Mek & Dech Saved The Show

I'm a big fan of historical dramas, so when I saw the trailer for Memoir of Rati, I immediately added it to my watchlist. I’ve also seen Inn and Great in other projects, and I love their chemistry—it’s really something you can feel.

Now that I’ve finished all the episodes, I can say I have mixed feelings about the show.

The Characters:

Rati is a translator who teaches French to VIPs in Siam. His character is modest, soft-spoken, and gentle. Then there’s Thee, a marquis from the Ministry of Education. He’s instantly drawn to Rati from the moment they meet and keeps finding ways to be around him. Even though his grandmother is pressuring him to get married, he starts falling for Rati and clearly wants something else for himself.

Mek and Dech — the side couple — honestly saved the show for me. I really loved their storyline. They went from strangers, to enemies, to friends, then lovers. Mek went through a lot because of Dech’s father, but seeing them end up together was such a joy. They're not super expressive with their feelings, but you can feel how much they mean to each other. Their dynamic added a lot of heart and depth to the story.

As for the overall plot, I liked it, but I can’t say I loved it. There’s something missing that I can’t quite pinpoint—it felt a bit bland at times. That said, what kept me watching were the stunning costumes, the great chemistry between both couples, and how visually beautiful the entire production was. The story of Mek and Dech especially brought the whole thing to life.

I’m also happy that AouBoom were given decent screentime—their acting was solid and added value alongside the main couple.

We all have different tastes, so I’m not sure if Memoir of Rati will be your cup of tea. But if you're into historical BL dramas, it's still worth checking out—just don't expect it to be a masterpiece.

Comedy / Drama / Suspense rolled together

This truly was a great series from the very beginning right through the end. I'm always a fan of Kyung Ho and he did not disappoint in his unique role as Chi Yeol. He and Do Yeon make great entertainment together in this sometimes drama, sometimes comedy. I don't get the craziness everyone has for an advanced math tutor, the trillion dollar man, but once I get beyond that, this was extremely enjoyable to watch.
There's much more comedic situations early on, gradually changing into a much more dramatic format blending with some definite suspense tones later. From episode 11 on, everything really takes an enormous change of direction. The shocking revelations that take place in the later part of the series makes for some fantastic entertainment.
Eui Shik & Jae Ha, seeing them in other roles, you really appreciate their performances in this drama. Truly impressive.
The rest of the supporting cast, Chae Min, Yoon Seo & Min Jae really complete the puzzle in making this a great series to rewatch a second time.
I think what stopped me from giving out a 10 as an overall rating was the final two episodes. I really didn't get the long lost mother showing up from Japan, creating a new drama story that really wasn't needed. Not only showing up, but her departure in the final episode was so casually accepted, it was hardly spoken of after her exit. We were still reeling from the shocking chain of events that occurred in the previous two episodes, it was not necessary at all to add that in.
That being said, this is definitely a series to enjoy. Great entertainment!!!

Another hit of MileApo

I’m honestly obsessed. What I love most is how it feels so much more than just a BL romance — it’s set in the late 1960s early 70s Thailand, so you get this amazing mix of retro vibes, political tension, and that kind of raw, emotional storytelling that really hits. Trin (Apo) and Thanwa’s (Mike) relationship is beautiful because they’re complete opposites — a serious economist and a free-spirited hippie — and watching them slowly change each other is just… how do I explain it kind of addictive.
The cinematography is also just stunninh (every frame looks like a movie), and the soundtrack by Slot Machine , who came back again to MileApo after Kinnporsche, makes the whole thing even more powerful. Apo and Mile’s acting is on another level again— their chemistry pulls you right in and makes you wish tge show was longer
You should totally watch it, because it’s not just a love story, it’s also a show that makes you be emotional to the very end.

The CHEMISTRY takes the spotlight! Prince turned superhero bound to enemy female general

My high rating is mostly for the romance between our leads. When I saw this pairing I wasn't expecting these two to have such great chemistry. Every time they hold hands, every loving glance, every hug just oozed sweetness.

Cheng Lei was decent in The Female General but he finally won me over as Jin'an. I found this character to be a lot more enjoyable and Cheng Lei did a great job making Jin'an as animated and charismatic as he was. I think it took me seeing him in a role where he had to shift between personas to realize his talent. In My Journey to You his character was morally gray, serious, and pretty boring. But Jin'an was just perfection.

