Ehhh...
I'm gonna be honest it took me a while to finish this series because I was really busy, but as I continued watching it during my free time, I kinda started losing interest because I was getting bored of watching it 🥲 Don't get me wrong I LOVE TutorYim but I think this is one of the most awful series they've done. I lowkey just forced myself to finish this ...If you are into comedy and is fine with cringe stuff + less interesting plot then I guess this series is for you. If not, you should maybe skip this and find a new one. Let's get to itttt 🫶
Let's start of with our main couple:
Jade (Yim) is so oblivious. It was SOOO obvious that Mai (Tutor) liked him and I don't know how he didn't notice it sooner... It also got to the point where I was getting frustrated watching him 😭. I also didn't like how half of the time Jade was screaming like crazy and DON'T GET ME STARTED WITH THE OVERREACTING SCENES. I get it that Jade is a very awkward person but the over exaggerated facial expressions with the random sound effects and all is ... something. It was kinda too much. For Mai, his character is amazing ! he is such a greenflag 🥹 and his emotional intelligence is so good too. He never really pressured Jade and was willing to give him the time, love and care he needed. Overall they're both okay, but I feel like Jade had so much potential if they showed more of his serious and emotional side rather than only depending on his overreacting moments.
As for the side couples
Gus and Tong are cute ! I like their relationship. I was actually shocked that they have their own NC scene cuz I really did not expect that. Though I wish they had more scenes together so that we could see more of their relationship and get to know their characters better. They also had a lot of potential as a side couple and I would've loved to see more of their dynamic + a separate series only for them aswell !!!
For King and Uea, I haven't watched bed friend yet but for me they're okayish in a way... I'm not really a fan of how most of their scenes are them being mad at each other but at the same time I kinda understand it because that's also how some real couples are. Though I just wish we got to see more of their sweet and normal moments too even just a little bit considering how they already have their own series together.
This series might be enjoyable for other people but personally I don't think it's something I'd rewatch. It's still okay though :)

A Pleasant Distraction
I very much enjoyed this drama for what it was, just a pleasant distraction. The FL was exellent, the ML was good but acted a lot like he did in Love Next Door. I just enjoyed the ride. I would have liked a little more high stacks story line, it didn't seem that the villian was used very much to make you scared he was going to kill her in the later episodes. Was this review helpful to you?

Very enjoyable cast with a very enjoyable story.
It was funny and interesting. i binged it in one sitting. I found myself belly laughing at various scenes. The football game literally had me in tears. I loved how honest the main leads were. THERE WAS NO MISCOMMUNICATION TROPE!!! Unfortunately, it lost me at episode 10/11 though. I wish they just stuck to making Ms. Park a villain. The silly attempt at a redemption arc was so pointless especially considering the fact that she did not face any consequences for her horrible actions. I did find the final episode boring:/Was this review helpful to you?

Dull and uninspiring
Things I liked1 The premise. I thought it was interesting and I like themes with people try to adapt in new environments. it just fell short.
Things I disliked
1 The romance. There wasn't any real romance if you ask me. Just the idea of a romance. The second couple had more romance than the main couple. add to that the lack of chemistry and there you have it. Romance isn't interesting or funny or cute or anything.
2 The ML. I don't know him, but he was dull to me here. Maybe the director asked him to be that way but if they did it's a shame because I didn't care after a few episodes.
3 The FL. I can't say anything better for the FL. I think she was an average actress and not an interesting character. Their relationship started with some potential and I thought it'd go somewhere but the FL didn't pull it off and the script didn't help.
4 The other characters weren't particularly endearing to me or funny or interesting. I think the main issue is that I'm not sure why I was watching this. Nothing was deep or funny, let alone a combination. So at the end of the day it was a dull series that I wasted my time watching.

watch it if you have nothing else to do
This was an average drama especially considering how anticipated it was. I think the overall expectation was it to be like vincenzo meets hometown cha cha cha but this was just a father-son redemption story. And I wish they had actually gone with this as the main plot and kept romance as secondary. Because out of everyone's character, the villain father had the most depth. And I wish they followed the story through him, his desperate search for his son, the betrayal from one of his most trusted men, and finally the betrayal to himself when he finds out his son was infront of him all along and he was the one who ruined his life.Because, considering the drama as it is, the fl anyway has very less to give to the story. Sure she has her prosecutor role which is what sets the begining of this sticky relationship between the villain and ml, but is she doing anything? No. Halfway through this drama I thought maybe she is like the prosecutor from the good bad mother, like she knew what was to come and she has prepared accordingly. But things just conveniently fall into place for her as soon as she regains her memory.
Till the end the story was about the father and the son. The fl was just there. And I have seen non-romance dramas be more romantic than this 'rom-com'. It felt forced to say the least.
so yeah. watch it if you have nothing else to do or are a fan of any of the cast/crew.

