Good storyline

Will Love in Spring is a beautifully crafted C-drama that left a lasting impression on me. The storytelling is heartfelt, blending romance, growth, and emotional healing in a way that feels genuine and touching. The leads make the journey feel real and deeply moving. The cinematography is elegant, with soft tones and a poetic atmosphere that enhance the mood of the story. I especially appreciated the character development—watching the protagonists evolve individually and together was rewarding. This drama isn’t just about love; it’s about timing and fate. Truly a tender, thoughtful experience worth watching. My taste is always a good storyline plus comedy sense. So I like this drama.

"Let's not live by days, but by seconds."

Will Love in Spring is more of a story of life rather than a simple romance. It's a journey that includes the different people you meet in life and how everyone has value. It's a story of flawed and lovely individuals, different forms of relationships, and how our experiences shape us no matter our age; we're people that consistently change. The characters in this feel like real people, they are some of the most well written three dimensional characters I've seen. They have trauma that follows them the whole story rather than it being used as a plot device.; they have unresolved complexes and flaws that only make them feel more real. They have personalities shaped by their trauma, they have intellect, wisdom, and faults. It's about loss and grief and how that changes how we value life and the people that are a part of it. It changes how scared and how bold we may be to chase after happiness. It's about how love and loss affects grandparents, mothers, fathers, spouses, siblings, and children. Will Love in Spring is a lovely and unique story of life, romance, friendship, family, and the affect that loss has on ourselves.

One of my favorite quotes is between two of the grandmas in the story.
"We started with holding each other's tiny hands, now we're holding each other's wrinkled hands."

Not what i thought it would become

From the title and the synopsis, i thought this would be a wholesome relationship that support eachother from their own shortcoming, but damn i was wrong.

The first half it did a decent, intro of both character and their surrounding, and what goin on, and little playin with both of their feelin.

But another half is not enjoyable, it circling aroung the exact plot over and over again it gets annoying i had to fast forward it everynow and then, an awakward kissing scene from the fl that i almost feel bad for the ml, the arrival of each other ex but they did nothing with each of it, like it could make a great fukin plot for god sake. A lot of plot hole that its confusing till the end.

Well its just me ranting about how i feels abut it, if you like it, you do you, for me its not my cup of tea.

But beside that overall is decent and watchable, but not gonna rewatch it

story of improvement!

I really wanted to see this cdrama because of the different reviews I had read!
I'll be honest, it's not just a romantic story, it focuses more on personal improvement and appreciating family.
Although I love stories like these, I felt that sometimes the script deviated a little, the leading couple was a 10/10 💞 in terms of chemistry but a 7/10 in development above all in the last two chapters adding those twists that left me ????
but in general a passable story with an ost full of very beautiful songs and beautiful settings ✨

Principalmente a Prota!

Contudo, é bem humano, pois a vida é assim. 😄

Emotional drama on healing and love

i really enjoyed the show despite the heavy topics it discussed. both male and female leads portrayed the characters well and there was so much chemistry between them.

the show discussed many emotional topics such as death, family ties, guilt, friendship and more. many plots were tear jerking especially when death is involved.

grandma brought a touch of humour to the show, i liked the way she looked after female lead, forming sisterly bond at the end of the show. step sister he niao niao was a joy to watch.

OST was appropriate with slow ballads...

Cute and Easy Watch with a Mature Backdrop

Just wanted to leave a quick review.
Finished the drama pretty quickly, and while I did skip through some parts, overall I quite enjoyed it.
Our ML and FL are both 30, and reunited after they briefly met in high school. Our FL has a physical disability from an accident, which I found really interesting, since it was quite relevant to certain minor parts of the story.
They do have some up and downs in their relationship, but I found it quite reasonable and I think the way they handled most of them were pretty reasonable. 🩵
The whole love vs. career issue is a big big conflict, and I can see arguments to both sides. Finding someone who loves you immeasurably is really rare, but also being able to build a career to be able to be independent is also something that should be prioritized.
Their chemistry was great🔥, and this was my favorite drama with the FL-- her bubbly character mixed with some pain from the past and her strong stubbornness as a defense mechanism was at the same time lovable and sad to see.
The ML is also great in anything he does. lol
The MAIN genres for this were romance, which they don't drag out at ALL, and family, which was really prominent throughout the drama.
Another solid healing drama👏🏻

it's perfect watch in your free time

kinda suprise its gonna be good drama. everyone need to take a look abt this drama. I loved it. anyway, for the flaw. I couldn't say anything except for selfishness from Zhuang Jie in the middle of the story. it's reasonable, but sometimes Maidong is too kind. if I were him I wouldn't forgive her in just a short time. but yea I forgive her because of the character development. love their acting. it looks real btw.

and I also appreciate about the support character that deliver the emotion so so so well. I don't know what kind of drama is this without them. the siblings scene, grandma, her mother, father, uncle, his friends, her friends just completed this story to a perfect one. I couldn't say it's a perfect 10 because there is no perfect things in this world. ahay

Life's Greatest Equalizer: Death

Will Love in Spring is a show that is quite slow-paced in terms of its romance and other aspects of it, however many great life lessons and inspiring quotes can be pulled from the dialogue.

While the FL can be annoying and many may think that she almost "weighed" the ML too much, I believe that both had their baggage, which is why this show is more of a modern, realistic portrayal of a romantic relationship.

