JUST CHOO YOUNG WOO & CHO YIHUN (they killed it~!!!!)
First of all, they really should have stuck to the original plan of 16 episodes, but despite that, it's still a pretty good drama to watch for me. I'm so glad it had a happy ending, though I must admit the 11th episode felt a little out of place. Nevertheless, the entire drama was such a great watch; I truly, truly enjoyed it, and it has now added its place among my favorite dramas.I absolutely loved how they portrayed such genuine yet cute friendships, and the three main leads were simply wonderful to watch. Our cutie lead, Jiho, showed such a pure and straightforward kind of love, which was incredibly refreshing to see. And GyeonU, our absolute best man – the way he patiently waited for and searched for SeongA, and she who with all her might and will was protecting him always, showcased a truly pure and beautiful love. It was heartwarming to witness how they now have only each other to depend on, but now the addition all the friends is so heartwarming to see.
Regarding the storyline, it presented such a fresh concept and genre. While I initially wished for more emphasis on the 'romance' aspect, it beautifully evolved into a thriller-tearjerker-comedy.
As for the acting, the trio of "Cho" absolutely nailed it. Their acting skills were top-notch, especially in their emotional and crying scenes, which were incredibly impactful. I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone looking for a heartwarming, yet heartwrenching drama.

A Whirlwind of Emotions, Etched in Magic and Love
From the very first episode, Head Over Heels doesn’t just pull you in—it wraps itself around your heart with a spell of fantasy, mystery, and romance. It’s not just a drama; it’s a living, breathing symphony of emotions—where sorrow and joy, love and hate, laughter and tears, and the warmth of friendship, all come alive in perfect harmony..Park Seongha is sunshine incarnate—fiercely kind, endlessly loving, and a quiet warrior for those she holds dear. Her bond with Gyeonwoo is the heart of this drama—soft, slow, healing. Watching her guard and nurture him, as the world turned its back, was like watching spring melt winter away. And when he smiled—finally, truly smiled—it felt like the world paused just to feel it.
Gyeonwoo, with his quiet grief and aching solitude, is a soul you never forget. His transformation from cold to childlike warmth through Seongha’s love is simply breathtaking. And the pain of losing his halmeoni? It breaks you—but also reminds you how deeply he loved, and how much he deserved to be loved.
Pyo Jiho, the perfect second lead, is a rare gem—supportive, kind, handsome beyond words, and the very definition of green-flag energy. And let’s not forget Bongsu—our ghostly third lead, chaotic and hilarious, yet heartbreakingly gentle. Who knew a spirit could steal our hearts so completely? The third lead syndrome is hitting so hard or should i say ghost syndrome??!! 💔💫
When Seongah said everyone likes Bongsu more than Gyeonwoo, it shattered me. It was a quiet truth—proof of how painfully alone he must have been, carrying misfortune like armor just to survive. Seongah is the color in his grayscale world, the one person who saw him beyond his walls.
Even Jiho, despite their rivalry in love, feels like a rare friend who truly cares for his well‑being. That makes it all the more devastating—just as Gyeonwoo begins to taste warmth, laughter, and belonging, life drags him back into the darkness. It’s heartbreak, painted in the softest hues of love and friendship.
Bongsu broke me. 😭 The way he so gently cared for Seongah as she endured punishment—how could anyone hate him? He’s not just a ghost; he’s a lost child, a poor soul craving love 💔, clinging to the only warmth he’s ever known. Yes, he grew greedy 😔, but it came from a place of yearning—just wanting to live, to stay by Seongah’s side as if that could heal the gaping wound of his short, unfinished life.