Song Yi, this pretty alien, was never my favorite but I found her tolerable before as long as she wasn't crying. I had my doubts about being able to see her as a fierce general but she put her own spin on the character and I wound up liking her. Her character was elegant and noble but what I loved most was how straightforward she was. When she loved, she loved hard and gave her whole heart to Jin'an. But when things took a turn for the worse, although she was sad to lose him, she never allowed herself to become completely lovesick and lose focus of what's really important. But there are still limits to what Song Yi can do. She never came off as truly intimidating because of that sweet voice lol All of her outfits were beautiful though!

Guan Hong is my 2nd highlight after the main CP. Mo Yin was perfect to me. He's always such a cutie and so mesmerizing when he's on screen. I didn't need to see a full blown love story between him and Lu Xin but she grew on me by the end and their scenes became fun to watch.

The OST! I loved it. Almost every song in still stuck in my head but the LYN song was the best. The CGI and overall cinematography was mediocre but then still over the top at times. Not enough to ruin it for me because I normally have low expectations in that department anyway.

I definitely liked more than I disliked with this drama. I found the ending theme really touching when Jin'an basically expresses that his heart will always remember her and he will always uncontrollably fall in love with her even if his mind forgets her. Their bond was really sweet to watch. You just have to get through the middle, which kind of drags because it's a bunch of plotless episodes where our CP is just bonding. But once the drama comes back from its walk in the park, the last 10 eps are very enjoyable. I can overlook the silly villains as well because they never get that much screen time or cause too much trouble. I'm also a nerd for anything superhero so I did wish that there were a few more of those scenes but I'll take what I got. I would definitely watch this again for the romance and for the last arc.

Korean content always strives to provide something new and unique through plots, themes or messaging. The VR themed plot of the show and the execution of the game in the first few eps provide for some fresh, intriguing viewing. Ofc it's not perfect. It loses track after a while and certain things contradict the universe they've built. Perhaps a 12 epi format would have done the drama wonders. But i loved the unique story and Hyun Bin's charismatic acting so the 8!

Quality Drama with Insane Acting

Reset is about time travel, a very unique concept but not new. The unique aspect is that he gets reborn 20 years ago in 1999, and this affects the way things are filmed. Like many have pointed out there are most likely some setting discrepancies from actually 1999, but as all BL, budgets are not very big and I believe old antiques are pretty pricey or no longer in production. Considering this, I say the production did a pretty good job trying to set up the setting.

Story wise, it’s pretty generic, and there may be sometimes where you may be like why they doing it this way. Or you may already know what to expect, they also didn’t give us a very smart villian. Yet why did I rate so highly for story? It’s because of the unique concept, when we usually watch time travels, the question comes to what would you do when you travel in time. What would you change? For Armin, he may have time traveled, but before all the success he had nothing. He may have had the knowledge of certain stuff, but he had nothing to really be using those knowledge for. What he really did was using his years of acting experience to be able to fix certain mistakes he made during his journey to the top and avoid what caused his death. It didn’t really focus on time travel terms at all, as Armin most likely didn’t care or didn’t know. Most importantly I appreciate the extreme focus on Tada and Armin relationship. No side couples, just entire focus on these 2 characters and how they come to love each other.

Acting was top notch, I appreciate the usage of experienced actors and it shows. Intense and electrifying connection is what I would describe the two main lead. Right from the first scene, their eyes can speak, and we can tell what they are thinking. Props to Peterpan, he has extremely control of his facial expressions and you can really feel his emotions based on what expression he was showing. Pond I watched from fourever you the series and he didn’t really stand out, but here he does. He matches peterpan with micro expression, and his beautiful smile which we can tell tada be falling for every sec.

Now the villains, the step bro, he has like a cute face, but he really became a villian that made me not like him. There’s many different types of villains and they didn’t give us a smart one, but they gave us a rapid dog one/psycho. Quite a unique choice for villains I say, precisely because he’s psycho, while he’s not a very smart one, he’s very unpredictable. The hardest folks to tackle are not those are only smart but those who have nothing to lose. He really dug deep into that aspect and we can see how he slowly spirals down the psycho path, because losing his mind at the end.

Productions
I appreciate the change in style of recording, while it didn’t fully feel like they were in 1999. The usage of certain lightings made it unique. The rain scene where Tada catches Armin was my fav. Whoever was doing the BGM, needs to do so for a lot more dramas. The songs he used wasn’t exactly good, but they were very good at when to slow down/stop, which part of the song to use and it really set the mood when I was watching.

