Not watchable after 2nd episode
People said that if you don't watch the entire story, you can't give review. I disagree. Well, this is NOT a review of the whole story. JUST the first 3 episodes (I didn't lie - all the information is marked according to kisskh specs) that turned me off regardless of the fact that I like both actors/actress.I don't randomly sample dramas. I don't watch dramas with actors that I don't like and then give negative reviews. For example, I am not watching the current Immortal Ascension and Sword Rose. I already know I will not like them so I won't even try.
Please don't challenge my review otherwise you will be blocked because I don't have to time to argue. Let's face it: it's just a drama. It's not your life or anything so important that we have to spend time defend the drama.
Reason why I dropped this story:
The framing around the story is ridiculous:
Ep 3: FL said, "only reason I let you live is to hear your story"
Ok so why did she harm him before giving him a chance to explain? She is supposed to have grown up in an investigative home, understands how investigation works, loved him for a long time, understand him so well, etc ...
And what's so annoying is the doctor giving the "wrong" poison. Very contrived!
She didn't give him the benefit of the doubt...
Then as soon as he tells her the real story, she says I don't believe you.
He even said, there should be at least 1 person, who can believe his story -well he's right! rolling eyes!
I feel like this is a rewrite of THE SMILING, PROUD WANDERER when the ML who loves the master's daughter is framed. In this case, the framing is believable. She's not in love with him and believes her new boyfriend!
When the FL acted so illogically, I don't think I can change my perspective to believe that they have chemistry and love each other. Not convincing. Watching 20 more episodes will not convince me that they chemistry.

Fast-paced Investigation/Mystery series with a rather dark tone
PLOT: The ML, a brilliant investigator, is to marry the FL, daughter of his mentor (head of Secret Agency 1). However, on the wedding day, five high-ranking officials (including the FL's father) are horrifically killed, and the ML is accused of these murders. He disappears for three years. A series of murders continues. When the ML returns, he faces the FL's distrust, but gradually gains her trust again and the trust of her partners (coroner, friends, etc.).+++ the ML (Wang Xing Yue), handsome, charismatic, and moving.
+++ Very good actors, convincing, endearing, bringing to life some rather gray characters (they all have heavy pasts :)
+++ Excellent OSTs, incredibly creepy
+++ Lively and effective direction, with great effects, framing, lighting, sets, etc.
### Quite a convoluted storyline, deliberately gory
### Very little room for romance (suggested, only one kiss)
### Quite a few plot holes and some coincidences are a bit too obvious.
=> Good historical investigation/mystery series.

Série rythmée Investigation / Mystère au ton assez sombre
PLOT: Le ML, enquêteur de génie, doit épouser la FL, fille de son mentor (chef de l'Agence secrète 1). Cpdt, le jour du mariage, 5 gds officiels (dont le père de la FL) sont tués d'1 façon atroce, et le ML est accusé de ces meurtres. Il disparait pdt 3 ans. Des séries de meurtres continuent. Qd le ML revient, il affronte la méfiance de la FL, mais gagne peu à peu sa confiance et celle de partenaires (coroner, amie, etc.).
+++ le ML (Wang Xing Yue), beau, charismatique, émouvant.
+++ Très bons acteurs, convaincants, attachants, donnant vie à des personnages plutôt gris (ils ont tous de lourdes valises :)
+++ Excellentes OSTs, flippantes à souhait
+++ Réalis° vive et efficace, avec greats effects, cadrages, lumières, décors, ...
### Storyline assez tortueuse, volontairement sanglante
### Très peu de place pr la romance (suggérée, 1 seul kiss)
### Pas mal de plotholes et coïncidences un peu trop évidentes.
=> Bonne série historique d'investigation / Mystère.

Unexpectedly good
At first i was skeptical of how this shows turns out. How i dislike FL at first for even though i like strong FL, i hate unreasonable women the most, and i find ZKY as a rival for ML is a menace.But as the story progresses, FL gotten even smarter, ZKY looks aggresive, yet i finally notice his subtle admiration to ML’s ability (although ZKY is also smart). I like ZKY character development so much that he might be the character i like the most throughout this series. I have no other reason to held my dislike on this series anymore.
Character development for all the leads and supports in this series is so great, although the mystery solving is laced with fantasy aspects, it all fit to answers all the questions. Of course nothing could be called perfect, but i have to say the delivery for this series is almost there.

what the heck is this writing
i cannot get passed the fact that the FL & ML knew each other since their childhood, got married, found out something was iffy with the sudden death of the people, learned her dad was hiding something which both of them figure out and when tragedy strike and her dad got killed she immediately believe he killed her father. i understand you want to blame someone but for you to act like this person is the most vile human being and not stop and think maybe it was a setup just irks me. Like don’t you know him enough to suspect that he might have been framed? You are a detective so i am sure you have witnessed many cases of people being framed and wronged.Your dad approved of you both and treated him like his son so i feel hung up on the fact that they made it seems like they don't have history together, so everything feels very fake and not believable to me.
I am really sad and disappointed as i was so excited to watch WXY in this type of drama, i like his acting but haven't had luck with enjoying the stories in his dramas