And when he called her “Budangah” three times… 😢 you could feel his pain, his inability to voice the heartbreak of feeling betrayed, unseen, unloved the way she loves Gyeonwoo. It’s devastating—realizing that no matter how much he gives her, her eyes will never hold him the way they hold Gyeonwoo. 💔 I want my poor Gyeonwoo back in Seongah’s arms, but I also ache for Bongsu—to be comforted 🤍, to release his regrets, to finally be at peace 🕊️. After all, he’s just a little boy who died too soon, carrying all his childhood’s longing and sorrow into the afterlife.
The last two episodes may have been rushed, yet somehow, Head Over Heels still wrapped itself around my heart and refused to let go.
Bongsu in Seongah's body? Savage. A total badass queen 👑 who owned every scene. And that Bongsu–Gyeonwoo kiss? I’m still laughing—absolute comedy gold. But then came something that lives rent‑free in my mind: my Gyeonwoo… my grown‑up Gyeonwoo is sooooo HOTTT!!!! 🔥
But beneath the chaos and laughter, Bongsu broke me. Why did he have to endure such unbearable pain, regret, and guilt—in life and even in death? He was pitiful, yet so deeply human. And through it all, it was heartwarming—achingly beautiful—to see how gently he cared for Seongah, staying by her side like a shadow that loved too quietly.
My poor Gyeonwoo… 😭 He missed Seongah so desperately it hurt to watch. Searching for her for years without rest, willing to throw away his own life without a moment of hesitation just to see her, protect her, make sure she was safe. That is love in its rawest form.
And when he became all alone again? My heart cracked for him. At least uri Jiho stayed, softening that loneliness in the only way he could. And though it was sad—Seongah not graduating with her dear friends—there was comfort in knowing that all of them—Gyeonwoo, Jiho, Doyeon, Jinung, Beom, Juseung, and Hyeri—stayed together, waiting, missing her, keeping her a part of them.
It shattered me when Bongsu cried, whispering “Mianhae for being here,” guilt gnawing at him for living in Seongah’s place, for enjoying what she couldn’t with the people she loved.
And then there’s angry Gyeonwoo—omo, gye wanjeon museowosseo! 😳 But the way he went from shouting at Bongsu to consoling him with a soft, fluffy doll? That contrast—so fierce, yet so tender—was everything.
When Bongsu told Gyeonwoo to die so Seongah could live, my Gyeonwoo said yes. Instantly. Without hesitation. 💔 That one choice spoke louder than words: love, sacrifice, devotion.
And then—the kiss. That long‑awaited, bittersweet kiss between Gyeonwoo and Seongah. 💕 The one that felt like both hello and goodbye. And that simple meal they shared with Jiho? So ordinary, yet so warm—a stolen moment of normalcy in the middle of heartbreak.
My heart ached for Jiho, who quietly ended his first love. Too sad, too selfless.
But oh—the way my babies, Seongah and Gyeonwoo, lived together like a happily married couple, wrapped in laughter, joy, and peace— even if only for a brief moment, it was everything. It made my heart smile, knowing they tasted that happiness.
Then came that one last glance. Gyeonwoo looking at Seongah before walking toward his death to save her. That single look held every unspoken word, every ounce of love.
And Bongsu… from “Budangah, hi (annyeong)” to “Budangah, goodbye (annyeong),” his final request—just to hug Seongah one last time—wasn’t just a farewell. It was a quiet thank you. With a soft smile and a heavy heart, he crossed over—finally at peace, finally home. 🕊️
It hurts—not hearing him call out “Budangah,” not seeing him stir chaos and get on Gyeonwoo and Jiho’s nerves anymore. I’ll miss my savage, badass, yet gentle little Bongsu. Annyeong, Bongsuyah. 👋
And finally, at long last, my Gyeonwoo and Seongah got their well‑deserved, long‑awaited happy ending. <33
Every relationship in this drama—whether it’s Seongha and her shin-eommoni, or Jiho and Gyeonwoo’s unexpected friendship—is laced with warmth, humor, and so much heart. It’s like every thread in this story was stitched with care, and every character lived, not acted.
Head Over Heels is a masterpiece of emotions—where the laughs are real, the tears even more so, and the characters become a part of you.

