I absolutely loved this drama. I'm so happy I want to recommend it to everyone I love

I've replayed the scenes with Woo Joo and Meri over and over again, and I smile like crazy every time. They're so adorable! Their chemistry is so sweet and tender. Their kisses are so tender and loving, and their expressions are so multi-dimensional. I laughed when they pretended to be a couple, smiled when they showed kindness to each other, and blushed when they showed affection to each other. I cried along when they cried.

I absolutely loved this drama. I'm so happy I want to recommend it to everyone I love.

If you're still undecided, give it a try and decide for yourself. The production is excellent, and it seems intentional. There are so many cute scenes. It's not as repetitive as some people say.

Comedy: 10/10
Romance: 10/10
Drama: 10/10
Actors: 10/10

A mildly un(merry) disappointing watch

5.75 rating.

Yoo meri has two partners of the same name which is kim wooju. We get introduced first to kim wooju 🚩 who cheats on her. He divorces her and during the time he goes to the divorce court, on the same day he goes to meet his lover... The audacity. The shamelessness throughout the series.

This is why its called disappointMENt. Men never cease to disappoint you. Kim wooju 🚩after getting dumped by his new lover, he goes back to yoo meri and asks her to get back together. Later on in the show yoo meri connects with good kim wooju. Though kim wooju 🚩ego is so fragile he holds a press conference to expose them, even prapared a slideshow. The loser energy is unreal and unfathomable. After he kept trespassing her villa she should've filed a restraining order. The shows tried to give him a semi redemption arc in the ending but really the man is a loser.

Moving on to the evil uncle. I will not be saying alot of things on this but just a couple of things. In episode 10 or 11 good kim wooju it is revealed to him that his uncle mightve played a part in his parents death and then they talk about statute of limitations... what even is the concept of this. Does a crime have a due date to be submitted in order for justice to prevail 😭 🙏. People should go behind the bar for their crimes even if it was very long ago 😞. Another thing i wanted to point out is being divorced a taboo topic in korea?? Like genuinely acting as if its a crime... Overall the show has a okayish storyline and i watched this since i am interested in watching jung somin work even though i have no strong preference for romance hence the rating i always tell myself its good to go out of my comfort zone. Is this a must recommend to people...NOPE.

Very Bad Writing, Watched it for the Second Leads

I think the main leads had chemistry, and I enjoyed the drama a lot in the first two episodes. But the story just jumped the rails and got bogged down in boring subplots. There is the whole parents' accident, company going downhill drama, then the Ex-boyfriend and another company drama, along with all the Romcom scenes. That really doesn't add up. K-drama RomCom writing has been really bad lately. (like in the case of Tastefully Yours, again, another wasted potential) The childhood plot was also uncalled for and boring. Because of this, I think we never really saw any buildup to their relationship, which made their chemistry bland. On the other hand, I really loved the Second Lead couple; they had intense chemistry and a good storyline overall. I would have enjoyed their slow-burn romance if not for the lack of screen time with no closure.

This pairing alone had me SOLD

I knew I was going to watch this the second I saw the pairing. Choi Wooshik and Jung Somin? Honestly, you can’t go wrong with them, and putting the two together is just an absolute SERVE. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a proper romcom, and this one didn’t disappoint for even a second.

It has the usual kdrama tropes, but instead of feeling repetitive, it’s genuinely fun. You’ll catch yourself laughing, giggling, and smiling through the whole thing.

If you’ve been waiting for that one pure romcom this year, this is IT.

I don’t usually write reviews for dramas I haven’t finished yet, but this one tempted me to break the rule. So far it has been such a refreshing dose of warmth and wit that reminds me why I fell in love with kdramas in the first place.

healing and refreshing drama

Title: My Happy Pill Every Weekend: What WYMM Means to Me
Would You Marry Me has meant so much to me that it even brought me back to Twitter after disappearing for many years ever since Seo Ye Ji’s last drama. I was hooked from the moment I saw the wedding poster of So Min and Woo Shik. It looked so romantic. But honestly, at first, I didn’t think they would have such great chemistry. I always saw Woo Shik as a cute, baby-faced, slightly spoiled guy, and during the early SBS promo clips he seemed so awkward around So Min. I told myself, “Let’s wait and see how their chemistry will feel once the drama airs.”
And from the very first episode… I was gone. I stayed active on X from the premiere until the final episode last week. Even now, I’m still on X every day because I miss Would You Marry Me so much. This is the first week without it, and honestly it feels empty. I haven’t moved on at all.
There are so many reasons why I love WYMM:
Woo Joo and Yoo Meri’s love story, they’re cute, adorable, funny, mature, understanding, and supportive of each other. Their first meeting was pure chaos, and every time I rewatch it I laugh like crazy. It’s unforgettable. Woo Joo’s personality completely hooked me, he’s such an attractive man, warm and sincere. And Meri is so pretty, sweet, and lovable, truly the person who brings him happiness.
I also fell in love with all the supporting characters. The second couple, Sang Hyeon and Jin Gyeong, were adorable, a cold man paired with the cute girl. Perfect balance. Meri’s mom and sister were incredibly cool, supportive, and loving. Woo Joo’s brother and mom were pure comedy; every time they showed up, I couldn’t stop laughing. Their facial expressions alone were enough to make any scene funnier.
Even Woo Joo’s ex, annoying as he was. Through him, we saw two very different versions of Woo Joo, the past and the present, and it made new Woo Joo’s love for Meri even clearer.
And the ending… It felt perfect. Every character received a satisfying conclusion. Meri’s calm, mature behavior toward her ex was so human. And Woo Joo and Yoo Meri’s happy ending, simple, warm, complete, was exactly what I needed. Some people say the characters could have been developed more, but for me, 12 episodes was perfect. The pacing was fast, meaningful, and never dragged. I loved every moment.

