HEAR ME OUTTTTTTTTT

I KNOW YALL READ THE HEADLINE. This show is actually a banger, and I enjoyed it so much. I would give it an 8.9 out of 10, so a 9 out of 10. So yes I did like it, I was craving this fucking show lmao. Now I am going to say what I liked and what I didn't like, and then give an overview of my reviews from the episodes. (Also I cant spell).

Let's break it down. Right off the bat, I was really drawn into this show, despite the start being weird as hell, it opened up for a great show (BE AWARE I AM A MY STUBBORN MEAT RIDER). Their chemistry was really good. I believe this is the first show that the two of them are in together as main leads, and they have this great chemistry, and they played their roles very well. I think the start set up for a power dynamic, which I don't really like because these get weird fast, and it did get weird, but it came around in the end for a really good power dynamic. The actors' acting was also really good, and I thought this was genuinely hilarious. Like, I couldn't stop laughing, and I don't know why. It had this weird charm that I can't really explain, but I was really addicted from the start and was genuinely looking forward to Sunday. This show gets a lot of hate because of the NC scenes and I admit there are a lot, but i had fun with them, becasue they weren't like unbearable to watch. i was either getting second hand embrassment or i was fucking laughing my head off. ALSO THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS SORN IN THE TIGHT SHIRTS AND WIFE BEATERS, THAT WAS SUCH A WIN OH MY GOD. WETTTTT. Wait theres more stuff I liked. i love how when sorn didnt respond to jun's love, he started to rethink everything and had sorn running circles for him. I loved that and felt like it was very needed for them to grow their relationship, because like does sorn like jun more than his body or what? Banger plot and made me want more and it backed up the story more. And i really liked the ending, it felt like just enough for this crazy ass show.

What I didn't like, i think that the plot was lacking in some episodes and they were dragging us along for a lot longer than they needed to. Which is fine, until it isn't, because he feels i dont know kind of this repetitive, which was comforting and I liked, until i didnt. I like that the actor played Sorn's character very well becuase fuck he was getting on my nerves so much and i was so angry every time he came on screen torwards the middle of the show, his character got on my nerves quick and it stopped becoming this nonchalantly hot guy and instead just became a dread in the show. What else. Uh the two other couples. I was fine with Tai and Champ, but i felt myself skipping through their scenes a couple of times (which I really dont ever do), because they felt i dont know kind of boring and out of place. I came around to like them towards the end, and i have an edit planned for them, but Tai was also getting on my nerves. A lot of in-sufferable characters in this fuck ass show. The third couple as well, if you are going to have another couple and you barely have time for them, why have another one? Like i kind of liked their story but it became boring and uninteresting really fast, and i lowkey forgot about them every time they would go off-screen for a long time. I did like their characters and the setup, it just didn't turn out very well. And last thing was the ending with the dad and the sister. I wish they did more with the dad. Like I am glad he was accepting of them, but it felt very rushed and lazy and they could have done more with it, but its whatever.

Just gonna go through my episode reviews and talk about the highlights of each episode and then we will end this bull shit lmao. Banger show fr fr. "My what the fucking is happening." Lmao yeah I was just talking about how sorn is hotter without the ponytail. I was really addicted to it because it was this weird nostgalic vibe and funny as fuck lmao. "This show is not very good, but it is at the same time." If this show came out all in one day, i would have finished it lmao. I get the concept i get what they were trying to go for, and they ate i am being so for real. I am glazing the fuck out of this show and i am going to keep going lmao. I was continuing to laugh at this funny ass show and eat up their dynamic. Sorn was a damn disturbance in the universe because every time jun was slightly bent over i felt his presence. I was hoping they had more time for them and still keeping up the weird dynamic. I really liked the soundtrack as well lmao. The parasites in me wanted this show. Sorn was trying to work out his emotions but he sucks at doing so becasue he can only show anger and agression. I was watching this crazy shit out in public lmao. "The sex scenes are getting better but i hope they got paid extra for these because that's actually insane what the helly." Jun was so into sorns daddy personality, like he cant even hide it. They continued to out do themseleves every damn episode with these sex scenes. Sorn was stunting the whole plot from moving. About episode 9, it started to pull our characters out of pornhub dreamland and into reality and i think they did that well. Fangirling over boat in tight shirts. Sorn when his actions have consequences. "I need more lore and sorn in fitted shirts." And towards the end their dynamic was solidified. The same dynamic that was the start but this time jun feels safe with sorn and not in danger constantly. Sorn was still rough as hell, but every time jun felt in dnager he would get behind him because he knew he would protect him and i thought that was really cute and i am truly gutted that this shit is over.

