Loving It

This drama is absolutely amazing so far. I would suggest if you enjoy the drama, Mr. Queen, you would enjoy this one also as it has the same premise though different in certain aspects. But the main consensus is that both of the female leads our chefs and it’s very interesting to see. Also, the comedy in this drama though cringe at times is well played out and doesn’t leave anything feeling flat. I will say we already did get a kiss by episode episode four which was really surprising, but I like how instead of the kiss basically destroying the story like it does in some K dramas it’s progressing the story in a good way and they’re not dwelling on it too much but they’re not completely ignoring it. I’m very excited to see where this drama goes overall. I feel like Kim Yoona has gotten a lot of flake for her acting in King the land but I feel like she’s improved a lot. And I also love the most recent episodes this subtle reference to Gee. Anyways, so far this drama is going good and I’m hoping it’s going to stay on the right track. I will say by the end I’m predicting a nice rewatch value. I will say when I first started watching it the male lead was making me overly angry but overtime I’ve come to understand everything.

Title: Jin Ri Tian Qing Yi Ai Ni is a very good romance vertical miniseries with ML: Zhu Yi Wei (as Gu Han Song) and FL: Bai Xin Yi (as Li Xin Yi /Xu Muran) in the leading couple’s role. This drama revolves around Gu Han Song and Li Xin Yi’s lives as they come together after a one night stand where they were both drugged by people that they knew who had different agendas. Gu Han Song had already liked the female from their unexpected foreboded encounter with Li Xin Yi when she was escaping an arranged marriage and took him for a chauffeur. After the one night stand, she gets pregnant and, even though there was a misunderstanding that is cleared early into the drama, they get married and a story of a beautiful love begins. Both leads are strong minded characters with great values and steadfast feelings toward each other. It is endearing seen how Han Song becomes desperate to find Li Xin Yi after she was kidnapped and saves her from attempting to die while she is in a state of despair and desperation. From then on, a strong bond starts to form and they learn how to trust each other and grow deeper in love. Great romance story, enjoy it!

A Masterpiece People Are Sleeping On

I don’t usually write reviews, but Shadow Love has completely blown me away, and I feel like more people need to know about it. This is easily my favorite drama of 2025, and trust me, I’ve watched a lot.

The premise itself is fresh and bold: a superhero story set in ancient China. It feels like a clever answer to Marvel’s global success, but instead of copying, the production makes it uniquely Chinese in both spirit and execution. The world-building is rich, the action is sharp, and the storytelling ties it all together in a way that feels both modern and deeply rooted in tradition.

At 38 episodes you’d expect some drag or rushed arcs, which is a problem in many long Chinese dramas. But not here. The pacing is masterful. Every storyline is given enough space to breathe, and nothing feels confusing or underdeveloped. I never once felt lost, and every subplot tied back beautifully to the main narrative.

And then there is the chemistry. Cheng Lei and Song Yi absolutely light up the screen together. I know some people hesitate to watch because they are hung up on Cheng Lei’s previous roles or Song Yi’s off-screen rumors, but honestly, that is a shame. Their on-screen connection is electric, mature, and natural. They bring out the best in each other. And yes, Cheng Lei has plenty of shirtless scenes sprinkled throughout, which definitely does not hurt (I may have replayed a few too many times.....🥺🥺)

Speaking of Cheng Lei, he was born for action roles. His fight scenes are exhilarating, but what impressed me more was his range. In his previous dramas, he often played cold, domineering types. Here, he is carefree, playful, and charismatic, yet still deadly when needed. His ability to switch between these personas shows just how versatile he really is.

As for Song Yi, this was my first drama with her, and I’m stunned. Some viewers have criticized her use of a bow as her main weapon, calling it impractical, but honestly, her fight choreography is still compelling. What really sets her apart, though, are her emotional performances. Few dramas have ever made me cry the way Shadow Love did, and that is largely thanks to Song Yi’s ability to embody grief and vulnerability with such raw power.

Overall, Shadow Love is a drama that deserves way more attention than it is getting. It is not just another historical fantasy. It is a rare combination of gripping storytelling, stellar performances, and unforgettable chemistry. If you are sleeping on it, you are missing out on what I would confidently call the best drama of the year.