Throughout the show, with the ML's job being an embalmer, death is a main topic that constantly revolves around. People around the main leads (don't want to spoil!) unfortunately pass away, and this leads to the ML, FL as well as his grandmother thinking about what humans should see in death, and why many avoid the topic. I took so many lessons and additional thoughts from the show, and I encourage the viewers to watch this show with an open mind. Death isn't a topic that is addressed in dramas, so I'm glad that the directors and scriptwriters of this show decided to step into undiscovered territory and tackle such as heavy topic and even go further into thinking about why humans tend to avoid the topic via methods like a DNR, or a will.

A tender love story with emotional depth – but not without flaws

I really enjoyed Will Love You in Spring – especially the beginning.
It starts strong, with a touching atmosphere, excellent acting by Li Xian and Zhou Yu Tong, and a promising emotional journey.

The first half is heartfelt and full of quiet, powerful moments. If you're someone who appreciates a slower-paced romance with real emotional healing, this is definitely for you.

However, the story shifts noticeably once the main couple officially gets together.
From that point on, the pacing slows, and the behavior of the female lead became frustrating.
She chooses her career – which is perfectly fine – but instead of treating her partner like an equal, she shuts down emotionally, avoids communication, and withdraws without explanation.
It felt immature and out of sync with the strong character we met at the start.

Despite this, the drama still delivers a meaningful ending and beautiful cinematography. It's a story about grief, growth, and second chances. Not a light-hearted watch – it deals with deep emotions and even grief-related themes (yes, there's a lot of talk about death and letting go).

I cried, I got annoyed, but I was never bored.

Recommended?
Yes – with caution. Don't expect fluff or comedy. This is for a quiet weekend, when you're in the mood for something deep and melancholic, with just enough hope to carry you through.

Only we can decide how we want to live and love

“The first time I truly felt happy is when I knew I have the ability to love my family. Even when I am disabled, it didn’t stop me from providing for them.” Zhuang Jie

~~~~
Zhuang Jie was like any other lady. In fact, she was more charming and chic than your girl next door. Except she had a disability - she lost a leg and her father from a bad accident during her teens.
This trip back to Nanjing was to recuperate from her surgery. She never planned to stay for long. Until she met Chen Maidong, her crush from high school.
Chen Maidong was like any other guy. In fact, he … really was like any other guy. With a granny that worried for his singlehood and aloofness about marriage. With a job at funeral line he held a little more dearly because of his past.
He never planned for his life to be different. Until he met Zhuang Jie.
Will Love in Spring could be a typical romantic contemporary story. What made it stood out and great was firstly, perfect casting choice.
Zhou Yu Tong and Li Xian chemistry as the main leads are on fire! How I love watching romance between adults. Their pull and push. Their fights and getting back together. Their kiss scenes. Purfect!
The supporting characters were great too. Each of them have their personalities which made them memorable and relatable. They aren’t only tools who push the plot forward. Their interactions with the leads and each other give more color and warmth to WLiS and the Nanping town.
First mention is Granny Chen’s and Granny Lin’s friendship - how lovely, being decades of friends. I love the depiction of their friendship which shows from this quote -
“以前是小手拉小手, 一转眼就是老手拉老手.
Last time, we held each other’s small hands, in a blink of an eye, we now hold each other’s old hands.”
The younger representation of equally great friendships were ZJ’s mum / Aunty Wu’s, and of course, ZJ and Wang Xi Xia.
The next mention is the sibling‘s relationship between ZJ, Zhuang Yan and He Niao Niao is another love. This is the kind of siblings we all wish to have. It’s a testament to how successful ZJ’s mum was in bringing them up. I love love their family scenes. Even when ZJ’s mum were scolding and had a more traditional mindset, this is a heartwarming family.
Similarly, Granny Chen and CMD family dynamics is lovely to watch too.
Special mention of Cui Ge and Jisan Goose. They added a lot of humour to WLiS.
With an ensemble like this , everyone one of them made facing all the heavy topics like separations, deaths, long distance relationships, disability, conflicting wants and adulting easier. How lovely and heartwarming.
Next, let’s dive deeper about the main leads love story.
Real and adult are 2 words come to mind.
I seen a lot of comments critiquing ZJ for shamelessly flirting CMD when she didn’t plan to stay long. I judged too - but then again, it’s the kind of judgment that holds a little envy. I envy her boldness of to speak her mind and enjoy the moment. I admire her quick wittedness and willingness to apologise first.
How charming, how attractive and how believable that CMD sunk.
It’s not a bed of roses after they confirmed their feelings for each other. Even when they made blunders and fight, I was satisfied with their resolution.
Some could name ZJ’s and CMD’s relationship toxic. I feel this is how real relationships are like. We stumble. We say things we don’t mean. So long we learn to apologise and we don’t repeat, I think it’s fine.
…well I guess the problem is sometimes we don’t. Thank goodness our leads do in WLiS.
Lastly, funeral makeup artist is no longer an unusual onscreen occupation. With this onscreen job, death is brought up every other episode. If not done well, the empathy for characters who passed away in the story and messages about appreciating life could feel empty and overtly cheesy.
For WLiS, I felt the balance was appropriate. They successfully made me care for the characters, hence, receptive with the subsequent messages that come with each death case that CMD had to handle.
This particular chat he had with someone contemplating suicide touched my heart somewhere. And I hope it reaches you too.
~~~~

“Everyone has times when they are tired of life. The reasons may vary, but the pain will feel the same.

Some family members want to use special coffins, unique urns or expensive headstones to prove the deceased was special.

However, these are all illusions.

Once we die, everyone is the same.
We can only prove how special we are by living well.” Chen Maidong