Overall:
It’s a high quality BL drama that stands on its own. It has its own unique qualities that differ from other dramas and I would be willing to rewatch from time to time. The intense chemistry between the two MLs had, makes it worth folks to give it a try. I was reading that some folks consider this as cheesy, but maybe it’s because I watched much more cheesier bl dramas before, I didn’t really think it was cheesy at all 😅.

Would You Reset Time for Love?

This show was very good. Often time travel stuff can get extremely convoluted, but this wasn't too bad! I kept up with it fairly well and it wasn't completely out of the realm of possibility like some other shows have been. I enjoyed our leads and wanted to see them succeed together, as well as take down some of these trashy co characters UGH. I didn't wanna see Fiat 2.0, I really didn't lol.

A Slight Mis-Translation

So I actually saw Daou and Offroad in 'Century of Love' first, which may have been a mistake. Because that show exceeded my expectations, this one didn't quite reach them after that. It was cute don't get me wrong! But the plot lost me after awhile and I was just semi-paying attention until things actually took off in the relationship. I find it heartwarming that this show is supposedly based on their actual relationship starting, but either way it was just alright.

I WANT MORE!

Possibly one of the very BEST dramas of 2025...and I am already mourning the loss of it now and praying (even though it is a rare thing) that the producers and actors might consider a second season....I TOTALLY CAN NOT understand HOW this amazing drama only has an 8.3 rating!!!

WHAT AN AMAZING DRAMA. So incredibly written, each episode presenting us with another truly thought provoking "case", and then watching how incredibly well the writers develop each story arc, blending in the personal stories of the cast along with the complex legal story was truly like watching an artist create a painting. I felt so satisfied after each episode!

The cast could not have been better chosen...each carried their character wonderfully. And I really have run out of adjectives for how perfectly matched Lee Jin Wook and Jung Chae Yeon were in this work! Their onscreen chemistry, and not just romantically but in every facet of this drama, was perfect. The shared support and empathy between the two was so beautifully handled and to watch their mutual respect and friendship develop was incredibly satisfying.

I am not usually a fan of open-ended finishes on dramas, but it absolutely was perfect for this series. The whole series was like "a day in the life" for me, an ongoing story inside the world of a legal firm. I felt a real connection between episodes so the end left me feeling like it would just continue on, if that makes sense...It definitely made me want more, but I think even if they had resolved the leads relationship without question I'd still be left wishing for more...it is just that good a drama. Each element is a stand alone winner that held my interest throughout...the cases, the second lead's romance, the lead's relationships, the inner complexities of legal firms...all parts of this drama shone on their own....

So in the end, I Want More!!! I miss it already, and it's only been 12 hours...

One of the best drama!Especially for those who love law drama with slow burn romance

First of all,I love how in every episode it has at least one case that they were all very interesting, new and complex that had many layers on them. The writer was so creative about the cases. The second leads is my favorite couple and in my opinion the best couple of 2025,their slow burn romance is everything in this drama, the fact that he didn't pressure her to married him or to date him immediately it was the greenest flag. The last episode was my favorite for the second leads(also the 6th), I love the proposal, one of the best proposals ever! Also Lee hak Joo his character was so good and it's suits him so well. Let's move to the main characters. It may not have had romance between the two protagonists but I think this is better despite the majority of the fans wants them together, due to the fact that their age difference is big and she is his junior colleague and it could be weird if the were date. Nevertheless,I love their friendship, how they talk the nights at the office, their night walks at the park and their deep conversations. I really appreciate and love how they show us in the last episode all the lives of the people from the cases where are they now! The relationship with her mum was so touch as the relationship with her sister, her mum was annoying as a character and stupid as she abandoned her own child to her sister cuz she has some disability and she separated the two sisters. So I am glad that the two sisters have a good and healthy relationship. The story of the ex.wife of the main lead was so devastating that she broke up with him and then she date his friend and now she's pregnant, fortunately she let him to have their dog after so many years...The nasty ex.boyfriend of the main lead didn't cause a lot drama (thank God) he was annoying in the court every time they had a jury but also he was professional. The only thing I find boring and tiring was the thing with the entertainments, that the one stole money from the other something like that. Also their co-workers were so nice and good.Least but not last,I love the friendship of the three girls that they were childhood friends and roommates. Highly recommend this drama it's very good with very touching stories, their acting was so professional and passionate like they were lawyers in real life. Thank you to all the director, staffs, writer, actor, singers that sang the osts and everyone else that worked so hard for this drama!

It had so much potential to be great ... but!!