This series is beyond Great

I absolutely loved this series! Normally, I’m not a fan of waiting for weekly episode releases, but this show had me eagerly counting down the days for each new episode. The characters felt so alive, and I was completely hooked from start to finish. I truly hope others enjoy it as much as I did, and like many fans, I’m really hoping we get a Season 2—fingers crossed the director is already working on it!

p*rn not plot 10/10

maybe I’m just high, but this is getting full stars because it was literally just an excuse to film some pretty men banging and I support that so much

okay there was *some* attempt at plot (faceless!changmin hooked up with teacher once, couldn’t get over him and sent his buddy to find him; but why was teacher trying to hide from changmin? the almost!plot thickens!)

I literally only clicked to watch this because it was listed under new kdramas and now I’m wondering if it was supposed to be there 😂

ive now discovered this is actually the side story to something else, so im gonna have to go watch that now

I've tried twice, but still can't stand to finish it.

I first tried watching this a year or two ago because of the high ratings, but I couldn’t go further than episode 1.

Now, two years after it came out, and after finishing Twelve Letters where I really liked the ML, I came back to give this another shot. But it still can’t catch my heart. I had to keep speeding and skipping through because it’s just boring and cliche. The ML’s acting is actually worse than the FL’s, and the story feels childish. Especially when you come watching this right after Twelve Letters, surely it makes you feel like this is a kids’ play.

This time I pushed myself to 3 episodes (as well as skidding through a couple of ep.10+ and the ending), but the feeling hasn’t changed. I wanted to drop it just 10 minutes in. It’s bubbly, shallow, and has no real essence. I honestly don’t get why the score is so high.

Waste of time.

Fun till about episode 7 or so, then it becomes so stupid with plot holes so big, it deserves to be studied.

So congratulations to Head Over Heels for being the first ever Studio Dragon work that I dropped midway.

Also it's 2025, stop giving a romance story an unnecessary dumb triangle like this.

I can’t move on from the Defects

I cried so much in this drama, wishing that the would all survive and get to live freely, c’mon all they ever wanted was to survive, but that evil bitch just wanted to get rid of all of them cause of her past, I hate her the most in this drama, Jung hyun only followed her footsteps just to survive. I cried so hard I had headaches when Seok-su and Jung hyun died they didn’t deserve to die, i wanted them to survive I wanted Seok-su to live freely because he suffered the most, he deserves to be loved, his death caused me emotional distress😭. Jung hyun just had to pay for his sins but not with his dead cause he was one of my favorite characters🥹. Nevertheless I’m still thrilled the others get to survive even tae sik, i don’t know how I’ll ever move on from this drama thinking about it makes me cry, maybe I should watch more of this drama when I’m going through alot so I can cry freely without worries. Thank you to the writers who created this masterpiece I hope you continue to make more dramas like this annyeong.

Incredibly Frustrating

This isn't going to be a review in the normal sense but instead something for you to read as you watch or read after you've watched it. lol It's just notes i took while watching. Next time I'll have to timestamp or at least put what episode I'm on.

So I'm already confused. I didn't feel like watching the entirety of season 2 all over again and I figured the recap would be enough, but why is 456 SO mad at 388? It says online he failed to get him ammunition because he got too scared and had a panic attack. He's acting like this man betrayed him intentionally. Or has he just snapped?

And if 333 betrays her ISTG.

I'm so upset that 120 died. She went back to save them and that horrible little boy killed her!! I hope he dies. Him and his little psychopath friend.

I'm sorry but leaving the room and saying it's too dangerous to stay in the room with the baby when they've been in there for ages and there' s like two minutes left is the is the dumbest decision ever. I hope it doesn't backfire.

Omg the old lady's grown son has always been such a loser. The audacity. I wish he had died ages ago. She is too kind with him. Probably why he is the way he is. OMG she killed him bc he was gonna kill the one girl!?!? Wowwwww.

This is the problem with Netflix making Korean dramas. Not only do they make them super slutty, which is not what I watch kdramas for, the English actors are always horrendous. And I noticed the VIPs are all White men. Real shocker there. Surprised to see one Asian female as a part of the VIPs this time.

Btw... what is with this insane AI looking baby?? lol

NOOOOO NOT THE DOG!!!!

Why tf isn't 456 just showing that guy off the ledge? To stop him from pushing everyone else off?

Omg he's going to push him isn't he!? 456 should've shoved his a**.