Lots of Detectiving (not a real word ?)
Really enjoyed the ML and his friendships, would have enjoyed more of that.The detective part was on point and lots of dun to watch and try and figure out as the stories evolved.
Only downside was the FL. She seems more to be playing the role of a servant rather than a lead role. Her posture is also not the greatest. Her neck cranes forward a lot and isn’t in alignmnet with her spine, her centre wasn’t strong during this filimjng. There are many short FLs in C dramas, but I never really noticed their height however I did in this and I feel it’s because she just didn’t have any real acting strength in this series. The second, third and fourth female leads were far stronger and more intersting especially the 2nd FL, she could have easily taken the lead role in this.

Great mystery to be solved
The story lays on a big mystery to be solved by the characters. Male lead Xiao Beiming (Wang Xingyue) is an astonishing detective with a sharp mind for details and deduction! He is to marry his childhood sweetheart, when he’s caught in the trap of the protagonist Yesha! 3 years passed, and when he shows himself to his beloved, she doesn’t trust him, wants to kill him, poison him, etc… she always doubted him when his character never changed!And this bothers me a lot! They grew up together, she knows him better than anyone, yet she’s the first one to believe he’s the murderer. Something is off in her character….. until he proves he isn’t and she finally says “sorry”, and he doesn’t blame her? The love story in this drama is so far problematic! Hoping that the mystery would be great until the end to compensate this lack of “Right emotions at the right time but the right people”!

Anachronistic Chinese detective story!
Two words sum up my impression of this drama: Utterly Boring!Over 2 decades later, after the West has already exhausted its crime solving, CSI and detective scripts by giving them all sorts of spins: gender switching, anachronism, racial revision, etc., the prolific Chinese drama production line has joined the trend and is putting out one version after another. Mix in the usual script ingredients: rivalry, revenge, romance, and throw in the well-established Chinese drama cliches and you still get a boring crime/sleuthing ancient Chinese drama that makes no sense and bores you half way into the first episode!

Another stupid FL
I hate to leave bad reviews. This review is not based on the actors and actresses work.I wish the writer would stop writing conflict between story and characters. FL is supposed to be experienced investigator. She claimed she only believed the evidences. She also claimed to be fair and respect the law. Well, she jumped right in injured and poisoned the ML for murdered her father. I painfully made it to sp 6. I really hate to drop; the actor who played ML is one of my favorite.

La trama obtiene lo que la trama necesita.
Cuando vi el trailer de esta serie quedé fascinada, dije fuaa algo con potencia que mezcla los misterios con lo sobrenatural. Muy pronto en la trama nos enteramos que no, lo sobrenatural no tiene nada que ver, así que no es ficción lo cual lo hizo un poco decepcionante. El trailer de la serie prometió cosas que después no cumplió.Más allá de eso el guión me pareció bastante medio pelo. Cuando Xiao BeiMing vuelve con su Shi Mei fue todo muy tranquilo, medio cualquiera además que se confundieran de veneno. Todo fue muy conveniente para la trama la verdad.
Por otro lado quedé medio decepcionada también de que Zhuge no fuera su hermano y fuera Yesha. Sí bien estoy de acuerdo con que Yesha tenía que ser alguien muy cercano a ellos, fue medio cualqui que además de ser Yesha fuese el hermano de Beiming; como que después del desarrollo de personaje que tuvo Zhuge de rival a persona que lo ayuda (que también siento le faltó un poco de emoción por parte del guión) siento que la trama hubiera cerrado mejor si él era su hermano. Sobretodo porque si le sacas a Yesha el hecho de que es hermano de Beiming la justificación de porque quiere venganza sigue cerrando igual: "vos sos un sobreviviente de la masacre que la pasó bien y yo soy un sobreviviente que la pasó mal; por eso además maté a mi familia de acogida". Le hubiera dado más sentido si su hermano era Zhuge para explicar esta corazonada que tenía el tipo de que Beiming no era el asesino, como un lazo invisible que los unía y no solo su rivalidad.
Zhuge es un personaje super rico que hubiese valido la pena explorar más, lo mismo con el pequeño dragón blanco, no sabemos nada más que pasó con Poison Valley.
En fin, fue mirable pero hay muchos puntos a mejorar.