And I can’t ignore this: Woo Shik and So Min’s chemistry shocked me. It was intense, natural, fresh, the kind of chemistry you can’t fake. Same humor, same energy, same rhythm. It felt like they understood each other without trying.
That’s why I miss WYMM so much. It was my comfort, my escape, my happy pill after long and tiring work weeks. It made me laugh, relax, and feel peaceful. Even now, I still rewatch scenes every night. It’s my favorite comfort drama of the year, and I’m not ready to move on yet.
WYMM didn’t just entertain me, it gave me joy, warmth, and a sense of connection that stayed with me long after the credits rolled.

What are these ratings?

I think the first two episodes have been absolutely fire. They aren't promising something that hasn't been done before or something way too intellectual. It's a combination of classic tropes that have been used before. The aesthetics look pleasant and the acting has been amazing too. I don't know why this has such a low rating with such a good start.
The number of misunderstandings that have been set up for the next week, I just know that it's gonna be filled with comic moments. Jung so min's ex is quite irritating and seeing in the preview I guess he is gonna be even more irritating in the next episode, but maybe he is needed to drive the plot and relationship fast forward

Amazing series. I just don't understand who hates the drama have such time to leave hate comments to the actors. You just hate the drama because you all want spicy scene which is unnecessary. Anyway, the drama is funny, light, fast-pace (which i truly like), and amazing chemistry. I'll recommend this drama for people who just want to enjoy and watch fun and romantic scenarios.

JungSomin really managed to create a different personality for her character

Actually, I had been bored with romcoms for a while, but JungSomin got me interested again, so I decided to give this one another chance and I wasn't disappointed. It was amazing, filled with the perfect balance of romance and comedy. The director had so many cute quips and jokes, and the actors played their roles so well and beautifully. Even though that scene wasn't anything new, I smiled happily and wanted to cheer for the characters to overcome their obstacles quickly. While waiting, I ended up watching Love Next Door and loved it so much. It's a completely different genre from Would You Marry? JungSomin really managed to create a different personality for her character. She was so talented, I can't wait to see more of her works.

❤️ 1. A light drama that fills your heart

The story isn’t trying to be complicated. It focuses on emotions, honesty, and those small moments that make you smile without realizing it. No heavy plot, just easy and comforting.

Every scene between them feels like watching a real couple. Not exaggerated, not cringe. Just soft, sweet, and full of butterflies.

Best and sweet romcom

Ok so I'm going to be honest , wymm is the best thing that happened to us fans, it was fun filled with reality check about how a normal women deal with their issues which not everyone is ready to discuss, how she end up with trash guy but still never lose her character and deal with him with her own way and end up with even more great guy who not only love her but also treat and respect her for who she's, also I loved how they never showed too fancy ml although he was from wealthy family and also why we should never trust someone blindly even if that's our own relatives, and how a mother should be supporting her child , so overall all I loved it little too much as it's not fancy but realistic story and I love ther main couple comic facial expressions that's how you do it not stiff like many others do, jung somin always delivers as she's queen of romcom and wooshik really matched her energy which was needed in a romcom, perfect casting and all but only I hated disney plus and sbs for not promoting them much otherwise everything is perfect

Would You Marry Me?

I came here because of Jung So-min, and she didn't disappoint me at all. She continues to maintain her excellent acting standards. She's still as lovely and charming as ever, and her chemistry with Choi Woo-shik is also great.
The story tells of the twisted fate of their love, which leads to their accidental reunion, even though they have to disguise themselves as husband and wife for some reason. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Very plain, very average, too many tropes

I mostly started watching this because of the main leads, I like them both and especially Jung So Min but the writing in this is just... average, plain, formulaic and trope-y.