I was drawn into this series, because it looked like a really unique story to follow. At the start, it appeared to be just as I thought, original and enjoyable, but something happened along the way. As each episode unfolded, it started to lose a bit of the attractiveness it had early on.
By no means does it becomes bad in any way, but it could have been so much better. Sung Hyun does a great job keeping his character interesting and a bit mysterious. A high school kid inheriting an upper class private school that he attends, it's such a good story to go with, and the character of I Su fits perfectly to be that high schooler. The problem I had was with several antagonists throughout the story, especially his uncle, Na Jun. He could have been truly a great villain in this drama, but he lacked depth with a very poor ending for his demise. It was definitely a rushed story conclusion in the final episode with a bit of disappointment following it.
That said, it still is worth watching. Minus the ending, it is quite entertaining with a supporting cast to Sung Hyun that fits the drama.

Watch for the law cases!!

Easily one of the strongest law dramas out there, those case files were chef’s kiss 👨🏾‍⚖️. Each one brought a fresh angle that kept you locked in, episode after episode.

The cast? Stellar across the board. From the leads to the background players, everyone pulled their weight. And the way their personal stories added emotional depth without hijacking the legal plot? Perfect balance. No unnecessary drama, just layered storytelling done right.

But If they’d leaned harder into the legal storyline instead of juggling to find a bal in the first lead rom dynamics, we might’ve gotten a stronger final case or even a more satisfying ending overall. Ms. Kwon’s scenes felt like they were plucked from a whole other drama 😭. Beautiful, yes, but the integration was off. That arc could’ve been the ending, honestly!

Now the second lead romance? Chef’s kiss. That’s how you do it age appropriate, emotionally grounded, and woven in without hijacking the plot.

Great chemistry but a story that just goes on and on

There is so much to enjoy about this drama but equally lots that frustrates.
The ML falls in love with the FL very quickly but as they are both pretending to be someone they are not, and as they are both bound by social and familial restrictions takes a while for them to realise what they mean to each other so slow burn is an understatement.
The ending is very rushed as some of the plot that winds its way through this story just fizzles out without any real understanding or resolution. A great example is the copper box and gold keys which are integral to the story for 75% of the time but we never really find out if anyone managed to collect all the puzzle pieces and open it.
Yang Zi and Qin Jun Jie act brilliantly together and his long lingering looks could set a room on fire, it’s just a shame that her character is too focused on her mission to see it and reciprocate until the last couple of episodes.
The production values are good, the costumes and cast excellent and if they could have cut out a whole pile of irrelevance this would have been even better than it was. I did find it quite repetitive at times.
The final scene is gut wrenchingly sad and my heart broke as the words of the grandmother came true. Nuff said, I won’t spoil it any further.
Would I watch it again? Probably not as the ending leaves too much to the imagination with no clear outcome

Could be much better!!

Beautiful photography, very good actors but such a waste of quality when they begin to use endless clichés scenes of medíocre kdramas.
I can't understand why they did that because they have a interisting story, fun dialogues, skilled actors, beautiful scenarys and a very good photography diretor! Such a waste of good resources!!!
The screenplayers seem to be lazy and uncompromised.
I hope the next episodes Will be more creative and varied.
Congrats to the ML for his performance. FL is always great!

Nong Sao's First Bad Boys BL

For all the attitude some of the young men throw, this is fluff and pretty tame. There's a lot of simulated drinking and drunkenness, which is one way of creating situation while avoiding plot beyond the relationships; a lot of simulated sex, which is another way of avoiding plot; gossiping, gossiping, and more gossiping; some violence and young men who either can't control their emotions/behaviours or struggle to express them.

As far as red flags go, these are comparatively pink, like a teenage girl's fantasy of bad boys. It does still romanticise common het tropes (and this is just het romantic drama recast with boys and extra shower/fake sex scenes) like being the one who'll change him - even if the one who does is another fantasy bad boy. So I'm both wary of what this normalises and aware that this is a drop in the bucket of what we all see.

When it settles down, it does makes some stabs at exploring the characters' emotions with a fair bit of intelligence. Points for that, although it's all brief. Friends give good advice, eventually it's listened to and poof, the magic of love prevails. After some more melodrama from the relationships of course, since that's what drives the story. It's not like there's anything else.

I lost count of how many katoey characters they wrote in to serve as bitchy girls (with suitable genitalia of course) to be defeated by the true love of our heroines, erm heroes.

Anyway, it has some good moments amongst the questionable ones but overall it's not great drama. James did deliver his girl-coded bad boy Sher reasonably well.
