Consistent comedy, good casting, light storyline
From the first episode until the end this drama consistently serving a very light story, eventhough they have a heavy problem there, they make it easy to resolve. The storyline itself is very light, not to forget that this is a romantic comedy drama, cliche scene is almost in every episode, but that's what a romcom is.The comedy dynamic between Somin and Woosik is very good, good casting. no rush ending just let it flow. I love to see somin and woosik, they are just too good to pair together in this drama.

The supporting characters had the potential for meaningful storylines that could’ve enriched the drama, but they never fully take off. They appear, add some color, and fade out without proper closure. The same happens with certain conflicts, which get resolved quickly and without much emotional impact.
The ending is fine , it does its job, but it doesn’t leave a strong impression. It’s missing that memorable final scene or deeper emotional payoff that would have elevated the story.
Still, Would You Marry Me? isn’t a bad watch at all. It’s pleasant, visually appealing, and perfect for unwinding. It just leaves you with that subtle “what if they had gone a bit deeper…?” feeling once the credits roll.

Good pacing and familiar classic vibes, but the ending falls short.
Story & Vibes: This drama leans heavily into the classic rom-com formula. It immediately made me reminisce about 'Fated to Love You' combined with a modern Cinderella story. If you like the "contract marriage" and "rich guy/poor girl" setup, you'll feel right at home here.Pacing: In my opinion, the pacing was actually okay in my personal opinion. It moved along well and didn't feel like it was stalling, which made it an easy, acceptable watch from start to finish.
The Characters: While the main couple had their moments, I wish there were more from the second leads. The Second ML and FL had potential, but the show didn't give them enough focus or development.
The Ending: The biggest downside for me... The ending felt very abrupt, wrapping things up too quickly without the satisfaction of a fully fleshed-out finale.
Verdict: Overall, it's an acceptable drama. It’s not perfect, especially with the rushed ending, but the pacing and nostalgic feel make it worth checking out.

predictable plot with good casts
I really don't understand why people dislike this drama despite reading the cliche plot in the synopsis. A lot of other dramas have a similar plot, and everybody else enjoys it cuz they love such storylines. Even if it is obvious, some of the audience still want to have the story unfold. And honestly, the cast was really well picked, and the music fits the drama really well. However, despite this clichéd plot, the writer or director should have revised and improvised the script thoroughly, as the drama's plot was really light. Maybe they should have either deepened the family plot, or gotten the characters exposed for their deception to make it a more interesting apart from the comedy and romance. Also, I think the childhood plot is not that necessary, as having them as total strangers could have been a bit more intriguing. The ex-husband part could have been more amusing if he had not acted childishly all the time, cuz his part spiced up the story a bit.
Lastly, I enjoyed watching this drama because of Choi Woo Sik and Jung So Min's chemistry, as they are the people I watched most of their dramas, despite the predictable storyline with the same cliche path of ending. I only recommend this drama to people who actually enjoy such an obvious plot.

i couldnt finish it
okay so, i started watching this drama because of somin bc i like her since i watched because this is my first life and another fake marriage sounded fun, also because of the house thing but they came up with the most clichés someone could write in a drama. we're tired of the childhood friends to strangers to lovers, i dont get why korean script writers are so entitled to keep writing them, theyre boring, theyre not fun or exciting anymore. stop.i kinda started liking the nurse (?) of woojoo' grandmother way better than the leads, even rooting for her love towards sanghyeonsomin is such a good actress, why did she accept this role? her character was quite stupid ngl i couldnt stand her any second more

Likeable Actors Trapped in Tropes
As much as I liked the cast, this drama felt much longer than 12 episodes because the story didn't come together well. It couldn't decide if it was a sweet romcom, a makjang melodrama, or a sinister serial killer mystery. The Good:
• The ML and FL were cute together, but I found the 2ML and 2FL more interesting.
• The mother of the FL had some nice moments. Amor fati!
• Seo Bum June made me despise his character. I'll attribute that to his acting skills, as I adored his character in The First Night with the Duke.
The Bad:
• I have a burning hatred for infidelity, so that storyline was painful and way too long. I don't understand compassion for a cheater. The FL drove me mad with her inability to shut her ex out of her life. Block his number and stop taking his calls, for heaven's sake.
• The makjang bits with the ex's family were an intrusion.
• The entire show revolved around the house. It was massively important until it suddenly wasn't.
I gave an extra half star for keeping the drama to 12 episodes.