I would recommend it 100 percent. I will be rewatching. God forbid a woman wants to watch to guys with good chemistry tongue, dude. Okay bye!

Loved this one!

Fun, silly and entertaining! I'm really glad I gave this one a try. It didnt take itself too seriously and I was happy to see Yoon again with, for me, was a group of new actors. Sepak Takraw (hope I got it right) was totally new to me as well. I had never heard of or seen it before and was thrilled to learn about something new. Half way through, I hunted up the novel in English and read it through, because I couldn't wait a week for the next episode. On the hunt for my next show. I always need a short diversion from real life responsibilities and The Ex-Morning won't last forever.

What did I just watch?

I don't usually write reviews, but this series is so bad, I had to write one anyway.

I'll make it short and straight to the point: this is soft p*rn with inconsequential and nonsensical story fillers between scenes. And the p*rn isn't even good. 2 of the 3 couples are stiff, unrealistic kisses, unrealistic positions. My Stubborn shows a lot of non-consent with one couple (BL) and power abuse with the other (GL). Let's not talk about the third... I mean, I was scared the fillers in their lips would explode if they'd applied any pressure while kissing. It was painful to watch.

There are three tired, old and dry-sucked story concepts watered down to literally nothing. They don't really connect to each other either. As for the acting: most did a good job with the crappy material they were given to work with. Some tried hard and it shows.

I hope, you didn't pay to watch this. There is literally better p*rn out there.

A guide to successfully gaslighting your partner

Its 2025 and still we're being served a BL that got some much toxic waste that I honestly was expecting Greenpeace to show up for a protest at some point. This BL is a throwback to the don'ts of 2018/2015 BL's, which included such great highlights like: an obligatory GL couple that got less screen time than some of the comic relief characters, consent not even being an option, a narcistic & toxic red flag Main Top which is being sold as bad boy with an redemption arc (spoiler there is no redemption, dude is just toxic), a Main Bottom with less common sense than a toothpick and no discernible character and cringe as far as the eye can see. The only thing that isn't a throwback to those dark times are the NC scenes which are definitely 2025 (and probably directed by someone from the porn industry).

The acting is stiffer than the Main couples in-between-the-legs-appendices are most of the time and not all of the cast are first timers, some have enough experience that they should know how to act. So there's very little excuse for how bad the acting is, except that the script is just so bad that I really can't see any actor being able to delivery a good performance with it. Which especially shows compared to the NC scenes where the acting is actually good, even though the dialogs are still a real cringe fest.