Key To My Heart
Key to the Phoenix Heart completely blew me away, an absolute 10/10 masterpiece that exceeded my expectations in every way.The performances from both lead actors were phenomenal. What struck me most was their incredible mastery of micro-expressions; every subtle shift in emotion, fleeting glance, and unspoken thought felt remarkably natural and nuanced. Their chemistry was off the charts, delivering a deeply compelling romance that effortlessly conveys intense love and devotion without relying on physical intimacy.
The female lead was an absolute standout, she was strong, intelligent, and resourceful. She matched the powerful presence of the male lead step-for-step, creating an empowering dynamic of equals who truly complement each other.
The overarching story was exceptionally well-written, supported by high-quality production value, thoughtful pacing, and beautiful visuals. It took me on a full emotional rollercoaster: I cried, I laughed, and I was deeply invested in their journey from start to finish. Ending on a incredibly satisfying HEA made the entire ride completely worth it.
This might as well be my favourite show by Neo Hou. Aimi as well grew into an excellent actress.

A moral story
💗Was this review helpful to you?

❗️The character writing is INSANE❗️
this drama is absolutely amazing, every episode had me hooked and i was having a blast while watching it. not once did i ever think of dropping it as i watched, also how cute was the bts reference omgggg. but other than all of this the character writing is what got me hooked, all of the characters ESPECIALLY the villains have insane depth, they are not just some bad guys they have layers and years of trauma that led them to this. i especially enjoyed the way they portrayed the evil spirits host, not only was the actor insanely talented but the way the trauma of this character unleashed throughout the drama really touched me. im not going to say much because i dont want to spoil anything but wow i got really emotional when it came to his character. definitely worth it to watch.🂡( i put ace of spades emoji here corresponding to one of the characters, but you would only understand why if you watched the whole thing😉)

When you cast the most untalented FL
Things I liked1 Easy. Nothing. Well, I did like the premise, otherwise I wouldn't start it, but I regret every minute I spent watching this stupid drama.
Things I disliked
1 The ML. I'm not a hater and I liked him in other dramas. Here I disliked him and not only because he was an idiot more times than I can count, but for a reason you wouldn't guess. Because even when you are an idiot, you don't fall for such a stupid FL. Next time, check with whom they pair you. As an actor and as a character.
Things I hated
1 The whole drama. All the characters were terrible and I don't recall a single redeeming moment. I watched 12 episodes but I've skimmed the whole drama so it's not based only on the 12 episodes including the ending. Actually I watched the last episode hoping they wouldn't end together.
2 The FL. First of all, she's a terrible actress with no expressions whatsoever and I'm baffled that she keeps working. Well, taste isn't a universal thing so be it. The character was terrible. A stupid woman who is in love and then behaves like a 12 year old or a nonsensical person. I don't get what she wanted. Actually she wanted a handsome man who she had a crush on to fall for an ugly character and an ugly woman. Yes, I'm being harsh and I know she may be beautiful to others' eyes but to me she was the most unattractive actress I've ever seen in a drama. Add tot hat a terrible character and she ruined everything. I wonder if the novel described her as ugly and they chose this actress. Not that I care. I'm already mad I wasted my time with that stupid drama hoping it would get better.

SUCH A COOL PLOT AND STIRYLINE!
Let's first start with what really made it MIND-BLOWINGThe actors??? They are so good omg! I even enjoyed Sangwoon badboy image they potrayed, and pls don't even get me started at the main leads! Yeowoon is so adorable aaaaaaa
They did a great job in casting fr!
Now about the plot holes
Well I feel like there were so many things that were left unanswered, the world building was good but there were things that were happening which werent even explained. For example (the biggest question) - if Myung Ha is dead in real life, is he living in another world with all these people or did he go back to his past in his own world after death which made the 2 worlds (Yeowoon and Myung Ha's) interconnect?
So yes there are so many plot holes but overall it was an amazing watch. And I loved the portrayal of self love and depression all along!

