Review for Season 1 & 2 together!
This review is for seasons 1 and 2. Both seasons are fantastic. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has a splendid relationship that develops into a beautiful, steadfast, and heartwarming romance with very good chemistry. It is refreshing to see He Lian Xuan (played by Wang Zu Yi) and Leng Li/A Qi (played by Wen Mo Yan), two very intelligent characters, as they get closer and stronger to become a devoted power couple. Since it is a miniseries divided into two seasons, it is best to see one right after the other to appreciate that, although the production is not perfect, the both seasons are well done in matters of production value. These miniseries have a substantial plot that could have been better served if turned into a long format drama. Overall, both seasons are worth watching and entertaining. Enjoy it!Was this review helpful to you?

Great acting, confusing plot
36 episodes. 10min each. 2 seasons.First time watching 10-minute episodes. That was not a satisfactory experience. At times, I thought I skipped episodes because it made no sense.
- The third Prince was at times evil and others a lover. He loved Qi yet murdered her. He loves Xuan yet sets her up to be raped
- finally, the Fifth Prince becomes Emperor and makes promises to share rooms with Li… yet she disappears for a years
- out of the out-the-blue King of poison becoming her mother
- Qi/Li was a maid but a kung-fu master and genius doctor
- the mystic master coming out of the blue
- the second Prince who existed only to be killed
So many things made no sense or were left blank or ridiculous.
I want to highlight that, while the performances of the actors and actresses were great, I couldn't help but notice a stark contrast between the physical appearances of the main couple. She looked like a mature woman while he looked like a young man. Unfortunately, this was the only drama where the female lead had a prominent role, despite being in the industry since 2021. She deserves better. My guess is that her voice and physical appearance don't seem to be a good fit for young adult dramas which are the most popular, as they prefer a high-pitched teen voice and a youthful face. Perhaps she would be better suited for contemporary dramas. It is sad because she is an excellent actress.
The male lead was outstanding, but his appearance was more fitting for teenage or young adult dramas. While their acting was great, the chemistry between the two leads felt off, probably because they didn't match well.
I strongly believe that adult actors should look like adults, not like teenagers. Sadly, we don't see this often in costume dramas.
Overall, it was a watchable drama, but I don't see myself rewatching it anytime soon.

Pretty good for a short drama.
I love the fact that their marital life was realistic. It was a good development.I really like the fact that FL wasn't the typical woman/child we see in so many drama...
The story is not perfect, but when we compare this short drama with short drama from the same category, we can appreciate the storyline, and developing of the storytelling.

cute and short
I started watching this show in English subtitles on YouTube from March 7th to March 15th. I would say it is a 10-12-minute show and I can definitely finish the Chinese drama show. This show does have season 1 and season 2 which contains all the episodes. I would say I really enjoyed the opening song of the show. In the beginning when Qi was running away but it doesn't explain why she is running away. Did Qi do something bad and that's why she is running away which I don't have any clue for the answer that she did? I would say the way Chen stabbed Qi was brutal. These episodes are in season 1. There are two things that I don't quite understand is when Li is in the wedding carrier in episode 1 when she refers to her as Qi and in episode 11 is when Xuan asks her about her childhood when she refers to her as Li. I find it funny how Xuan was pretending to fall down. I found is season 1 episode 5, season 1 episode 10, season 1 episode 11, season 2 episode 2, season 2 episode 5, and season 2 episode 17.Was this review helpful to you?

AKA: The Drama I Shouldn’t Have Stuck Around to See
This review is for both Seasons 1 and 2 combined.Season 1 was a masterclass in setup. Watching it felt like witnessing the perfect pool break—transmigration, layered court intrigue, and two leads playing emotional chess while pretending not to know the rules. The suspension of disbelief? Automatic. After dozens of soul-swap dramas, logic is a luxury. What mattered was the tension: both leads hiding their true identities, yet somehow earning each other’s trust through mutual deception. It was riveting, deliberate, and emotionally earned.
But Season 2? That’s where the table started warping. The hypocrisy wasn’t between couples—it was between the leads themselves. Leng Li kept her hidden identity under wraps for most of the series, yet turned around and judged He Lian Xuan for not revealing his alter ego, Qing Ru, sooner. The irony was loud, and the emotional logic started to crack. Qing Ru, who was magnetic and layered in Season 1, faded into the background in Season 2. His presence was diluted, his complexity flattened. Apparently, he was only lovable when he was clueless and harmless. Once he stepped into awareness? He became narratively disposable.
Midway through Season 2, I was ready to throw hands. The clean geometry of Season 1’s setup—where every shot felt intentional—gave way to narrative scratches. I expected bank shots and clever reversals. Instead, I got missed opportunities and emotional regression. The romance, once sharp and sly, started giving sibling energy: more bickering and emotional babysitting than actual heat.
And the worst part? I didn’t walk away. I stayed, hoping the drama would pull off a miracle jump shot and redeem itself. It didn’t. What started as a smart, emotionally grounded story turned into a slow unraveling of its own premise. This drama had the setup, the stakes, and the spark. But by the end, it forgot how to play the game it taught us to love.

This drama is actually amazing
I know it's not very free in China to film real kisses abd caressing in bed but when some short dramas actually provide it I can't not to be feeling flattering and that's more than I could ever ask for and the story isn't even bad it's actually very interesting and entertaining abd the way I watch it it actually have normal subtitles and the ML and FL are very lovely actors aside the most mesmerizing kisses abd bed acting abd the FL have very adult character which is as it should be a d ML is quite handsome as well and his acting is actually satisfying as it's usually with every single ML but FL is surprisingly in this drama very serious s d mature womanWas this review helpful to you?