I know she's going through a lot but it's selfish to kill yourself and leave the burden of your baby on someone else. Especially after MULTIPLE people died protecting you. Also, how's he going to feed YOUR baby!?

This is frustrating. He just wouldn't listen that captain was a bad guy.

No shot they're letting these two walk out. The boat is going to explode when she starts it or something right?'

Wow, baby daddy guy just gets worse and worse.

Didn't they announce that players couldn't harm each other anymore? So is this offer a trap? Also, I'm gonna be mad if 456 doesn't take it. All of those men were happy to kill a baby to win. Including the baby's father. They should die.

I can't believe he didn't do it. They were laughing and thrilled to take the baby out the next day.

I know I've said this so many times but "baby daddy" really is a horrendous POS. And how stupid are these six guys who have repeatedly backstabbed each other yet they're happy to trust one another.

I don't believe 333 at all. He says she didn't trust him and I don't either. OMG WHY DID HE DO THAT!? They already had people out! Why not save the old dirtbag for the last round!?!?!

Why would you offer to let 333 take you out and escape with the baby when he's shown nothing but a desire to kill that baby?

If 456 and the baby aren't the two who wind up leaving, and instead its this little p*ss ant "father" I'm going to lose it.

OMG! The button wasn't pressed!? GTFOH. He's going to kill himself and who's gonna take the baby!? WAIT - 011 maybe!?

Sorry but this is bogus. He's going to die to save her kid? He has his own kid out in the world. Sorry but she hooked up with a loser, then joined this game, multiple people died protecting her and the baby, then she kills herself and pawns her kid off on a stranger knowing damn well the only way for said stranger to "keep her baby alive" is to kill himself. Like wtf.

Also I know it's minor but put the f*cking baby away from the edge.

And you're trusting them to actually go get the baby and care for it!? Like it doesn't make any f*cking sense.

I love that she went back to see him thriving in his life but I hate the pretending you don't know him crap.

It feels like I finished it and just got back to reality, like I just woke up from a dream

This drama made me feel a million emotions at once from beginning to the end. I don’t think I’ve ever been so invested emotionally in 2 fictional characters’ happiness
The story was gripping, the characters were so well developed, the actors did amazing! I really felt like this was real and I cried when they cried, laughed when they laughed, got angry when they were
Everyone is relatable, past and present, their pain and their happiness are tangible!

SPOILER:
I just finished and I don’t even know how I feel, happy for Hai Tang and Tang Yi Xun but it’s a bit bittersweet because of Yu Nian and Shen Cheng
I really wanted them to change the past but when I realized at the end she lost her dad… it’s saying goodbye to someone but knowing they had a better life
It was the right ending, but it’s still a hard reality, so I’m happy and sad at the same time

Short and Sweet

It's a cute, easy little drama. Doesn't demand anything of audience, its pure time passing entertainment and it goes fast, each episode is about 12 minutes. The lead actors are both sweet.0 I quite like Song Ha Yoon having first seen her as a psycho villain in Marry My Husband. She was excellent in that. I know there are some troubling controversies about her in real life but short of something being proven in court I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. There's way too much character assassination on social media in the Kdrama world that I don't want to be part of.

Good Show

I enjoyed this show. It's nothing grand just a simple legal drama with some really good cases. Most outcomes were based on someones moral beliefs and I was fine with that. Legal shows will alway be a bit overtly dramatic and blur lines with legality and moral ambiguities. What I found the most different as a person from the States watching is that there were no juries in the cases and some may have had different outcomes had there been. It's also a different perspective seeing the Korean civil litigation aspect.

What I loved the most about the show is the cast. They all meshed well together! Hyo Min is also one of my favorite FLs in a long time. I just really liked her character. I like Min Joeng too! Things I could care less about were the office politics and Seok Hoon's ex-wife and her childish husband!

The case that broke me the most was in the 2nd episode. I bawled my eyes out. I was wishing I found someone who could love me that much.

If I were a pick, I'd always choose you

This was very cute. I’m a sucker for a fake dating story and having a music trope and college setting just adds to the love.

Acting:

Everyone did a damn good job with their roles in this. I even got a couple good crier moments with Win shedding some tears, which I love. I was pleasantly surprised by the performances in this. The casting was superb for these roles. Bright and Win were absolutely perfect for Tine and Wat. The supporting cast was solid all the way through as well.

