News the story, the way actors portray their roles.
This Drama is so good that is very simple but it has a big impact to our daily lives,it shows how you handle problems, overcome all the struggle. This drama is a romance but no torrid kissings or bed scenes that also protects children's innocents ,no slappings or any violent action that I almost watch in Chinese drama which most of the time I watch vicious and evil woman.Over all review finally I watch a worth watching beautiful Cdrama series that heals, encourage and thought as how to fight fair and square to life, regardless what and where life brings us.Was this review helpful to you?
An uninspiring shallow sport series that feels like the target audience was women.
This is a great reason why MDL demographic is a problem when rating series. At the time of writing this review MDL boast an 8.3 so I decided to give this series a shot because I am a big fan of watching sport "media" in terms of anime, series, movies and what got me into this genre is The Mighty Ducks like I don't know a lick about Hockey but one thing remains common for all these great media that has surfaced over the decades which is pulling on the heartstrings of what men care about.
This series however I'm going to sound sexists saying this but it feels like the target audience is women.
The core concept of this series that brings all the characters together is football yet the entire series lacks depth into football. They don't bother diving into techniques which is how sport media shows growth in characters through techniques and learning about the game. You know what they show, them in a classroom and the coach putting the most generic "this is the strategy" like what?
The directing of the game is even worse and shows football as a third class citizen in this series. They practically start the game then Michael Bay was hired to shoot the scene so the camera goes every where then in the ending they decided to be inspired by Naruto with 100 flashbacks in the FINAL GAME and yet the entire game is just done because they literally TIME SKIPPED like what the hell did I just watch and I didn't think it could get worse.
At this point I was already on 3X speed trying to get through this garbage to see if there's a single redeeming quality.
Let me just say avoid this garbage if you are after something like Ao Ashi which is a great anime about football and season 2 I believe is releasing very soon an absolute watch for sport fans, sport growth, brotherhood, and really just something where the target audience is men and I teared up watching Ao Ashi but I am no fan of Blue Lock that is just incredibly obscene.
See I was expecting a series made from China like Hikaru No Go obviously that's an anime but the Chinese did a drama on it and it was so well executed unlike this garbage so watch that instead.
I'll break down the entire series with what it focuses on
1. I'm the teacher, I have past drama so I'm actually of greatness but I come to humble home town and I'm going to develop into a person that inspires a team with my dullness
2. I'm the coach, I'm entangled with your teacher and have past drama too, I need direction to grow and resolve my issues but once I resolve them I'm going into the romance arc and all the female viewers will fawn over lack luster romance
3. We're the players, we don't really know how to kick a ball so the camera pans around like Michael Bay came to China and we're going to CGI some things because it cost more for our time trying to kick the ball than it does actually acting. On top of that we're devoid from learning about football even though we're amateurs so you won't see technical growth but instead you're going to see a whole lot of dumb drama around our personal life like our teacher and coach.
Then the absolute dumb things this series engages in
1. I'm the teachers BEST friend coming into late in the series, I have no real purpose to be here but waste screen time and probably the director knew my dad or something so I got to be in this series. I add nothing to this series and my existence is completely pointless
2. I'm the antagonist of both the leads and somehow it all relates to me but I exist much much later in the series. I'm supposedly methodical and intelligent but I'll be a Power Rangers villain and just tell everyone I'm guilty to quickly resolve our issue and by the way although I was the male leads antagonist we're going to quickly forget about that so we can focus on the female lead getting horny over male lead
3. I'm one of the kids parents, I do no no things and teacher and coach gets involved. I show you parents can be very nasty to their kids aspiring dreams; is it not so relatable to you viewers. In the end I'll have a scene where I say something positive meaning all our familial troubles are resolved. Don't forget me parent #2 who does no no things and I don't show up anymore because I'm not supportive at all and by the way the entire series won't focus on my unsupportive ass and how a core player feels at the height of their moment in their final game of the season.
4. Not spoiling this one but we're a group hush hush that is very important to story development for the teacher because we exists to give the story a sense of mystery oooo people like mystery right...
Absolute garbage.
Thing is if you're a girl this might be up your alley if you want a chill series that isn't drama heavy. It's stupid though like you'll be like what the hell resolution is that at some points at the end and become baffled why they are injecting pointless characters into the series and not focusing on core personal drama.
As a guy if you want sports, you ain't getting it here and just avoid it.
I'd have LESS problems with this series if it was diving into players having ACTUAL problems surrounding the sports so they don't focus on growth on field but the problems around it which some movies I've watched do because it's like 90% things men go through which is why the target audience here is clearly not men.

