and I love both the main actors. I was so happy by the refreshing first half but the story kept getting more and more chaotic and fell off at the end.Let's start with the positives:
1. The amazing cast- I knew the actors would deliver on their roles. Kim Seonho is an amazing actor and just shone on the screen. The rest of the cast also did well and I loved that they made the foreign cast speak normally in the native accent instead of the cringey accent they do in other dramas.
2. The cinematography- I've got to say, the cinematography was amazing. Some scenes felt like a nature documentary and beautifully shot
3. The dialogue- I actually liked how the dialogue wasn't overtly cringey. Like there was some cheesiness here and there but nothing too crazy
4. The runtime- I'm actually glad this is short with just 12 epsidoes. If this was any longer, I would've gone crazy with everything that was happening
Now let's move on the negatives/rant:
1. The convoluted plot- What the heck were the writers thinking?! It had such a great start and I was loving it but so many plot points got introduced in the middle that I felt like I was watching another drama. The pacing was all over the place and I started to get frustrated towards the end
2. The repetitive plot structure- I lost count how many times the same thing happened again and again in the story. It was like I was watching a rerun of the same drama in a different font.
3. The useless second lead- I don't even know why Hiro was given so much importance in the story. Honestly, I just found him cheesy (like a typical jdrama character) and started skipping whenever he appeared on my screen. He did have some great acting moments but they were overshadowed by the cringe potrayal of his character
4. The anxiety ridden relationship dynamic- I don't know why they labelled this as a romance when the romance part is so unsteady and unreliable. Because of the numerous sad scenes, I as a viewer kept feeling dread about their romance. Like even when they got together, i knew that they wouldn't last and something is going to happen which I don't want to see in a romance drama
5. The "too deep" concept- I get that the writers had a message to deliver but they were too philosophical or too deep about how they portrayed it. Like I could understand it but it was done in a way where it seemed too artsy or theatrical for the common audience. It started seeming forced and unnatural to the storyline.
6. Bad marketing- This drama is more like a melodrama than a romance. I think people might be disappointed because the marketing as well as the first few episodes promised a refreshing romance but it changed from the middle. It was just too different than what we were promised.
Overall, i felt like this was a spiritual successor to "It's ok to not be ok" in terms of how it tackled childhood trauma, mental health issues, and complex family dynamics with a kooky, quirky concept. If they had marketed this properly, people would have set the right expectations. But still, i enjoyed this drama and might even rewatch it again. 8/10

What a disappointment!
I really liked the earlier episodes. Right now I'm on ep 8 and regretting I even picked it up. Why on earth would they go with that storyline for the female protagonist? It makes it completely unreal or bizarre. Now, I'll just get it over with or I might even drop it. What a waste of time...The director is an absolute moron!

Pretty Faces, Predictable Chaos, and a Finale That Fully Lost the Plot
Oki besties, let’s get into it. This drama, as many fellow viewers have clocked with laser accuracy, is neither original nor particularly remarkable—but also not terrible. It’s the genre equivalent of your default dinner when you’re tired, uninspired, and emotionally unavailable: familiar, easy, and mildly satisfying if expectations are kept on a leash.The leads were genuinely enjoyable to watch. The ML is certified eye candy—face card never declines, no debate there. I’ve seen him around, and while he absolutely delivers visually, his acting occasionally felt a bit… stiff? Not consistently, just here and there. Could be his style I guess, either way, still a pleasant viewing experience.
The FL did a great job. I hadn’t even realized she’d transitioned into mini-drama territory, but honestly? We roll with it. She carried her role well and felt grounded throughout.
Now, chemistry. Personally, I didn’t feel a strong romantic spark between the leads—and yet, plot twist, I still enjoyed watching them interact. A rare occurrence for me. Their communication was handled surprisingly well, they functioned as an actual team, and that alone did a lot of heavy lifting. The kisses were… fine. No fireworks, no earth-shattering revelations, but also not full CPR dummy mode—though that first one was skating dangerously close.
The villain reveal, however, did absolutely nothing for me. Mostly because the actress is a professional drama antagonist at this point. She plays the villain in nine out of ten dramas, so the second she appeared I was already like, “Ah yes. Anyway.” Let me locate my shocked face real quick.
The supporting cast did okay overall. I especially enjoyed the mother-in-law and the concubines—always reliable agents of chaos, doing what needed to be done, and love that we got a good concubine on our side.
And then… the final episodes happened. The plot didn’t just go off the rails—it launched itself into another dimension. Full commitment to nonsense. The last four episodes said, “We’re going out with a bang,” and then proceeded to cram a long separation and a reunion into what felt like the final three minutes.
So yes, we got messy drama, revenge, concubines, inner family schemes, and a finale powered entirely by vibes, but yes, a happy ending for our leads, all things considered.
As a pit stop between heavier dramas, this was a perfectly serviceable, predictable watch. Not life-changing, not groundbreaking—but sometimes you just want chaos with pretty people, and this delivers exactly that.
