What impressed me the most was not necessarily the story itself, because if we are being honest, the relationship at the center of the drama is undeniably toxic in many ways. There are moments filled with manipulation, emotional tension, jealousy, possessiveness, and misunderstandings that would probably be unbearable in real life. However, despite being fully aware of all these problematic aspects, I still found myself completely invested in the relationship. And I think the main reason for that is the chemistry between the two actors. Their interactions carry the entire drama. Even during scenes where the characters are arguing, hurting each other, or making terrible decisions, there is still an intensity between them that feels magnetic. They know how to create tension with very small gestures: a look, a pause during a conversation, the way they stand close to each other without speaking. It never feels flat or forced.
One thing I appreciated a lot is that the drama does not try to present the relationship as perfect or healthy. The characters are flawed, emotionally damaged, and often selfish. Sometimes they hurt each other intentionally, and other times they simply do not know how to communicate properly.
The actors manage to give emotional weight even to scenes that, on paper, might have seemed ordinary. Their chemistry feels natural, and because of that, even the quieter scenes become memorable.
I also think the drama succeeds because it understands exactly what kind of atmosphere it wants to create. There is always this feeling of emotional instability around the characters, as if everything could collapse at any moment. The romance is not soft or comforting most of the time; instead, it is obsessive, emotional, and sometimes painful to watch. But strangely, that is exactly what makes it entertaining.
Of course, the drama is far from perfect. Some scenes are overly dramatic, and there are moments where the toxicity becomes exhausting rather than compelling. However, even with these flaws, I never felt bored.
If someone is looking for a healthy romance with mature communication and emotionally stable characters, this is definitely not the right series. But if you enjoy intense chemistry, emotional tension, messy relationships, and characters who are impossible to fully love or hate, then the drama becomes incredibly addictive.

Very very cheesy cheese
- The story was very clearly a web novel adaptation, a lot of things didn't feel like they pass as something believable in a live action show, and a lot of the plot was quite ridicolous honestly. The pacing was tolerable most of the time, but I did skip some scenes especially in the middle episodes because they really dragged on. This is definitely a more "trashy" and cheesy romance show, nothing really feels realistic about it, but it still has a charm because of that. It's silly, mushy, but still kinda lovable.- The mains were all right, I think they did what they could with this plot and writing, I think Chi Cheng's character was played the best, the actor really felt like this edgelord comic character, I liked his acting! The others had lots of under/overacting that didn't really fit with the vibe all the time.
- I really liked the lighting, and the camerawork and makeup was nice too. It reminded me of Taiwanese shows (I don't watch that many Chinese ones), which are also lovely and have a good taste in that department.
- I actually really liked the songs they used as the soundtrack, but there were only a few ones so they became quite repetative fast.
- The show definitely had a few soft "corn" parts, I'm not into erotic stuff, so I skipped those. Overall it was fun to watch when I wanted something kinda over the top lovey-dovey.
- The overdub of the whole show is pretty bad though. I mean it kinda works, but so many scenes felt odd, and it pretty much messed up all the crying scenes.
- I feel like my rating is a bit high, because it really was just a cheesy drama, but I also feel like it's a bit low, because I think in its own genre it did succeed making it how they wanted it to be, so I'm at odds about what to rate it.

The perfect balance of angst, comedy, fluff, and plot
I stumbled upon Revenged Love during the summer via a podcast recommendation, watched two episodes, and never looked back!! Despite being so many episodes (and rushing to finish it out of fear of it being censored or cancelled), this drama is an easy watch and each episode is refreshing to see the leads continue to develop chemistry. The four main characters each have good character development, and the back stories of each are very good. The series does a great job of delivering both comedy and cute fluff, but being able to deliver on the serious moments and scenes (ex: Wu Suo Wei's mother and reckoning with himself, his love, and his feelings for Chi Cheng) as well as delivering funny moments. The chemistry was not lacking in the main couple, nor was it lacking for the side couple! Some BL series offer filler couples and characters on the side, but this was not the case with Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu. I found myself wanting to watch as much of their development as the main couple. This was my first Chinese BL (and only my 3rd or 4th Chinese drama and it exceeded expectations. This is a great series to watch if you want something lighthearted with good writing, plot, acting, directing, and chemistry between main leads. Just hearing the theme song gives me good vibes and a feeling of summer. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