The sets are boring and add nothing much to look at, which is ok if this production had a small budget. Which I hope was the case. The music is nothing special and really didn't leave an impression. The editing didn't really suck, so thats a plus I guess. The cinematography was pretty decent in the NC scenes and just meh the rest of the time with some annoying and unnecessary flares and lighting effects.
Now back to script: Oh dear, I should've checked out what the writer's other works are, then I probably wouldn't have been so surprised by the waste that I got served. The dialogs are just simply bad cringe, not the good kind of cringe one can actually enjoy as a guilty pleasure. No no. Grown up characters spewing constantly some pouty nonsense, lines straight out of porn or the worst of the 2000er b-movie romances imaginable. Add to that one dimensional characters, whose sole traits are either having no brains, no common sense, every red flag imaginable or just good looks.
Is there at least a story? Sure and I think its about how the toxic main top constantly gaslights his no brains younger bottom into mainly non consensual topping and other such activities, bullies said bottom to follow his every whim, while said bottom harbours delusions of changing the top and at the end sorta just gives up (good sex apparently excuses all). Add to that a plethora of people actively enabling the top's toxic ways or excusing them in some bullshit way. And then there is those two side couples which got a more or less a healthy relationship, not quite sure about the GL but since those two are just there for the heck of it eh. The second couple could've been a ray of light in this waste land of a story but no. It started pretty good and then for some reason, they just had to add nonsensical drama to that couples story, ruining that too.
So basically if one enjoys watching a series which celebrates every toxic trait and red flag in a partner with some very imaginative NC scenarios straight out of the porn industry, this is it for you. It really wasn't my cup of tea and the trailer gaslight me into believing this would be good, which I guess fits the story.

Typical OTT Thai BL with oodles of smut and full of delish RAD FLAGS :D

All the degenerate red flag lovers unite....lol...it doesn't get any more deliciously toxic, problematic, and filled with red-flags than this show ..or at least for a long time now....it has all the bad, toxic, and forbidden tropes that we are always told to scorn/hate...sure shot formulae for it to be liked, right?... I'm sure digging it, for all the wrong reasons...and not ashamed at all!! Oat as Jun, is just killing it...hands down...love love love him...but all the other couples in this show, are just so extra !!

BL-needle Score: 8.5 Very High BL-ness

With that 'jerky' opening, they sure had my attention :D......I thought, okay....the smut is good, and so are the leads...Sorn evidently seemed like he had his eyes, heart, hands and 'everything else' up and set to make Jun realise what and who he really likes....NGL, though I kinda liked it, I was a tad unsure if I would watch it regularly....the first episode did grab my attention, and set the expectations (smut, OTT, predatory love, I'm guessing) and gave us the hook to want to be back...and then I ignored it for sometime to finally catch up at one go now....ah...its such a toxic delight..:D

The tension between the leads, Sorn and Jun, was sizzling from the word go, and now it has become a full blown toxic relationship with sex that can't be resisted .....the chemistry between them is plain alluring....the result is a lot of very gratifying smut...and then all the hookey and bad-boi tropes - I love you, but will never admit it, I want you to respect me but can never say no to your d*ck and kisses, I must be pushed to my very limit before I say STOP...and now we have finally come to that juncture.....

I will be dying to see how Jun says no to Sorn and send the tensions skyrocketing....and we are all soooooooooooooooo waiting to see Jun find his voice now, aren't we?? LOL....so, yes, it has now got me hooked big time...and if you are a toxic-trope-lover degenerate like me, you will love it too.

Giving up.

Wow, what a terrible show, in every possible way. Sorn is obsessive and abusive, and by episode 10 shows no sign of changing. He just chases Jun around, ignoring the fact that Jun has literally gone into hiding to avoid him. Jun changed his internship, moved out, blocked him, and still Sorn finds him. If this was a normal show, Jun would have gotten a restraining order against Sorn. I kept watching because I thought maybe Sorn would learn something, change for the better. But no. He just does the same things over and over. He's never even said WHY he likes Jun. There's zero connection other than the forced sex scenes, which mostly Jun seems to not even want.
It's not hot to be stalked. It's not okay when someone grabs you when you don't want it. Not even in a made up show.
Plus the acting is just not it. When Sorn is supposed to look upset he just moves his eyes around. Once you notice it you won't be able to unsee it. And they had to have a fem boy as comic relief. I thought BLs were past using this old trope. What a train wreck.

A guilty one maybe, but still an absolute Pleasure!

