Our wish is world peace.
The actor's acting is very good. I look forward to three rides.Ah, I just couldn't hold my breath when I saw his broken finger. Then every time he tried to wipe Ran Ran's tears, he felt cautious and timid. Oh, my God, I'll forget about crying. Those who say that they don't look good only see superficial things, such as actors who don't perform according to their ideas, such as love in the play. It's not that love is not worth mentioning, but that when survival becomes a luxury, all the weaknesses of human nature will be revealed, and love will be especially precious. There are many slow motions in the play. When danger approaches at any time, these slow motions are actually a kind of seemingly beautiful cruelty, and at the same time, it seems that they are deeply attached to the beautiful present, just like believers pray for miracles. Was this review helpful to you?

Everything was perfect
What can I say? Everything was perfect—acting, direction, writing, and chemistry between all the actors. Especially in episodes 37 and 38, Che Zhe Yuan showed what great potential as an actor lies in him. For me, the ending is perfect because the previous cause of his PTSD has been replaced with his last experience, the fear of the death of Song Ran. However, their love still holds them together, no matter how damaged Li Zan's soul is; Song Ran wants to be together with him because she loves him, and they elope. As a couple, they want to work through this trauma alone, not being observed by family and friends. That's life; not everything is rose-colored; when you genuinely love someone, you sometimes have to live through his pain.PS Ep 37+38 were a punch in the stomach, and I cried my heart out. 😭😭😭

Forever

Best drama
This drama can only be described as "emotional damage" and it's a pain you can't stop watching.Watching this I felt like masochist because it was painfull but i found myself watching till 5 am.
Conclusion: go suffer like me because it's worth every penny I gave for buying boxes of tissues.
And don't forget to drink water while you suffer so you stay hydrated

A story of Strength and Courage: Embracing Struggles and Moving Forward
Li Zan was a man with a kind heart—full of love, warmth, and determination. Watching his journey from that to battling his inner demons was absolutely heartbreaking. He couldn't change what happened to him in the Eastern country, but when he returned home, he made the choice to be happy. That takes immense strength. Chen Zheyuan was phenomenal as Li Zan—this is, without a doubt, his best role yet. Seeing his growth from Duan Jiaxu to Lin Shobai to now Li Zan, it’s clear how much he has evolved as an actor.Song Ran started off as a weaker character, but she grew as the show progressed. Her love for Li Zan is selfless and beautiful—she would do anything to stay by his side.
The show also boasts stunning cinematography and a beautiful OST! Scenes like the moonlight dance, their heartfelt conversation outside the restaurant, the bromance between the male leads, and the deep brotherhood between Sa Xin and Benjamin were some of the highlights. The way war impacted different people was portrayed so well—Sia finding comfort in her pet Zan after losing Zoro, the orphanage kids finding joy despite their circumstances, and even a soldier getting married against the ruins of a war-torn city. It all goes to show that no matter how much life takes away, it always finds a way to move forward.
That said, the show wasn’t perfect. The excessive slow-motion scenes and the dragged-out dating phase felt out of place given the overall theme. They could have trimmed down several episodes to keep the pacing tighter.
But ultimately, all the characters got the endings they deserved—Sa Xin at university changed his name to Ben as a tribute to his brother Benjamin, Jiang Lu topping his exams, Lou reading the book, Shen Bei volunteering with kids, Dr. Pei living the way Ben wanted her to, and finally, the leads—who got married and built their own little world of happiness. I don’t understand why some consider this a sad ending. To me, it’s perfect. Some scars never fade, and Li Zan’s was one of them. But instead of giving up, he embraced his reality and chose to live with it. That kind of acceptance takes courage.
This isn’t a sad story; it’s an inspiring one. It teaches us to embrace our struggles—like PTSD—and find a way to live beyond them. The show beautifully depicts the lasting effects of war on everyone it touches. I’d recommend it to anyone—there’s so much strength, love, and hope to take away from it.