Chemistry was 100000/10
This show was amazing. The chemistry was one of the best I’ve seen in a BL in my life. The acting… oh the acting. The actors devoured their roles. I wish I could give this show a 100/10. But why the 8.5? The plot and especially the screen writing. I just couldn’t deal with it some things they said and some of their actions. I cringed a lot of times, I faced palmed a lot of times. Felt like they weren’t adults some times. But other than that I really did love it. I fell in love with the characters. Felt like they became family and in the end even tho I was frustrated with some scenes I found myself not wanting this to end. An applause for the actorsWas this review helpful to you?
A story that is both interesting and disturbing
I started watching this series encouraged by many phenomenal reviews. I was horrified when I saw the amount of abuse, especially sexual abuse. The ML constantly forces other MLs into uncomfortable situations, ignoring clear rejections and no's. Thankfully it fades out through the story. But I think people should still acknowledge just how evil the ML is, even compared to the real villains of the story. Overall the series is very enjoyable, refreshing and has an actual plot. All the characters are fun and have distinctive personalities. Acting is phenomenal; you can FEEL the emotions. So I would recommend it if you can pretend a few things happened differently and not glamorize abusers. Was this review helpful to you?
I have mixed feelings.../J'ai des sentiments partagés...
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Overall, this show was good. I LOVE a good enemies-to-lovers romance, and this is it. Sometimes it felt annoying when it's obvious that the main character caught feelings, but he keeps denying it… Like babes, yes, you fell in love. I might potentially rewatch this show in the future, but I'm not sure.UPDATE/EDIT: While I was scrolling on MDL, I was reading other reviews on this show, and I am actually concerned. As I was reading, I read a review about how there was a ton of SA, and that there is gang r*pe in the first episode. I watched this show last year, and I don't remember that happening at all. I'm NOT saying that it didn't happen, I'm saying that I have a bad memory and I don't remember that happening at all. After watching dramas, I usually write notes all about the show, and whether or not I liked it. Apparently, while I was writing it, I didn't remember the literal SA and violence in the show. I originally thought that this was an overall good show, and, on my notes app, I ranked it a 7.5 out of 10. Currently, I have no memory of any r*pe, violence, or s*xual a**ult at all in the show. I want to confirm if this is true, but if it is, I don't want to show any attention to the violence and disgusting actions in the show. I'm going to put the original review "stars" onto this review, but please understand that I do NOT condone r*pe, violence, or s*xual a**ult.

This was sooo refreshing to watch… ohh I love when we have good looking male leads in a show and when these two are the couple, hell yeah ,,,, it was a very very good watch. I melted into a puddle with how amazing they looked together.. everything was spot on.. they made it sooo natural, it was like being there with them and watching their love story…. I need a part 2 pleaseeee, directors, plz trust me when I say this, we will eat up their happy domestic life in a drama. We will …Was this review helpful to you?
It was really enjoyable
It was really enjoyable, and I never felt bored while watching it. At first, I thought it would be cringe because of how the main character was introduced as the cold, mysterious, cool guy, but it turned out to be genuinely entertaining.I especially loved Wu Suo Wei's character. I'm not a fan of making the bottom overly cute, small, or extremely weak, so I really liked his cunning and strategic personality. The chemistry between the secondary couple was also very beautiful.

Love "Revenged Love" !
Still the best in 2025 ! I was hooked with the author's novels particularly Addicted and Counter Attack which became Revenged Love. They have everything : drama, comedy, love and its romance. Who can ever forget Gu Hai and Bai Lou Ying? And now these two lovers of Revenged Love ! I like these novels and the two series not only because of the stories but also of the many information about the Chinese and its culture which are embedded in the story and in these series. Other factors of course are the actors and the undeniable chemistry between them. In Revenge Love, the four main characters are really believable as a couple ! The acting too is superb ! Even the secondary characters are on point in their roles. Over all, I enjoy the series and looking forward for the reunion series of the two lead characters ! It is for me the best of 2025 so far ! Keep up the good work and may we have more of this kind of series because they give us not only the entertainment aspect but many life lessons and different levels of satisfaction as well !!!Was this review helpful to you?

The best double-male drama
Watching this drama makes me feel happy and happy, and I can directly feel the love of the characters in the play. The storyline is so wonderful that I fall into it. Each character scene is an effective shot. This one not only makes people want to catch up, but also want to watch it again and again, not because of how deep the plot is, but because I feel happy from the bottom of my heart, this high standard of happiness satisfaction. The two actors are very good, and the whole crew is also very good! Thank you for bringing such a good work! Was this review helpful to you?
The best BL I've ever watched — no competition
This isn't just a drama for me. It's THE drama. My obsession is way beyond normal at this point 😭 I've been counting down the days for each new episode, watching every edit, every behind-the-scenes clip, and rewatching scenes like my life depends on it.The plot? So interesting and well written. I mean, the author is already famous, so no surprise there. But the tension?? The CHEMISTRY??? It’s out of this world. The two leads are literally perfect together, on screen and off screen. As a professional BL watcher (yes, I said professional lol), this is hands down the BEST BL I've ever seen. Even my non-BL-watching friends are losing their minds over it. That's how powerful this series is.
Let’s talk about the OST real quick because WOW. I’ve been completely addicted to “Somewhere in Your Eyes” by Paper Swans ever since I heard it in the series. Like… who found this absolute gem of a song?? Massive respect to the music team. They seriously deserve a big raise. And Ziyu’s song?? His voice fits the mood so perfectly and carries the emotions so well, I get chills every time. The soundtrack really adds to the emotional depth of the story in the best way possible.
Everything about Revenged Love is flawless. The acting, the chemistry, the OST, the plot, the cinematography, the visuals (hello, the actors are literal art), and the overall production. The whole team did THAT.
I 100000% recommend it. No skips. No regrets. Just vibes, pain, tension, and perfection. If you haven’t watched it yet… what are you doing 😭