Writing:

I love a fake dating situation and add in that Wat was a pining fool for over a year prior is the cherry on top. I think it was pretty darn good up until that 3rd act breakup which I hated. It left no time for me to see a lovey-dovey happy ending. I want more than one time skip scene. But like, I get it, that’s kind of par for the course. I really enjoyed the show regardless, and the script was solid throughout. Didn’t love the use of female characters solely to make the mcs jealous, but it is a tropey bl, so like, not surprising. Don’t love all the misunderstandings and miscommunications, but at the same time it wasn’t absolutely horrendous the entire time and I’ve seen couples who are worse at communicating in my friend group so…

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

They had some damn good chemistry. They worked well in every stage of the relationship and it was lovely to watch. This was a very cute romance. The kissing was a but too light for a college romance in my opinion. I expect a little more, especially after they made up like why are we only high fiving.

Music/SFX:

Music was great. I actually loved that they didn’t use overly-produced recordings in the singing scenes, it made it feel real and raw which I haven’t really seen in a drama yet. SFX were good.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Ahh yes a boyfailure
- Bro is dreamy
- Bi panic too real
- This is so cute what
- Bro is DREAMY
- Bro has Nirvana which is obv but also a 2013 Pierce the Veil, Mayday Parade You and me at Six & All Tim Low concert poster????? My man
- This little soon-to-be-awakened bi boy needs to chill
- Oh no baby is hurting stop hurting baby
- That’s so many photos baby down bad fr
- Boy denser than osmium
- *I'm just drunk again. I'll be drunk again. I'll be drunk again. To feel a little love*
- *Don't tell me what I wanna hear. Afraid of never knowning fear. Experience anything you need. I'll keep fighting jealousy. Until it's fucking gone*
- *Tell me why I see you in. Everything, everywhere all the timе. You follow me like a shadow
From you, therе's nowhere that I can hide. Life here without you's so shallow. And I wanna call you, but I don't. Ever wanna be the reason for tears that you cry. Everything, everywhere all the time. Wish I could forget you, but I won't. You’re everything, everywhere*
- Alright, fine. This show gets a playlist too I can’t help myself teehee
- Bro got me giggling
- His friends kinda suck
- *Suburban living with a feeling that I'm giving up everything for yoooooou*
- I hate it here
- Cuteeeee
- Why are we lyyyingggggg boy don’t piss me offfff
- Daaamn boys, moving a little fast, aren’t we
- PRECIOUSSS
- CUUUTE the PICK so CUUUTE
- Still 3 episodes left tho… Don’t put me through too much now
- *Not talk it out, now talk it out*
- Or not…
- Honey, sweetheart, can we take some deep breaths and think this through before we do something we regret
- Yeahh.. You really could’ve avoided all of this if you had explained things about Pam to your boyfriend, recommended a guitar teacher to her, and addressed everything properly when you say issues arising. This is almost entirely on you, Mr Dreamy
- Just talk it out after you chill for a minute, don’t give me this 3rd act breakup bs
- Bro, you walked in on a public hug, relax. The song thing is something to talk about, not flip your lid over. Jesus.
- Okay RELAX there, little man with the Bags by Clairo vibes
- Fucking 3rd act breakups always leave like 2 minutes of joy at the end

Brilliant drama!!

I really enjoyed watching this drama.
The plot was totally new with the male lead showcasing 3 roles as Jin'an, Prince Annan and Xuanyike(Man in black) and Cheng Lei , effortlessly played the 3 characters perfectly. He was Outstanding in his performance💯and had a good chemistry with Song Yi, who played Li Shuang, the female general of Taijin.
Song Yi's acting was also excellent.
I liked the characters of Lu Xin and Mo yin too. Shi Ce and Darren Chen were perfect in their roles.
Bi Wenjun excelled as Su Muyang and all the other actors were excellent!!
The plot, music, screenplay, pacing, costumes, locations, special effects, everything were good👍
The fight scenes were good, especially when the man in black appeared.
Finally, though there may be few flaws and few boring moments/episodes, but still it is a WORTH WATCHING DRAMA, which made me feel anxious sometimes and kept me on the edge of my seat for few episodes.
A perfect emotional, romance, fantasy drama 👌🤗