Not perfect but good for a binge where you don't think about small details of the show
So i will start this review with saying that the show was not perfect by any means and i most likely will never reqwtah it, but it was a good one for a 12 hour binge. Its a classic one of the genre of romantic fantasy IMO. Some will enjoy this others wont its a preference here. I will say though its funny to see how a high priest deals with his feelings of only knowing celibacy to liking someone and aæ that entails there. Without giving any spoilers. I see many bad reviews and I don't think a lot of them are justified but yeah its their taste. I wouldn't say that for this drama its overly boring to watch or I physically couldn't get through it but def not the best. THe show has shortcomings yes and poor screen writing but they also did an amazing job with what they had.Overall, i'd say that If you are someone who expects the series you watch to be perfect in every aspect, this series is not for you. Maye just skip it and not watch it if its not the best tand you expect the best from everything maybe watch other shows theres a lot of more enjoyable shows out there for romatic fantasies. But if you are looking to enjoy watching the relationship between the main characters without worrying about the small details, you can watch it without worrying.

WTF happened to Flex x cop???
Where is the funny? Its only cringe and serious....... not what the show was supposed to be.The FL switch really screwed this show over. Putting in a elite cop was a really stupid idea.
She is not funny at all and when she laughed at him when the bomb didnt explode it was so fucking cringe. Worst laugh I have ever heard.
Give me back the lightness and the fun of Season 1 - all the supposedly funny scene is season 2 feel like they were written by a premature toddler....
Sorry but this is GARBAGE