Really nice,calm, heartwarming
Story is slow nicefirst i dislike sports I'm watching because it's ester and it was my first time watching a football match have to say I enjoyed watching the match the kids were adorable
the boys(support characters), their matches and friendship was really good, their interactions really cute and heartwarming
I was so curious about those 2 boys patchup I was just waiting for it from when they showed the boy who was really mean I still liked him and thought he got well along with his friends sooner but it happens alot later still it did it was nice
ml FML - Thier interaction were really nice in the starting it felt so nice calming soothing type, slice of life kinda, romance felt unnecessary or even if less felt okay, because I like the leads I haved watched their other dramas I wished more ROMANCE was there
I think there's enough according to me it was still satisfying but instead of focus on sports only romance should've been there
sports - only in starting the first half? focuses on contious matches and training later it shifts to personal life or other issues of boys and all characters so if you worried it's all sports only it's not it was quite entertaining for me I prefer not to watch sports genre but this was really good

it’s ok to face a setback in life
At first, I thought this modern Chinese drama was just about a teacher helping build a football team and leading them to victory. But it’s so much more than that. This drama reminds us not to give up, while also showing that it’s okay to experience setbacks in life. It’s okay to be a “slacker” sometimes if slowing down helps you live a healthier, happier life instead of constantly burdening yourself.
Throughout the story, we witness the pain, trauma, and personal struggles of each student, and many of their experiences are reflected in Lin Wanxing. As she helps each student confront their problems and heal, she gradually heals herself as well. Watching her journey of growth is one of the most rewarding parts of the drama.
The series beautifully balances suspense, romance, friendship, and comedy, with each element complementing the others without overshadowing the story’s emotional core.
I highly recommend this drama to anyone looking for something fresh, heartfelt, and meaningful. It’s much more than a sports drama—it’s a story about healing, resilience, and finding your way through life’s challenges.
While many dramas go beyond reality and constantly push the idea that “winning” in life means chasing glory, status, fame, or wealth, this drama takes a different approach.
It reminds us that living an ordinary, peaceful life is also a victory. You don’t have to be the best, the richest, or the most successful to have a meaningful life. Sometimes, simply finding happiness, healing from your past, and living authentically is more than enough.
That’s what makes this drama so refreshing. It celebrates growth, resilience, and the quiet victories that often go unnoticed.

My comfort show of 2026
The mystery pushed me watch, but the found family and the bonds between the cast made me stay. I can't express how wonderful it was to see the team rebuild their trust and love for soccer again. To see FXS really fight for the team at the beginning, to all the boys finding their spark again, it will forever be a heart warming experience for me to watch. Even LWX who was trying to coast along after trying to escape her past couldn't help but fall in love with the energy and the gravitation to the team.I generally do not watch sports genres, but this drama dropped quite literally during the best time with the world cup. We were able to see the boys, LXW, and WF rebuild the team from bottom to top, I couldn't help but find myself feeling happiness for every win and sadness for every loss. Truly a found family.
I loved the slow burn. I love how communicative, honest, mature, and understanding LWX and WF are with each other. They never let one wonder too long and was very straight to the point. When one didn't want to talk about something, the other didn't push. They waited for the other to come to them. Very refreshing to see a mature couple in dramas.
Xinxin did great in this drama. It's nice to see her step into more mature roles and show that she's a versatile actress. Her outfits, 100/10. Facecard, 10000/10. I love seeing her improve her craft with every project.
Cheng Jing Ke.. 2 words, husband. material. The way he acts with his eyes! You can see the admiration, the love, the sadness flow from his eyes, I was mesmerized. A pairing I never knew I needed, tbh. They look so expensive next to each other and I love it. I ate up every sec of it (drama, interviews, live streams).
To all the boys, great job. Working in the summer heat, playing a hard game, and acting to their fullest. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them.
A must watch. It had me laughing and crying. Makes me sad that it's done. My forever baobeis!