Should I put a disclaimer about how depictions of toxic relationships (not saying there is one here) or really spicy scenes should not be viewed as "cheap" per se? Well, there you go.

If you've seen TharnType and you liked it, chances are you will like this BL as well. Lots of bickering and reluctance, a lot of spice, fantastic chemistry and not too much depth story-wise. And those are all not bad things to me. I would even say that I almost certainly will re-watch this BL as many times as I have re-watched TharnType.

Juin and Sorn have known eachother since very young and what Sorn did with Jun in the past was absolutely wrong. He admits that in the last episode, but i do feel his could have been addressed better and clearer. I almost missed it.

They obviously ran out of time or interest to wrap up the other couples besides SornJun and TaiChamp and that is also a shame. I didn't really care for the F/F couple, but even less for loose ends like this.
I could sum up even more problems with the storytelling, but fact is that I don't really care. This series is not about that. What it is about; two young men coming to terms with their insane attraction to eachother that they really don't want but can't run away from. They like eachother's kinks and are so into eachother that the embers come flying through the screen. Jun is totally into Sorn's dom behavior, even though he may feel a bit embarrassed about it. Sorn has been attracted to Jun for years and tried to run away, but he can't. He's just afraid of what their friends and family will think and to scare off Jun.

It almost reads like a cheap romance novel, doesn't it? And that's probably why it's so good. Not pretentious, just insane chemistry.

His Manchild Sorn (uncut version with watch suggestions)

Overall: though we heard characters say Jun pranks/ed Sorn, we never saw that. Instead we saw Sorn being a manchild and one sided bullying/intimate partner emotional abuse. Nothing was ever Sorn's fault, it was always someone elses, there was zero responsibility-taking. With some tweaks, I would have rated this much higher. The series is adapted from the book "Nai Hia Bok Mai Chop Dek" by Nang Sao Phop which I have read but I reviewed the series on its own merits (notes about how they mucked up the adaptation at the end of this review). 12 episodes about 50 minutes each. Airing uncut on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/my-stubborn-episode-1-1vk3bdn96z8?lang=en_us and cut on MFlow's YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b12PV1m9pP8&ab_channel=MFlowEntertainment MFlow also produced: Time, Beyond the Star, Tin Tem Jai, AiLongNhai, Second Chance and Coffee Melody.

Content Warnings: non/dub con kissing/touching, voyeurism, drugging, punches, bullying, intimate partner emotional abuse, hits, manhandling

Watch Suggestions (to remove most of Sorn being an asshole and uninteresting side characters/plot)
- episode 1 watch beginning-27:50
- watch all of episode 2
- episode 3 watch beginning-13:45, 27-35:35, 37:50-54
- episode 4 watch beginning-5:30
- episode 5 watch 11-20:45, 23:30-24:5, 35:10 to the end
- episode 6 watch 5:25-6:30, 7:15-8:30, 20-23 gl, 27:30-35:25, 37:45-end
- episode 7 watch 5:40-9:50, 20:20-21:30 and continue for the GL, 30-33, 37-44
- episode 8 watch 17-18 and 29-41:45
- skip episode 9
- episode 10 watch 9:30-13:10, 34:50-35:20 and 39:20-end
- episode 11 watch 13:15-19:30 and 21:45-31:15
- episode 12 watch 17:50-end

What I Liked
- attention getting intro*
- tension
- NSFW scenes were pretty well done with facial expressions/sounds**
- the camera shot of the escalators with a character going up and the other going down
- Jun's dad and sister
- Sorn's mom and brother
- good conversation about sexual position preferences