A Caramel-Mushy Village of Morons
When I finished the drama, I honestly thought we'd been handed some kind of webtoon pastiche or parody aimed at teenage girls. Because when it comes to tropes and clichés, this was Champions' League level. And why not, after all, if the writing had been brilliant and those tropes had been used intelligently and effectively. Unfortunately, much to my regret, the keys to the truck were once again handed to an amateur with the writing talent of a hack. The premise itself was simple and cute, but after a first episode that hinted at some interesting themes built around the romance, we quickly switched to "the dumber it is, the more easily it goes down" mode. We went way past the land of marshmallow, soft caramel and cotton candy and stepped headfirst into pure silliness and mawkishness. Thankfully, Heo Sung-Tae is there to bring at least a semblance of credibility to the crime side of the drama, because otherwise there wouldn't have been much left to save. In Hangul, the title basically means "a shitty love" or "a damn crappy love." At least it's explicit, and you're not being lied to about what you're getting. Maybe if this drama had aired at Christmas, I might have given it a passing grade. But in the middle of August, everything melted. My brain included. For more than 14 years, Jang Tae-Ha (Jung Hae-In), a former promising young boxer, has been the right-hand man of a powerful crime boss. He's got blood on his hands. But before returning to his childhood village, called Caramel, and finally putting this disgraceful chapter of his life behind him, his boss Baek Sang-Gil (Heo Sung-Tae) gives him one last assignment: make prosecutor Go Eun-Sae (Ha-Young) disappear. After beating her unconscious, Tae-Ha is ordered to get rid of her. But he recognizes someone from his past in her. In complete secrecy, he manages to smuggle her to a remote rural hospital. When she wakes up 15 days later, she has amnesia and there is no way to identify her. Tae-Ha then pretends to be her fiancé and takes her back home to protect her. His mentor and former boxing coach Hong Do-Yeop (Jeon Bae-Su), his wife, the village's three gossips and his grandmother Go Young-Hong (Kim Young-Ok) will help him with the task. Tae-Ha has always had a crush on her, but is it mutual now that she's lost her memory?
After teasing us with a first episode that wasn't too bad, the drama quickly reveals the limits of its narrative construction. A light rom-com doesn't have to mean a stupid rom-com written for an audience with the intellectual appetite of a kitchen sponge, ready to swallow absolutely anything. Especially since there is a crime storyline that shouldn't be ignored, even though it will disappear for numerous episodes. In short, there was a good idea here, but the writers systematically choose the easiest possible solution, piling up coincidences, contrivances and implausible situations. Credibility has no place in Our Sticky Love: you're simply expected to accept everything and anything. Everything is telegraphed and predictable, whether it's the romantic scenes, the fights or the flashbacks. As I said, it's a festival of tropes and clichés by the dozen; nothing has been left out. But Netflix Original means no PPL, except for Volvo. We're stuck with the usual stereotypes of a backward village, embodied by the trio of gossips who apparently have no lives of their own. The story is so thin that even halfway through the drama, practically nothing has happened. We're just going around in circles. What also stands out is the shameless black-and-white morality: every character is flat, with the villains being very, very evil and the good guys being very, very good. It's utterly boring.
Let's talk about the romance. At first, it's all cute and sweet, but we quickly realize the limitations of the situations. For an amnesiac, Eun-Sae is remarkably trusting and is never really on her guard. The script tells you to accept the situation, so you accept it. Period. To put it bluntly, the drama seems to confuse romance with an accumulation of romantic tropes. And here we go: lingering looks, ultra-aesthetic lighting, piano music, painfully childish dialogue, "Oppa," rain, kisses, etc. The problem isn't that these elements exist. They are part of the classic language of Korean rom-coms. The problem is that they practically replace the writing of the relationship itself. We're constantly shown that these characters are in love, but we rarely feel why they actually love each other. Their chemistry therefore feels manufactured by the direction rather than created by the characters themselves. The drama almost never lets the emotion arise naturally. It's basically a romance starter kit for complete beginners. Everything is explained, underlined, accompanied and repeated. The result is that you feel absolutely nothing for this couple, who, incidentally, are never really in sync, because there's another, more annoying problem: the acting. The two actors are never on the same wavelength, and it's painfully obvious. As for chemistry, forget it.
By now, I know Jung Hae-In well enough to be able to take a critical look at his work. He's a good actor, provided he has an excellent actress opposite him and/or a script worthy of his abilities. But he too often confines himself to easy romances because he has that "straight-A student" kind of face. Here, he turns in an even flatter performance than in Love Next Door. He's better in emotional dramas because he usually has talented actresses opposite him and scripts that give him something to work with. In D.P., in a completely different genre, he was excellent. Here, he brings back that familiar sad-puppy look, even though his character was supposed to have spent years as a gangster. And on top of that, we're apparently supposed to believe he's the biggest virgin of the decade! Opposite him, Ha-Young, in her first lead role, overdoes it, but at least she brings something to the table. Her character is so unintentionally out of sync with the situation that it becomes either hilarious or embarrassing, depending on the scene. This actress isn't just pretty; she has genuine potential. But here, she comes across more like a clueless idiot than a prosecutor. As for the rest, everything is telegraphed, including the bargain-basement "second romance" and the completely cartoonish crime storyline, with some ridiculously dumb fight scenes. Finally, it feels as though everything takes place in a tiny little microcosm designed to make the plot easier to move along, even though the plot is already incredibly simplistic. The rest of the cast is basically there to serve up the necessary lines and tell you when you're supposed to laugh or cry.
This story was obviously destined to end in full-on Care Bears mode, so naturally the fact that Tae-Ha spent nearly 15 years as a violent criminal is conveniently swept under the rug. Not only is he never investigated by the police, he doesn't spend a single day behind bars. The power of love, I suppose... Or maybe the power of stupidity. I honestly can't remember anymore. Yet again, this is another element that turns a light rom-com into a pile of nonsense where you're expected to swallow every last absurdity. For once, that ever-reliable "five years later" would actually have been useful. Instead, we're simply told to accept that yes, Tae-Ha was a violent thug, but apparently the "good guy deep down" rule applies before and after. Structurally, this drama is far too long for the story it has to tell. It could easily have ended around episode 10, and honestly, they could have fit the whole thing into eight episodes. But because they apparently had to fill a quota, we get a completely improbable coincidence at the end masquerading as a twist, straight out of Darth Vader meeting Luke in Cloud City on Bespin. There is also a very violent scene toward the end that could easily have been left out. If it was supposed to convey some message about repentance or resilience, it completely fails. The finale feels like the final banquet scene in Asterix, with the most shameless fan service imaginable. Nothing has been forgotten, and nothing has been spared.
In the end, Our Sticky Love is exactly the kind of drama that might work for a viewer who isn't very familiar with the codes of Korean rom-coms, but quickly becomes unbearable for anyone who has already watched dozens of them. It's the same old stuff we've seen a thousand times. I have no problem with tropes when they're well written. Here, they're simply piled on top of one another, highlighted in neon and used as crutches for the script. At no point does the drama try to surprise us, genuinely develop its characters or give even a minimum of credibility to its situations. Even the few good ideas in the premise are gradually sacrificed on the altar of mawkishness. What we're left with is a succession of predictable situations, caricatured characters, childish dialogue, artificial romance and implausible plot devices that eventually make the whole thing unintentionally funny. Everything is so relentlessly "happily ever after," like a fairy tale. By trying so hard to be cute, comforting and harmless, the drama ultimately ends up being hollow. Between writing that's scraping the bottom of the barrel, zero credibility and a romance that feels more like an illustrated manual of genre clichés than an actual love story, Our Sticky Love ultimately felt like watching an unintentional parody of a K-drama. Occasionally funny without meaning to be, but ultimately just bad.