You Need a Lots of Tissue When Watching!
Road to Success is an inspiring C-drama about ambition, perseverance, relationships, and the journey toward success. It follows the characters as they navigate career challenges, personal setbacks, difficult choices, and the realities of chasing their dreams. What makes it compelling is that success isn’t portrayed as an overnight achievement. The story focuses on growth, resilience, friendship, love, and learning from failure—showing how every setback can become part of the road forward.
Definitely one of those underrated dramas that slowly hooks you until you realize, “Okay… I need to watch the next episode.”
After watching the last episode, this deserved a standing ovation. BTW, this is the first time I am rating a C-drama.

being alive is already amazing
How can this drama be so beautiful ! it has everything from romance , friendship, psychology education and motivation . It also has suspense plot in it . This drama shows us the struggle of teenagers in their youth and the struggle of the adult that their life have been smoothed but suddenly face a set back . People have their own problems to deal with so we can’t judge them base on the outside . This drama allows me to see the perspective of the people who face set back in life and fighting to recover . They won the battle here but I can’t imagine how many women who lost the battle and blame themselves . I hope they could put the blame on the wrong doing and society should treat them better. They are the victim and they are not the one who should ashamed of the way she got abused. Also I will never be the one who blame the victim. I hope everyone could spread this .Was this review helpful to you?
This cdrama would make you hooked
I'm really enjoying this drama. The balance between comedy, angst, character growth, mystery, and all the puzzles is just right, making it so easy to stay invested in every episode.I also love the bond between Lin Wanxing, Wangfa, and their students. The story doesn't just focus on the romance or the mystery surrounding the main leads' past. It also gives plenty of attention to the students' personal struggles and backstories, which makes the story feel much richer.
That's exactly why I've been so hooked. The drama keeps me emotionally invested in every character, not just the main couple. And that just make me love all of them ❤️

The story's premise is flimsy and hard to believe. A psychologist working as an equipment manager at a school is then tasked with taking students to play a soccer match without them having trained together (?!)They luck out and manage a draw, thanks to tips from the woman's tenant. The school wants the new team to keep playing, so they need a coach. She asks the tenant, but he turns the offer down. So, using her skills as a psychologist, she devises a strategy to convince him.
From episode 11 onwards, you start to see a tight-knit group with real potential forming around the two of them—the coach and the team manager—as they begin to grow fond of each other.
Just as the coach is settling in, however, something happens that forces him to leave her and the team (Ep. 16).
He returns to the squad, and after opening up to one another, they grow closer. Then a female friend of hers shows up, and he gets jealous (?!).
The revelation regarding the person responsible for the suicide of the boy he used to coach is a bit disappointing and nonsensical. It turns out to be a mentally unstable man—an older acquaintance of hers whose romantic advances she had rejected—who drove the young footballer to the breaking point (though what did that poor kid have to do with it?).
The coach is deeply in love, and the team—thanks to her clever tactics—is becoming increasingly united.
Then, she disappears out of shame over her old own scandal. She is the embodiment of inconsistency; she runs away when faced with problems. A fine example coming from a psychologist who works with young people.
The psychopath issue gets resolved.
I found little chemistry between the two, and her childish behavior made it hard for me to like her.