Beautiful But Betrayed
I started The White Olive Tree with high hopes. The premise was beautiful — two people who met in chaos, found light in each other, and fought their way through trauma and conflict. By episode 11, I was emotionally invested. Song Ran felt like a rare female lead: brave, empathetic, principled — someone whose strength came from both heart and resilience. But after reading how it ends, I’ve decided to stop. I will not watch 27 more episodes just to see heartbreak
Throughout the show, she sees people surviving through war, poverty, loss — and still choosing life. Refugees. Orphans. How people stands up to help each others. These moments shape her. She learns that survival isn’t weakness. It’s power. She starts writing stories that capture the courage of people who, even in rubble, refuse to die.
So why, after all that growth, does she just walk into death with Li Zan? I understand his choice — PTSD is a monster, and he was deeply broken. But she wasn't. She was still fighting. Still writing. Still standing. She had light left in her, and instead of carrying it forward, the show makes her disappear under a tree in some poetic suicide pact.
It doesn’t feel earned — it feels like the writers gave up on her arc to make the ending “deep” or “artistic.”
The novel ending made more sense: she lives, writes their story, and later dies saving a life. That’s the Song Ran I believed in — someone who honors the dead not by dying, but by continuing. By turning grief into meaning.
Beautiful cinematography. Beautiful acting. Solid production. But the message? A disappointment.

Very good and love ????
Very very good drama, in terms of story, acting, plot, music. Please..... You should watch it and don't forget to support this drama. The first episode already made me fall in love and smile to myself. I even went back to watch this. And I am willing to subscribe to VIP Premium. This drama reminds me of descendant of the sun. Only the story is more beautiful the white olive tree. You know every minor character is packed with details of their background. Liang Jie and Chen Zheyuan's acting is beyond doubt. The only military romance drama that can compete with Korea's DOTS. And yes, I have watched several Korean remakes of dots before. Both from Thailand and Vietnam and China my Hero. However, the only one that can bring the romantic Drakor vibes is twot. Chen Zheyuan deserves this award. He has repeatedly shaken up the overseas market in China. Was this review helpful to you?
Amazing so far
I've been thoroughly enjoying this drama so far and eagerly await more episodes to be posted. From the outset, one of the standout features has been the music - it's simply amazing. Each track complements the scene it accompanies, enhancing the emotional depth and setting the tone perfectly. Whether it's the suspenseful background scores or the poignant melodies during the more heartfelt moments, the music has been a highlight that has significantly enriched my viewing experience. The acting across the board has been commendable. Each actor brings their character to life with authenticity and nuance, making the narrative all the more engaging. The main leads have a chemistry that feels genuine, which is crucial for the story's progression. Supporting actors aren't left behind; they add layers to the storyline with their performances, ensuring that every character, no matter how brief their screen time, leaves an impact.
What's particularly refreshing is how the script balances drama and development, keeping the plot moving without sacrificing character growth. This balance is not always easy to achieve, but here, it's done with finesse. The dialogue is sharp, and the pacing feels just right, which is a testament to good writing and direction.
This is actually my first review for any drama in the last 3-4 years on this site. The combination of an intriguing plot, stellar performances, and an exceptional soundtrack has compelled me to share my thoughts. I look forward to seeing how the series unfolds in future episodes, hoping it continues to maintain this high standard.

Rooted in The Depth of Emotions
This has to be one of the most deeply romantic series that I have seen in a long time. It is really well paced, and there is a beautiful amount of time lent for story development and the development of multiple character's with varying backgrounds. We get full development of how our main character's lives interconnect and how they get to know one another. I really appreciate the emotional depth because the Director and Team are tackling intricate topics such as judgement, war, journalism, integrity, judgement, gossip, and cyber bullying. It is very poetic, and engaging with a nostalgic romance, one with the fusion of naive innocence and shared trauma of horrific conflict conditions. As a C-Drama it is tackling the taboo of mental health and showcasing how important it is to support each other in healing. I've seen some low ratings which have skewed the overall average some saying they have seen the entire series when only 14 episodes have been released...so be wary of those rating this incredibly low. It is at minimum a 7 and only if you are the type of viewer who doesn't appreciate the well developed back story and prefers fast action based story telling. There is fine attention to detail and so this is a very artistic series and I am really hoping that we as the viewer get to heal a long with our characters because it is quite heavy and plucks the heart strings with force. I am enjoying our actors and seeing them in a more diverse emotional landscape! Check it out - especially if you are a die hard romantic. This is looking to be an epic romance if it doesn't tank at the end.Was this review helpful to you?
A heartbreaking and tragic story with commendable performances by the actors
I would like to comment that this is the best storyline among all the movies I've seen. From the beginning of the story, the joy, the pain of war, and the results achieved by the heroes deeply resonated with me. The heroes sacrificed their lives to save others and protect them from the harms of war, doing so out of their passion. However, what they received in return were losses and deep emotional scars. What stands out in this movie is the remarkable acting performances. The acting of all the actors made it impossible for the audience not to shed a tear. Was this review helpful to you?