Writer-nim ghosted the last couple of episodes!
Great start, the team hit the bullseye, but in the last 3 or 4 episodes they got tired, and they tried to wrap it up, but they didn't use the right spell. At first, it was a lot of fun, with a decent writing, and good acting, but let's be real. This is another example when the creators didn't do much with a potential that "Head over Heels" had!
I don't want to talk about the romance, because I don't feel it was the best written part of it, the two main lead did a good job, but I never felt, they're actually in love. So, let's talk about what's actually important.
The show is about Shamans, ghosts, afterlife, and everything that comes with this. We got a great villain, two, actually. Both of them had their reasons, and I can empathize with them, but at the end of the day, they did many bad things to achieve their goals, so the way the writer wrapped up their story was lazy and bland! I don't like when everyone has to get a happy ending, and I'm not even sure what happened with Yeomhwa. Her story was unfinished in my opinion.
And this is my biggest problem, we already knew the real name of Bongsu, they had the chance to ask his name, but they had to stretch the story longer, even did a 3 year time jump, and for what? I'm so done with this nonsense where the so called EXPERT of the show can't come up with a real plan so they have to sacrifice themselves, but in the finale, the guy who doesn't know anything about ghosts can come up with a better one. Seongha has to beg for the help of the Fairy and everything is wrapped up nicely.
This part irritated me the most, because her mom gave up everything, including her life to save both of them, yet Yeomhwa wanted to kill her foster-sister basically, that was her whole plan in 3 years, and Seongha just let the ghost guy to go on rampage, even tho she watched her mom die. Like, you can't be a bigger fool, even if you try.
I'm sorry, but this is just LAZY WRITING! They could've finished the story in episode 10 or 11, and do a slice of life story in the finale. The side characters and both main lead deserved a better ending, not just the same old Kdrama one.
I would've loved a sad ending better than this one, if I'm being honest.
Overall, it's good, and I think I will rewatch it again someday, but I'm really disappointed again with yet another finale!

Good start, unsatisfying ending
This had been such a revival from slump for so many Kdrama lovers out there, but alas, the ending left too much to be desired that made me feel a bit unsatisfied of it.It feels like they lost their own plot along the way from the moment Bong-Su came in. What should've been abt Gyeon-U's struggle of being 'cursed' by his own family suddenly drags on abt an evil spirit that WON'T freaking move along!! Bong Su stopped being cute after few episodes in for me. And talking abt Gyeon-U's family, so they just disappear from the face of the earth, huh? No closure, consequences whatsoever for them???
Also, YeomHwa. Yall, I'm all about a great redemption arc for a villain, esp for villain like her that has a reason to be a villain. But even up till the end, she was ready to kill either Gyeon-U or Seong-A for an easy way out despite her mother that had been willing to die for her. Like, there's not even a courtesy of trying to protect her mother's other daughter, after everything? Yeah, no. I still hate her till the end.
And Seong-A's dream??? ISTG this drama somehow treats their ML all so shitty and didn't give them any proper closure. Seong-A had wanted to graduate, to get to college...but we were only shown her only stuck to the shamanism till the end. Huh.
And the last five minutes of wrapping up everything? Nah, it doesn't feel satisfying at all. It feels so abrupt, out of nowhere, and such a shame because I love, love, LOVE this drama since following it on its 2nd week.

Shamans, Secrets, and Seriously Messy Drama
At first glance, this show feels like Hannah Montana meets mysticism—but there’s way more to unpack. The plot has deliciously messy layers that’ll have you yelling, “Wait, WHAT just happened?” It’s chaotic, in the best way. That said, cramming all this drama into 12 episodes? Bold, but not brilliant. By Episode 10, the pacing hits fast-forward, and storylines feel rushed. A couple more episodes could’ve made this show exceptional instead of just entertaining.
Now, let’s talk Yeom Hwa. Choo Ja Hyun could’ve nailed the villain role, but the writing didn’t do her justice. Her motivations are flimsy, her relationships lack depth, and honestly, why does anyone care about her?
What does shine is the show’s deep dive into shamanism. Most dramas sprinkle in mysticism, but this one goes all-in, showcasing fascinating rituals and traditions that set it apart.
The cast? Pure gold. Choo Young Woo gives us broody Bae Gyeon U and mischievous Bong Su in a way that feels effortless (even if he’s a bit too grown-up for a high schooler). Cho Yi Hyun as Park Seong A? She nails the transition from girl-next-door to mysterious shaman, with emotional growth that feels real.
The ending wraps things up… mostly. While the emotional punches land, some storylines are left hanging. Still, the electric chemistry between the leads and the gripping plot make this a ride worth taking. Flawed, yes, but undeniably fun.