Room For Improvement
- *the intro scene felt kind of random, and then there was a separate situation that seemed not connected from that time but the characters discussed the past as if it was just 1 incident and not 2
- character cards to introduce characters instead of naturally showing the audience their traits
- felt choppy at times (daylight went to full nighttime in a few minutes in ep 7)
- nonsense stuff like not contacting someone because they lost their phone as if social media doesn't exist, **an unusual amount of neck kissing then a character saying he couldn't breathe when he wasn't being kissed on the mouth at all, school aged children working at a coffee shop during the school day, Jun being extremely drunk and then suddenly sober, Win didn't hear something when he very close, pink lighting in the same bathroom that never had it previously, a beard that looked like it was drawn on by a toddler
- comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- Sorn let Jun be punched multiple times before intervening because he wanted to teach him a lesson about not kissing people when Sorn was kissing someone?!? Sorn tells other people to treat Jun like an adult when he himself treats Jun like a child, Sorn kicked Jun's leg and hit his mouth for looking at his brother
- what Sorn did in episode 4 was terrible and a few apologies/buying food didn't fix it for me
- the side m/m couple's progression made no sense and they virtually disappeared for a few episodes, they don't talk to each other when they should have and then it got very controlling "you are my wife" stuff
- the side f/f couple's progression/relationship in the first half didn't make much sense and they also disappeared
- the side m/f couple's relationship was boring to watch
- in episode 5 Jun told Sorn to stop multiple times and Sorn didn't, in episode 7 Jun was hitting Sorn as if saying to stop and Sorn continued
- some odd/close up shots
- love rivals including in the finale, could have spent that time elsewhere

Note for ages: Jun was 19 (i.e. in university) in the first scene and Sorn was 24. In the present, Jun is 21 and Sorn is 26. The actors are 30 and 28. I have no issue with the age gap.

Thoughts on Grey Characters/Their Romantic Relationships
Sometimes these characters and their dynamic work for me and other times they don't. Here are the factors that I think about:
1. was there a realistic reason why the character/s acted the way they did in the past (there was no reason given why Sorn was an asshole/abusive towards Jun)
2. how bad was/is the treatment (emotionally abusive with ignoring Jun's boundaries multiple times, controlling Jun's actions or saying things were Jun's fault that weren't his fault, made Jun look really bad at work, Sorn allowed Jun to get punched multiple times to teach Jun a lesson that Sorn himself ignored)
3. were both characters grey or was one squeaky clean (Jun was pretty squeaky clean, he had a go with the flow energy)
4. was there some kind of apology/amend making (verbal apologies and bought Jun food in ep 5 for 1 instance, the later apology was awful and said Jun should know that Sorn was bad at apologies, wtf?!)
5. was there character growth (no, Sorn continued to ignore Jun's boundaries, was controlling/too possessive)
6. do I believe that the characters will stay together in a happy romantic relationship (no, because the emotional abuse will make Jun miserable)
final verdict: I don't want them together, Jun will be miserable, he still looked miserable/reluctant a lot of the time

Some Differences Between the Book & The Series
- in the book in the past they did show how both Sorn and Jun pranked each other, it felt much less 1 sided bullying in the book
- the book did not have GL and Sorn clearly explained his past relationship with Penny
- the book did not have Sorn smiling as Jun got into trouble in episode 4, Sorn was horrified that it had gone that far and made amends better in the book
- the book has a reason why Sorn does not like people younger than himself, they did eventually give the reason but it wasn't as clear as in the book
- Sorn also had a good reason for losing contact, TBD if they talk about this in the series
- Jun is really into Sorn in the book and is not frequently reluctant like he is in the series
- the 2nd half of the book was Sorn groveling/making up for his past mistakes, the series dragged out Sorn being a jerk with barely any apology-making

I can’t do it

I tried. I tried so hard to watch it because everyone seems to be so excited about it but omg I cant I feel nothing I’m wasting my time.