The main problem is the story, that while it had a mildly interesting premise it doesn't feel like it was exploited to its potential by any means. You want a very plain romcom? this works, it's for you! It's watchable and has a couple of cute moments here and there and a couple of things that are mildly interesting but overall I was not impressed by anything, it's so average that week by week I was half forgetting what happened in the previous episodes.
I don't mind some clichés and tropes and if the characters make for it or the plot is interesting I can give it a pass but here with such a plain story where the main quirk aspect becomes very background and it all holds on those tropes then it just becomes something we have all seen at some point or another. There is not enough in-depth on the characters or story to make this stand out in any way for me.

- Handsome and rich ML? ✔
- Poorer FL that is struggling? ✔
- FL that is soft, submissive, always forgiving and always giving? ✔ (perfect woman right there).
- FL gets into a situation that gives her something she can't technically afford so she can live the rich live? ✔
- Second male interest (if we can call him that) that is annoying for the entirety of the show? ✔
- Mean ex-mother in law? ✔
- Leads know each other since kids? ✔
- Someone does something that they shouldn't but it's excused because they were drunk? ✔
- ML has traumatic past where parents accident was actually a murder? ✔
- Someone in the family did it? ✔
- Someone in ML's rich family that is a bit off/weary of FL's background? ✔
- FL works for or happens to do a job for ML's company? ✔
- Leads coworkers are all carefree, bubbly and extroverted? ✔
- Silly miscommunication that makes FL worried and gives her self-esteem issues about her background? ✔

As I said, I like So Min but I can't deny that I was puzzled why for the first half of the show she seemed at times to be standing there like "what I'm doing here, I don't want to do this" type of pose and expression. Her character was the martyr/devil's advocate type and since I'm not a fan I didn't enjoy the character much. ML on the other hand, despite his past and whatnot seemed to me very plain, at points he seemed as underdeveloped as some background character. In fact, I found some of the background characters to have more defined personalities than him, even if they were trope-y and single feature personalities.
Seo Bum June's character was so annoying I can't even!! (I mean, kudos to the actor, he played him well, what a piece of work!), and the plot spent way too much time on his side of the story and the end doesn't end up being that satisfactory even if at least consistent with FL's character personality. He basically suffers zero consequences despite his tantrum of entitlement.
All plot points that were supposed to create any type of tension were solved in a very quick anti-climactic way, and it's funny I have to say this because I would have preferred the plots to be different since they were not my cup of tea, but if you're going to do them at least do them well?
The uncle drama became towards the end so melodramatic and for me it crossed the line to cheap soap opera with the uncle's character overacting, it felt too overdone in general. Not only it was predictable and the audience already knew everything but the way it was quickly solved makes you wonder why they bothered. FL's ex story should have ended in the first episodes, he should have disappeared into oblivion with his new girlfriend to never be seen again. His drama with trying to expose the whole thing to in the end be solved that easily because the stars aligned was a bit... what was the point of this? The tension with ML's grandma being concerned with FL's background for half an episode was also pointless and I kept being quite tired of the miscommunication on purpose to serve the plot with the fact that you could barely call FL a divorced woman considering how the whole ordeal went, but the stigma is getting old. It's still that prevalent in Korea that can still be so overused in dramas? Either way, I'm sure they're not surprising anyone with what is already a trope in my eyes.
Second couple? interesting, more nuance, but overall not fully explored or fully developed and left at the point you want more. Him going to prison but we getting no info on what happened to his bosses felt very rushed, it was only there for his end of the story and to bury the raffle house situation, so the main drama of it was left as background.

The chemistry between the main leads was so-so for me for most of the drama, towards the end it improved a bit all of a sudden. Not going to lie it made me wonder if it was somehow also tied to what I previously mentioned of the feeling So Min was giving me for half of the drama, I don't know. I feel it's mostly towards the end of the drama that we see more intimate and relationship dynamics of the main leads and they looked cuter together.
And this is nitpicking but the wedding was unnecessary, and there were too many chairs for the amount of guests, like there was there 20 people tops and there were like 50 chairs, it was a bit eye roll.

Overall it's watchable, inoffensive and does have some average entertaining and cute moments, but it's mostly plain, formulaic and quite basic. If you don't have anything else to watch or you like the main leads maybe you want to give it a try, if you're looking for a good romantic story or substance in the plot I would say to avoid this.

PS: I want to point out the description of the drama here it's a bit misleading, especially this part "He is a talented marketing team leader and perfectionist, yet a logical narcissist determined to run the family business in his late father’s place." We don't get to see him being a perfectionist? He's NOT a narcissist, what is funny because there are a couple of narcs in the show, like FL's ex and his mother for example (the ex is clearly the golden child). ML is also not determined to run the family business, in fact he's hesitant and would prefer not to, as seen until the very last episode. If anyone is put off from this show because they have suffered from narcissistic abuse and you think it might be triggering to watch a ML that is that way let me reassure you it's not the case and he's not.