If I had to describe this show in one word, it would be HEALING ~
Wow, where do I even begin with this review? There's so much to unpack... I was not sure if I would like this show because it looked a little dark from the posters/trailer... but I was pleasantly surprised. By the time I reached episode 6, I knew I would definitely enjoy and finish this show. The plot was mysterious, and I think that was what kept me going. From figuring out who on earth SPADE Q was, to the mystery of the hand-drawn football cards ~ so many things were left unknown. The only thing that was certain was that the main leads had both faced some form of traumatic experience and were finding their own ways to cope with the grief and pain. For the FL it was to be a slacker 闲鱼 in this high school that her late grandfather encouraged her to go in his letter to her, and for the ML, it was to find out who SPADE Q was.
The first encounter between the male and female lead stood out to me. The OST 《无声引力》played, and as I heard the lyrics "Two souls aligned in silent gravity, Heal my heart with every part of me..." I had goosebumps. Though no spoken words, the presence felt through the screen was heavy, but held with a glimpse of hope.
The initial banter and interactions between the leads were so fun to watch - they were both wary of each other's intentions, yet unknowingly and subconsciously came to trust each other. Even though the ML, Wang Fa, had his own hidden agenda in getting close to Wan Xing, that was what allowed his fondness for her to grow. I thought there would be a huge fallout when the FL realized the truth, but thankfully, she handled it with such maturity. And I really liked that. As for the ML, he was quick to apologise. The best part? He knew what exactly made the FL mad.
I also loved how they both navigated their feelings towards each other. The ML was quick to acknowledge his feelings and told her he wanted to pursue a relationship with her. The FL was visibly attracted to the ML as well, yet she was honest enough to tell him she was not ready - the reason being she still wasn't ready to open up and share what had happened to her. The ML's response to her was so respectful. He told her saying that itself was already an act of vulnerability, and to him, that was enough. He was willing to meet her where she was, and that is something I hardly see in shows these days.
Once the "secret" of his hidden agenda was out of the way, their communication got better and his trust in the FL never once wavered. When things went out of control and the FL's old wounds resurfaced, he gave her the space she needed. Yet at the same time, he continued to reach out to her and encouraged her to get back on her feet.
Meanwhile, there were also the side characters - the whole football team. Each individual had their own character arc and development. From being easily defeated and swayed at the beginning, by the end they had all grown in their own ways, becoming more mature in how they handled situations. Through the ups and downs, they learnt what it meant to strive for their dreams and work towards their goals. In some sense, to do whatever it takes to create a path for themselves. Many people may come and go, but at the end of the day it all boils down to the individual's willpower to continue.
The friendship plot between the two guys, Wen Cheng Ye and Fu Xin Shu, was also slowly revealed as the episodes went by. I always found myself emotionally drawn to Wen Cheng Ye, especially the part where he ran to the competition, knowing that he would probably not make it to the match. During the run, he began to tear up, and by the time he reached the site, he had completely broken down. One word, "I'm sorry," was enough to move me to tears.
He was simply a lonely boy, who craved affection, yet was unable to express himself well. His way of wanting to get Fu Xin Shu to recognize him ended up backfiring and leading to more misunderstandings. I appreciated that their reconciliation was not overly dragged out. And we got to enjoy a couple of episodes of them being besties like they were in their younger days.
The later part of the show revealed the hidden truths behind everything - from how Xiao Lin 老师 was intentionally led to this particular high school, to leading this bunch of students, to having the keys to the former tuition centre owned by her grandparents. Everything started to fall in place - and there was closure not only for Xiao Lin 老师 , but also for her students, who had always carried a sense of abandonment because their ex-coach had 'left' them.
And like in most Chinese C-dramas, there's always a bestie for the ML and FL. I was pleasantly surprised to see Victor Ma appear on screen. As always, his humour shone through. His scenes were always comedic and any seriousness never lasted for long. Wan Xing's bestie appeared much later on in the series. Though Ju Li didn't have that many scenes with Wan Xing, I could still feel just how deeply she cared for her.
One of the most impactful scenes for me was how she was respectful and sensitive towards Wan Xing when she was emotionally unstable. A simple question, "Do you want my company or would you like to have some time alone?" was enough to show how mature she was as a friend. Ju Li was all ready to dig in and enjoy some fried chicken wings with her bestie Wan Xing, but was very quick and willing to take a step back and give Wan Xing the space she needed. She didn't assume what Wan Xing needed - she asked, then gave.
Overall, I really enjoyed this show. Aside from inspiring me to chase my dreams and live with no regrets, I also saw the importance of trust, respect... and to not let the past haunt you. What has happened, has happened... we cannot change the past, but we can take the step for a better future.

Best surprise since Love Between The Lines...
Updated after finished all. Unique well thought out story including mature healthy romance, though kept PG, didn’t leave viewers thirsty. I simultaneously watched Love For You which I could barely finish due to story and FL character/actress and was left “T” for all the hype. Don’t like every performance but admire FL’s work ethic esp. as dubs many/most dramas. I had watched ML before and look forward to his upcoming modern dramas ( with Alyssa and Elvira when finally unlocked on YOUKU ).Was this review helpful to you?