I want to preface this with I am NOT picky with bls like at all, I watched half a series on 2x speed once bcuz it was so boring and I still gave it like an 8/10 but I cannot with this series. I could write a thorough paragraph of why I don’t like this series but instead I’m gonna give point form bcuz I’m tired and then I’ll add a few points of what I did like (it’s a short list)

- im halfway through episode 4 and I haven’t felt a single thing
- stiff feeling awkward acting
- LITERALLY WHAT EVEN IS THE “STORY”?? NOTHING IS HAPPENING
- why does Sorn grab and kiss Jun every 3 seconds it’s WEIRD AND AWKWARD and feels like an awkward forcing of fanservice
- every time Sorn grabs and kisses Jun it’s oddly forceful and in just a not sexy uncomfortable manner
- watched it on 1.5 speed and I’m STILL bored
- synopsis is completely innacurrate Jun is just living his life and Sorn is a massive annoyance and man child
- they literally just don’t seem like they like each other to me
- I honestly don’t feel an ounce of chemistry but maybe that’s me
- love me a toxic man sometimes but Sorn is just plain annoying
- it’s not even bad in an entertaining funny way it’s just bad
- a decent amount of the dialogue is just useless dribble that means nothing adds nothing and feels out of place
- I genuinely feel nothing towards them idc if they get together idc if they break up idc if they both die at the end frankly

things I liked about the show ☺️
- the side couple is kinda ok idk haven’t seen many of their scenes
- some of the side characters are fun
- the first episode was the only time I felt intrigued about the show being atleast entertaining even if it was bad and that ended very swiftly
- some of the NC scenes were alright
- I genuinely can’t think of anything else I liked right now and I just finished half of episode 4

if you literally just want something playing then this is a great show for you, if you want to feel even one single ounce of care or emotion other than maybe horny sometimes watch anything else, 4/10 honestly might be generous after reading my list but again I am not used to giving anything less than a 7. if you watch this and think it’s good I think you might have mush for brain.

Boat and Oat

I really thought this would end the curse of MFlow Entertainment for me. I really like both Boat and Oat and it's great to see Yoon again. But there are two "actors" here that give this series a deficit for me which is Llouis (from the awful Beyond the Star) and Toey (from the trash that was 2 Moons The Ambassador)

So my focus must stay with Boat and Oat and Yoon.

Luckily the 2 actors here that I have zero respect for are paired together so I can make great use of the FF button.

Unpleasantness aside I'm very interested in the Sorn and Jun relationship as it appears Sorn has a thing for Jun and see their encounters as helping Jun and nothing more. While carrying on a heterosexual relationship. Sorn is definitely not heterosexual unless we're going for I'm not into men I'm just into you.

Mflow for me seemingly has a trouble carrying a series all the way through, it seems there is no script and they are just winging it. I'm hoping they can carry this one for Boat and Oat sake. And of course Yoon. I'm cautiously optimistic as long as I can avoid Llouis and Toey.

Hot hot hot

I’ve already rewatched the first episode 4 times. It captivated me within the first 5 mins. 💦🍆 by the way I’m not complaining at all 😅
I can see this quickly becoming very popular and addictive. I love the chemistry between Sorn and Jun. It gives innocent school boy / naughty older brother vibes to begin with but quickly turns to not so innocent junior / still naughty older brother 😅 can’t wait till the next episode.

Stupid but fun

If you like the old school BLs like tharntype, don't say no etc then you will like this. It is toxic and full of misunderstandings and a dumb non existent plot. The side characters are also really bad and the actors are not pulling it off. The show is almost all sex scenes and a paper thin plot. That office also has no HR or rules at all, they be doing all sorts of stuff and getting away with it.

The lead actors are doing well especially with their romance scenes.

The drama has so many unnecessary parts and could have been 8 eps. The side couples are both boring and badly acted.

Sorn is a mega red flag, not understanding or respecting boundaries and not paying attention to Jun and his feelings and never changes or matures throughout the series. There are some interesting moments but I'm mostly just watching for the nostalgia as it is similar to some of the first BLs i watched.

If this was a real life relationship it would be harassment and SA. Sorn only cares about what he wants which is mostly sex, and doesn't want to give anything back or respect Jun. There is no character progression here.
