The 'Hot Mess' One

We all have that one show on our list that is, on paper, a complete disaster that has you wondering how horny was the writer and how drunk was the editor?

Mine was Love in the Air because, BossNouel's NC scenes swept the floor with everyone else's half hearted attempts LOL

My Stubborn has topped it, as aggressively as Sorn, because at least Love in the Air made sense.

I looked forward to this every Sunday and I can give credit to the stylists who knew what they were doing when they gave Boat that hairstyle.

This reminded me those old school yaoi's I would read in the 00s, on some website, covered in links with all sorts of digital viruses, posted inconsistently in parts by some exhausted student who translated it, and would stop in protest at the mere mention of the next chapter by readers.

Jun is a naive, perpetual child loved by all and often treated like he's five. So of course, Jun most of the time, acts like he's five. He occasionally shows some sort of self awareness but it's over ruled by Sorn, who is a walking red flag incarnate.

Seriously, in reality, he would have been slapped with a restraining order by episode 3.

Perhaps Boat is just too pretty to ignore, and his chemistry with Oat is heavy for most of us, which is probably why we kept watching.

Boat and Oat, undeniably kept this show above water. The mess that is between Sorn and Jun's relationship could have been thoroughly investigated over the 12 episodes by an emotionally intelligent writer, but that's not what we're getting here.

The two, yes TWO, side couples are so underdeveloped, I wonder why they bothered. Was it just a checklist to add more gay? Because My Stubborn was not afraid to get graphic with Sorn and Jun so it really wasn't necessary.

I would ff them because I just wanted to get back to the glorious dumpster fire that was Sorn and Jun. There was so much of an emotional mess between them, that they didn't have time for anyone else, and in comparison to BoatOat's NC scenes, when the side couple's NC scenes happened, it was painfully obvious that it was two actors, and not a couple in love.

This was borderline porn logic at times and other times, there were brief, just could almost taste the reasoning, it was right there at the tips of my fingertips, until Sorn did something to remind me that this is old school yaoi and the Seme never stops being an abusive jerk. Super controlling and possessive that seems to be a thing for some people for some reason.

Sorn only learns to ask before physical intimacy and even then, he struggles because he just eternally lusts for Jun like a starved animal. It gives that feeling of changing the bad boy, without actually changing the bad boy because we don't the bad boy to lose his edge. That's what made him dangerous and sexy.

I dared to say that this could have been translated easily into a BDSM relationship, if the writer knew how. All throughout, I couldn't help but feel that Sorn and Jun's relationship had a Pet or Daddy, or even the controversial 'Little' relationship vibe to it. If the emotional maturity was there, heck, even if they grew into it, it would have worked for these two, because that's how Sorn treats Jun. And that will understandably, run an ice cold finger up some people's spines.

The show is what it is. It's a creative disaster that was completely upheld by BoatOat's chemistry. If it wasn't for them, I think this show would have bombed harder.

One thing they did get right though was the music. I quite enjoyed the backing tracks, and it added to the seediness of a fwb relationship.

Overall, this is a trainwreck, a trashy kind of show that will have it's own audience, and we will all now be hoping that Boat and Oat act together again in a more mature show.

I liked it.

I really liked the series, I even watched it 2 more times!
After that, I watched a few more, but they weren't as memorable as this one!
In the first episode, I was initially shocked by the masturbation scene, then by the sex scenes... this was the second or third BL series I've watched, but this one is memorable.
I liked the story and the actors' performance, I liked Sorn a lot, handsome and masculine!
This is a love story that starts with sex and ends with love! Relationships like this happen in real life!
The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't tell what happened before, when they met and how they fought! It was nice to see the gift of the shoes and the situation related to them!
I will watch it again, I recommend it!

I don’t usually write a review but I feel the need to defend My stubborn for being criticized for having many nc scenes and being misjudged. Yes, there are a lot of nc scenes and they are exclusively spicy, and the story is lacking but I find this bl captivating for many reasons. The main couple’s chemistry is really outstanding, the acting is good. The plot is cringe yet I don’t feel myself cringing at the acting. They deliver both the sad and the romantic scenes very well. The nc scenes make up for the lack of plot, when you are about the get bored they spice things up to keep up your interest. The rated scenes are bl heaven, and you can complain about it all you want, but the bl world long needed a series which give a little more detail of bl sex and desire without shying away from it. The sex scenes don’t feel awkward at all and they aren’t forced chest kisses ongoing for 5 minutes, they get to the point and every scene brings something new to the table. I think it’s kind of more realistic than the all fluff and cute bls. Guys are horny and freaky, not romantic. I don’t rate this bl as a ten or as one of my favorites, but yes I have binge watched it and the last episodes gave me butterflies. The way they look at each other or simply enjoy spending time together finally passes the level of just a spicy bl, you could feel the love and commitment. I get that kind of “we have been through so much together, i will definitely stuck with you. this isn’t just lust or love, this is commitment. it has to be you” vibe for me. I would definitely recommend to watch it, it starts confusing and a little weird but later you’ll get into it, promise. The soundtracks are really good too, the main one isn’t something i would search up on spotify yet its been stuck in my mind. They used a fitting, nice music for every scenes, the last time I felt this satisfied with the music choices was with Revenged love. I’m looking forward to see more from BoatOat, whether spicy or not. Can’t wait for KNOT.

P'Sorn!!! More like P'Porn

This is exactly what a lot of gay porn viewers have been asking for over the years—porn with at least some plot. This series delivers just that: 98% porn, 2% plot—and it totally works because the ML and MC have insane chemistry that makes it so damn enjoyable.