BEST KDRAMA 2025
"Head Over Heels" was the perfect opportunity to reunite for a second time with the beloved cast of School 2021 (a series I simply adored), this time reunited in a fantastic rom-com just the way we love them! From the very first minutes, I was completely captivated by the staging of the shamanic ritual, the meticulous visuals, and especially by the luminous presence of Choi Yi Hyun, whom I'm delighted to see back on screen – she's absolutely resplendent!
Then we enter the "school" part, everything I love in K-dramas: funny, incredible situations, a fresh first-love feel, and a warm atmosphere between the characters.
Very quickly, the plot takes hold: the encounter between our lead and the shaman is breathtaking. A stunning entrance – literally – that immediately announces a touch of strangeness and mystery.
What completely made me fall in love with this drama, beyond the cast, which I adore; it's three things in particular:
1) The ghost stories, all different and deeply touching. Each one hides a powerful dramatic dimension: a baby beaten to death, a child enlisted far too young in a military context... Heartbreaking stories that we discover little by little, accompanied by problems to resolve. As a big fan of series like Ghost Whisperer, I was completely captivated by this human and emotional dimension of the drama.
2) The OSTs! Absolutely sublime. Each piece transported me, and the musical ambiance reminded me a lot of Lovely Runner. And what can I say about Choo Young Woo's angelic voice? A real auditory crush!
3) The Korean shamanic universe. I am literally fascinated! The rituals, the costumes, the amulets... nothing is left to chance. The attention to detail is incredible, right down to that human amulet idea (OMG ❤️). I love this universe so much that I even have big personal projects related to it.
The actors delivered remarkable performances throughout the drama!
I particularly loved Choo Young Woo, who was impressive in a dual role. He perfectly adapts his acting and even his voice to match the soul within him. So much so that we naturally end up forming two teams: Team Bong Su vs. Team Gyeon Wu! A truly powerful, masterful, and nuanced performance.
The supporting actors and the BFF are also real gems! I loved them all:
– the one with his little dog (so endearing),
– the slightly grungy girl,
– the other with her big, expressive eyes,
– and especially the best friend, so perfect: kind, loyal, courageous, caring… a true ray of sunshine in the drama!
As for Choi Yi Hyun, the lead actress, she's simply sublime. Still as sweet, radiant, but also determined. Unlike the lead in Lovely Runner (whom I sometimes found a little annoying despite her willpower), she seemed more nuanced and endearing to me. She embodies emotions with great accuracy, and she brought more than a few tears to my eyes.
On the other hand, I had a lot of trouble with the witch, whom I found very selfish. She gets some pseudo-development towards the end, but it wasn't enough for me to like her.
Finally, the mother and the shaman didn't particularly make an impression on me. They spent their time dictating what to do to the lead, as if they were there solely to "move the story forward." It was more functional than emotional, let's say.
THE ROMANCE:
So, between us, this isn't a drama that stands out for its close relationships because it's mostly academic, but it really had a sweet and innocent chemistry, and I really liked all their interactions, especially the first one when he closed his hand over hers—it was a sublime scene!
The actors deliver accurate, passionate, and sincere performances. Added to this are the captivating music, polished visuals, and a range of deep emotions conveyed through each ghost's story as well as the main plot. All these elements combined give this K-drama the success it fully deserves. Choo Young Woo stands out once again: charismatic, nuanced, expressive… He clearly has a long and promising career ahead of him, regardless of the roles he chooses to take on in the future.
Admittedly, there are some hesitations in the last two episodes, which are a little more muddled and less masterful than the rest of the series. But overall, the main plot is well resolved, and several elements make sense in retrospect, which allows for a generally satisfying ending.
“Head Over Heels” is a drama that deeply captivated me. One of those that we watch with pleasure... and that we don't hesitate to watch again. I can only warmly recommend it!