High expectations, huge disappointment.
Given the leads, I found the drama barely average. I had high expectations seeing them both, however, the story failed me.Everything is unnecessarily predictable, and everyone is unnecessarily connected. I understand it's a romcom, so many things would be clichés. It was annoying to see how the ex's family is always lurking around, or how someone is always there to spot them. Or how the ex just finds out about everything in no time.
It was all bearable until I saw how the FL shows her overly kind side to her ex in different situations. Her character didn't feel well written at all.

stressful af
This Drama is the enemy of peace and harmony. No one can be happy. The supporting characters are all extremely unhappy and seem eager to make the main characters’ lives miserable. What happened to cute romantic comedies without plots involving murder, betrayal, and every other crime in the world? Is it too much to ask for a work that brings joy and peace instead of causing stress with such a questionable plot? I hate “the ex” Kim Wooju, so goddamn much. He is a hideous and evil character. Was this review helpful to you?
great chemistry
The plot is typical with mix of childhood lovers, fake couple, chaebol drama, office romance but what made me watch till the end is their chemiatry. Obviously choi woo shik & jung so min are very good actors and I love both of their drama. But the second couples are the hidden gem of the show. Their relationship development to so beautiful. But this ex-husband and his family is really irritating. The whole drama just revolves around him. It get really frustating in the end as they could show some other tracks than ex-husband track.
But overall it is fun to watch.

A Warm and Comforting Romance Done Right
Would You Marry Me? is a warm and charming romantic comedy that feels truly honest and heartfelt. So Min and Woo Shik’s chemistry is the standout, they’re natural, sweet, adorable and unexpectedly perfect together. The story is simple yet funny and emotional, filled with gentle moments, beautiful visuals, and characters who feel real and lovable. It’s the kind of drama that makes you smile, brings comfort, and reminds you exactly why you love romance shows. I really enjoyed it.Was this review helpful to you?
All the formulas and recipes of a classic rom com kdrama combined
Again, a drama packed with all the classic tropes you can think of that have existed in K-drama land for who knows how long. Especially the most popular one among them, the “destined meeting” of the leads during childhood, which none of us are unfamiliar with. Fortunately... because at this point, it’s as much a staple as kimchi in Korean cuisine. That being said, it’s not necessarily bad. Some people will eat up these tropes every single time, while others have had enough and can’t stand them anymore. As for me, I’m eating it up this time because I’m simply in the mood for something like this. It’s an easy, almost mindless watch compared to what I’ve been watching recently, though I admit some scenes had me rolling my eyes.
Both the FL and ML are fine; they have nice chemistry and a fun dynamic. They’re funny at times, but nothing over the top or exaggerated. To be honest, the ML already has my whole heart with his gentleness, even though some people say his character is dull or lacks charisma, especially compared to the SML. But for me, he has his own kind of charm that completely works and really appeals to me. So far, the only character that truly bothers me is the FL’s ex. At first, he’s just your typical useless cheater, but by ep 6, his audacity and shamelessness have grown bigger than the entire universe.
Most people seem to be more drawn to the second couple and I get why. They have more mysterious tension between them than the main couple. But personally, I’m not that into them.
Overall, this is another fun, cliché-filled drama you can watch without expecting much besides silliness and maybe some fluffy romance. There are a few bits of mystery sprinkled here and there related to the ML’s family, which adds a nice little spice to the story.