This is what I’ve been saying all along—if you're going to make a series with barely any storyline, then make it like this. Unlike other porn-centric series where the actors seem forced and the intimacy feels flat, here they actually look like they're having mind-blowing sex. It’s a perfect timepass series.

Also, the Asian Johnny Sins with the fake beard had me laughing out loud!

Thought it's a Vlog

I didn't last through first episode. I didn't find any substance to this series. 1st episode is like Vlog. Oat need to work kn his facial expressions. The director didn't plan this out, it's a train wreck. By first episode, there should be a hint for the plot. Feel bad for the production but this is a fail.

The scenes are not even done smoothly. No rhyme or reason for the way scenes are done. it's like it was done to just fill an episode with nonsense.

This episode look more like an amped VLog. Should I even try other episodes and edit this review?

Quitting "My Stubborn" the second time. 🥱😅

Seriously... I tried. I am close to the end of Episode 3, just right around the same point where I quit the series months ago. Sigh. I mean... I began fast forwarding seggs scenes! I felt so NOTHING about it. Like romance was sucked out of me from some emotional vacuum cleaner!

Yes it looks all hot and steamy, but Lordylord... I feel nothing about Sorn and Jun. Like not an inkling of romance. Both are brash, hyper-acting, irrational characters, whose actions make zero sense to me. Is any of them feeling any affection for the other, for I can't tell. And everyone seems to take seggs and relationships so nilly-willy. Like Jun has this lukewarm boyfriend, whom he treats like a random stranger he just met in a hook up bar.

And then this "oh I teach you" plot. .... Seriously? Does Jun have the IQ of 30? Rrriiiiight. I am having seggs with a guy to train.... There is no character develop... can that, there is no CHARACTER I feel behind any of these actors. Sorry, if you liked it, but I feel like nothing. Nobody seems even remotely having any normal human emotion, at least as far as I can tell. I don't feel any personal interest of Jun or Sorn towards each other whatsoever. Or maybe they are the Asian face-masters of hiding, but then... what the heck is this BL even about?

I know the series is leading lists, and yes "oh it gets interesting at Episode 7"... but each episode is LONG and by now... I feel nothing about them.

"Jun, a mischievous high school boy and expert in pushing people’s buttons, and Sorn, a composed, orderly man who absolutely cannot stand kids like him, have been at odds since the day they met. From sneaking salt into toothpaste to hiding personal belongings, Jun’s endless pranks have made Sorn loathe him to the core"
Sorn is composed WHEN? What pranks did Jun make? Isn't it more the other way around Sorn is pushing Jun's buttons for no reason at least I can see.

"But fate has a sense of humor." (DO I look like I am smiling??) "When Jun unexpectedly runs into Sorn in an unusual situation, (Liike Sorn letting Jun almost DIE!) what starts as awkwardness soon becomes the beginning of a complicated connection. The man who once firmly declared, “I don’t like kids,” finds himself slowly stirred by unfamiliar emotions. From conflict to closeness, the line between annoyance and affection begins to blur."

Or like this. Jun receives a parcel from a delivery guy for someone else. Sorn: WHO WAS THIS? WHAT DID HE WANT?
I'd really want to channel my inner working class Englishman and say "Oi mate, that's none of yer bloody business, innit?"

Boy does Sorn hide these feelings well. They just push each other around like being really annoyed ALL THE TIME, and suddenly have seggs. I just raise my arms to the heavens, and like Maggie Thatcher long ago cry "NO. NO. NO."

Boring! Boring! Boring!

Oh my God, once again we are here watching this BL series and again the story repeating itself. It’s absolutely boring boring boring repetitive and just not worth the time.
The actors look exactly the same as other BL stories…. It’s just like a pattern of BL movies from Thailand. I don’t know if the producers and the directors or whoever is writing the series., they have no creativity. You know it’s just like movie after movie and BL series after BL series exactly the same thing it just becoming annoying.
Actually it’s really really boring.
It’s the innocent character who is looking to find a boyfriend or to go out with someone to have sex and when it comes the time to have sex is like very shy or a child they show like you know he’s saying he’s not ready. It’s just boring. I mean it’s just like I think I’m over it actually. !

Porn without plot

Well this is unsettling.. I'm a bit concerned for people who enjoyed this. Constant sex scenes without any consent whatsoever, yikes. Might as well just watch straight up porn at this point.

What was there to even pay attention to? I already dont remember anything from the storyline.

This was a no for me.

My Stubborn tries to be bold, but ends up being messy

The plot feels weak and disorganized, with too many nc scenes that don't really add to the story. Character development is lacking, and the scene transitions feel poorly edited. The only real highlight is Jun, who stands out with expressive acting and a solid emotional delivery. His performance adds depth where the script fails. Meanwhile, Sorn’s character still feels underwhelming and could benefit from stronger development in the future.

Overall, it’s a series with potential, but it seriously needs tighter writing, better pacing, and more thoughtful direction

Cute. Aesthetic.

OK FIRST OF ALL....I'm not done w/ this but,
- It has the same aesthetic as 'A boss and A babe'
- Its very cute. Everything except the NC scenes were cute (NC scene spicy hehe) (Kind off)
- It goes pretty fast
- I really don't understand the reaction Jun when he saw Sorn again after a long time. Shouldn't he be shocked? He was sooooo non-chalant.
- I don't like Boat's hairstyle in this. the tied up hair looks ass. He should've kept it open.
- I don't understand why people call it spicy. It's not that much.
- For me this is just simple fluff w/ some NC scenes.
- Let's be honest, Penny looks soooo gorgeous!
|| Overall. Amazing story. Great actors. Great plot. Many cute scenes. And I'll likely write a review after completing it.||