Mais de Trinta Episódios, Zero Desperdício
Mais um drama chinês que ensina como se faz uma temporada única com fôlego de saga longa, mas sem nunca se perder em episódios de encher linguiça. São mais de trinta capítulos que aproveitam cada minuto, desenvolvendo tramas e subtramas com coesão invejável. A revelação do vilão é o golpe de mestre: planejada com tal minúcia que, embora chocante, não soa nem arbitrária nem injustificável. Os roteiristas plantaram as pistas discretamente desde o início, permitindo que o espectador remonte a lógica depois do choque. E, como se não bastasse, deram ao antagonista um destino paradoxal, ao descobrir o que é ser amado justo no instante em que fica claro que traiu quem mais o amava. Essa dor, irreversível e maior até do que a própria morte, o humaniza no final e deixa no espectador não só horror e surpresa, mas também uma ponta de pena. Une histoire de détective solide avec un bon casting
The wanted detective, c’est d’abord une histoire qui commence de façon très classique : un détective est accusé de commettre des meurtres mystérieux. Laissé pour mort lors des dernière meurtres, il revient 3 ans plus tard pour élucider ce mystère.Capturé par une policière d’élite, son ex femme, il va être rejoint par une équipe hétéroclite.
Les episodes sont cohérents, chacun apportant leur pierre au mystère. Les dix derniers sont particuliers : il y a plus d’action, d’éléments mystiques.
Là où l’histoire est très très intelligente, c’est que la bêtise faite par sa compagne au départ, qui l’empoisonne gravement par mégarde, est ce qui, à la fin, permettra la résolution de l’histoire.
Que c’est malin de la part des scénaristes !
La fin, heureuse, est vraiment satisfaisante : tous les éléments de l’histoire sont bouclés, rien n’est laissé en suspend.

Tidak semuanya harus sesuai dengan pemikiran kita
Aku akan menulis review ini dalam bahasa Indonesia supaya bisa lebih leluasa dalam berkata2.Di episode awal (mungkin dari eps 1-3) banyak orang yang berpikir bahwa apa yang dilakukan FL adalah pilihan yang bodoh. Tapi, ayolah, wanita mana yang tidak shock melihat ayahnya dibunuh di hari pernikahannya dan satu-satunya orang yang berada di lokasi hanyalah suaminya yang baru dinikahinya beberapa jam yang lalu (bahkan FL masih memakai baju pengantin). Aku rasa, apabila ada sepupu/keluarga kita yang melakukan kejahatan, meskipun kita denial tapi pasti rasa kepercayaan kita kepada mereka itu menurun (seberapa jauh, itu tergantung pribadi masing-masing).
Lanjut ke cerita kasus. Jujur, baru kali ini aku menonton drama cina bertema misteri yang semua episodenya khusus menceritakan satu kasus, yaitu Ye Sha - biasanya drama cina bertema misteri memiliki kasus baru, berbeda dari sebelumnya, dan diselesaikan tidak lebih dari 3-4 episode (seperti drama The Coroner's Diary, meskipun di akhir episode akan berbalik ke kasus utamanya). Ini adalah suatu terobosan baru karena penulis berusaha menceritakan alur penyelesaian misteri Ye Sha secara detail dan terbagi ke dalam 36 episode. Dan uniknya, kasus yang timbul itu bukanlah kasus lain (kasusnya masih berkaitan dengan Ye Sha).
Lalu, kita beralih ke chemistry antara ML dan FL. Ayolah, mereka berdua diibaratkan sebagai kakak-adik angkat yang dinikahkan. Meskipun ada rasa cinta dan terjalin pernikahan, tapi kebiasaan mereka dari kecil lebih dominan menunjukkan hubungan kakak-adik daripada sepasang kekasih atau suami-istri. Sejauh ini, chemistry mereka cukup bagus, mereka masih melakukan skinship (meskipun tidak ada ciuman). Seharusnya kita tidak bisa menilai chemistry pemeran hanya lewat adegan ciuman dan lainnya.
Untuk Second FL dan Second ML (Nona Huo dan Koroner Feng/Bai Long), jujur dari episode munculnya Nona Huo (aku lupa spesifiknya) sampai episode 22/23, aku sempat curiga dengan Nona Huo. Namun, setelah episode 24, aku mulai menurunkan rasa curiga ini. Semoga Nona Huo benar-benar orang baik karena aku akan merasa kasihan dengan Bai Long apabila Nona Huo itu nantinya ternyata salah satu komplotan Ye Sha.
Untuk scene dan pengambilan adegan, aku mengapresiasi bagaimana kru berusaha semaksimal mungkin untuk mempertontonkan mayat, hantu, dan hal-hal ekstrem lainnya. Meskipun tidak ditampilkan secara jelas (seperti yang ada di The Coroner's Diary - autopsi secara langsung), tapi ini sudah termasuk standar yang bagus.
Terakhir, sebagai orang yang mempunyai aliran seni, aku juga memperhatikan OST di setiap drama. Saya tertarik dengan OST Ye Sha (aku tidak tahu apakah judulnya Ye Sha; intinya ada lirik "Ye Sha" di dalamnya). Lagunya terdengar energik dan membangkitkan semangat untuk memecahkan kasus Ye Sha. Aku juga menyayangkan OST ini diputar di beberapa episode saja.
Untuk nilai tonton, aku berharap bisa menonton ulang. Pastinya feel yang akan dirasakan itu berbeda (karena kita sudah tahu alur cerita dan endingnya). Namun, apabila tujuannya untuk bertemu ML-FL atau sekedar menemani lunch/dinner, ini bisa direkomendasi untuk di tonton ulang.