Head Over Heels: Appearances can be deceiving...
2025 has been a surprising year for stories that rework romantic clichés, and Head Over Heels set out to go beyond just another high school rom-com with a near-love triangle it did so brilliantly. My 9.5 rating is thanks to the cast, especially the leads. Cho Yihyun and Choo Youngwoo's chemistry is beautiful, charming, and dare I say, real. You can feel sincerity in their gestures. Yihyun’s pink tones don’t hint at the depth Sungah carries within, contrasting with the misfortune and melancholy of Gyeonu, who believes that distance is his way of loving others. Their meeting is powerful, and their development is utterly captivating.
A special shout-out to their versatility, they created a third character, Bongsu, who fluidly connects the two, and you really believe in him.
Blending genres like romance, drama, comedy, fantasy, and occult isn’t easy, but it gave Head Over Heels a distinct charm that sets it apart from typical high school fluff.
While the main arc had minor flaws, they didn’t stop me from enjoying the drama it was beautiful, youthful, and fun. I'd definitely watch it again. I hope to see Yihyun and Youngwoo in future projects their chemistry is perfect!

Definitely a 2025 Favorite!
This series made me tear up more than it’s necessary. I love the main characters and their endless quest to sacrifice each other for the other one to survive. The loyalty that comes with friendship and a promise made was executed so well in this series. While the “love” concept seems rushed at first, how it was developed overtime was also very fluid to the storyline. This isn’t just the love that comes romantically; it’s also the love for ones family, friends, and calling in life
Ji Ho, Gyeon Woo, Seong-A, and even Bong Su were quite the team! They were very fun to watch! Their camaraderie with each other was truly admirable. I realized anout the the end of the series that Bong Su isn’t someone one could consider a villain, but was also just a victim of the past. Plus, his antics were both hilarious and freaking heart wrenching.
I wish more was shown and the ending was more developed, but over for a 12 episode series, this was pretty great.

A beautiful pleasent suprise
I walked into this drama with normal expectatio2n, but it’s been an unexpectedly beautiful surprise. The chemistry between the leads is a quiet electricity—natural, effortless, and deeply felt. The plot unfolds like a mystery, layered and captivating. And yes, the many feet-kicking scenes? That's how you do a rom com.
Seong A is a breath of fresh air—a heroine shaped by sorrow, yet not broken by it. Her story is heavy with sadness, but instead of retreating, she reaches out. She moves through the world with purpose, ready to lend a hand, to stand her ground, especially when Gyeon U needs saving. Her strength lies in her persistence.
Gyeon U is a soul weathered by winter. From childhood, he’s known only the cold of indifference, the cold silence of a world that rarely offered him warmth. Only his grandmother stood by him, unwavering. But then came Seong A and Jiho—two beams of sunlight breaking through his long-held shadows, reminding him of gentleness and light.
The bond between the leads is magnetic in the quietest way—filled with tender glances, soft smiles, and unspoken understanding.
And the friendship between Jiho and Gyeon U? A rare gem. It’s refreshing to see a second male lead who carries no bitterness, only genuine care. Jiho’s presence doesn’t stir rivalry, but adds harmony, lifting the story rather than complicating it.
Then there’s Yeom Hwa—a mystery wrapped in sorrow. Each episode peels back another veil, slowly revealing the pain, fear, and desperation that may have driven her to follow a dark path. Her connection to the General is still an unanswered question.
Can't wait to see what awaits us next 💕

Has a very special place in my heart
I cannot adequately put into words how much I love this drama. It's everything and it means so much to me. I don't have a single complaint, I just love it so much: the characters, the setting, the story, the soundtrack, everything. It's so well written and well acted and filmed beautifully and waiting for the next episode was agonising. I'm devastated this drama has ended and I will be looking for another drama that captures what this one does for a very long time. This drama just makes you feel so much, I've cried so many tears, and I adore it. The characters are so real and vivid and my heart bleeds for all of them. Bravo! Was this review helpful to you?
