Ending was questionable because of the acting
Very new storyline for me, nice idea but maybe the money used to make this thai bl wasnt enough to give 10/10. Each episode was nice to watch, smooth transitions from each scene, and an overall positive feeling. Personally the last episode wasnt enough for me to say "wow what a bl, it was so good". It was more of a "....aha" because yes the story is done, but the actors didnt make me feel like it was.Was this review helpful to you?
This show had it all!
The acting, the story, the direction and the chemistry was beyond my expectations for this series. Honestly I went into this show not knowing much and boy oh boy was I hooked from the first episode to the last. I loved how the story played out and how the leads fell in love along the way. This series has a simple premise, yet it was fully played out and every character was also created with backstories that we learn along the way. To say I enjoyed this series is an understatement. I fell in love with this series. They could have made 50 episodes and I would have been seated for each one. I hope this director gets to make more BL's, they definitely know what they are doing!Was this review helpful to you?
My Top Rank nowadays
I am not really expecting too much before watching this. I just suddenly watched one of the Main roles here somewhere having some events with lots of people, then my curiosity actually arose, and I am looking for something to watch, and I realized that maybe this time it's time to watch this. I really liked this series! However...
Revenged Love really packed a punch! I enjoyed it, with some real reservations. Here are my pros and cons:PROS
ACTING. This was some of the best acting I've seen in a BL in ages. Everyone was great.
CC. Interesting character. I could have done without the snakes, but that was part of his makeup, so who am I to judge? He had a lot of sexiness and charm. I do have some reservations, which I will list under cons.
YUE YUE. The girlfriend I loved to hate. I just would have liked for her to get more of a punishment.
MUSIC. Loved it!

FLAWS IN STORY. I, like some others, was bothered that the gang rape scene in Ep 1 was just brushed off as a "character flaw" in CC. I can take watching a rape scene, as long as it's portrayed as the violent act that it really is.
I am a gay guy, and the part that bothered me even more was WSW barely being able to walk the day after the first time he had sex with CC. I've engaged in all kinds of sexual acts -- even rough -- and I've never been so sore I could barely walk the next day. A guy (even into BDSM) would seriously have be so brutally raped for hours against his will for that to happen, likely to the point of rectal bleeding.
And many viewers' reactions were "Oh! Look how WSW can barely walk!" As if that was so cute and CC was such a hot sexy stud. A number of women BL writers go this way (MAME, anyone?), and there's nothing cute about it, it's gross. What if it were a woman that had been banged so hard she was limping around in pain the next day? Still cute? Still romantic?
If you want to write THAT story, make it a thriller/drama, not a love story.
I've given RL an 8.0.

the show that saved my summer
i'm writing this review a few months after revenged love finished. i thought that maybe the magic i felt while watching it would fade with time, but i was so wrong. this show, this bl, is so dear to me its hard to explain. i cant let go of chi cheng and wei wei. genuinely, this show got me through this summer. it actually gave me something to look forward to on mondays and tuesdays. honestly, the characters in this show are so peak. wei wei is HILARIOUS i love him so much he is so me. chi cheng is a bit of a red flag, yes, but COME ONNNNNN hes such a sweetie on the inside. he's such a mamas boy with wei wei's mom its so adorable. bro when wei wei's mom died and they showed the wreath that chi cheng left at her funeral saying "love your son, chi cheng" i literally LOST it. im crying just thinking about it thats how bad it is. i just love wei wei and chi cheng so freaking much. they are so perfect for each other, watching their relationship bloom and seeing in real time how wei wei's feelings for chi cheng grow was incredible. the progression of how chi cheng refers to wei wei, first wu so wei, then dabao, then we get the iconic wei wei. god its so pure i cant. i also LOVED the second couple, chengyu is the most perfect human being alive i swear hes so good for xiao shuai. speaking of xiao shuai I LOVE HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH WEI WEI SO MUCH they're so funny, especially in the beginning. i feel like revenged love was a little bit slow to pick up, but around the 4th episode things got GOOD. i cant lie tho, towards the end of the show when wei wei and chi cheng were fighting and then when chi cheng got arrested i was STRESSING and not always having a good time. but that doesn't matter because in those same later episodes i got to see my absolute DIVA wang shuo which makes everything worth it. i dont care what anyone says, i love wang shuo. should he have tried to interfere with chi cheng and wei wei's relationship? no, of course not. was it wrong and kinda insane of him to kiss chi cheng without his consent? like, yes, but also, HES COMPLEX OKAY idk i probably shouldn't love him like i do but he just feels so relateable in how he cant let go of chi cheng. this is starting to sound like a rant so let me close this out. this show is my absolute favorite bl of all time. there is no topping this one, at least not for a while. the tears i shed during this show is UNMATCHED. the characters, the plot, the acting, the writing, the MUSIC (hello that ost is literally iconic as fuck) its all just so perfect. ziyu and tian xuning absolutely hit it out of the PARK with their acting here. same with zhan xuan and liu xuancheng, and liu jun later on. these actors are so talented. the plot is so interesting and fun to watch, the characters are fun and they are played by incredible actors, the writing is fantastic and keeps you engaged for the whole show, and of course, that soundtrack. i dont usually pay attention to the music in bls but i couldn't help but fall in love with the ost for this show, sung by the one and only ziyu. i love that song so much its literally on like four of my playlists. everyone knows this intro, its SO iconic, and its so good as well. to wrap this very long, wordy, and confusing review up, revenged love isn't perect necessarily, but its perfect to me. it has all the elements that makes a bl great, and i will always come back to rewatch my favorite episodes in dark times. if you somehow haven't seen revenged love this is your sign baddie to GO FREAKING WATCH IT drop everything pull three all-nighters in a row idc what you gotta do queen just WATCH THIS SHOW NOW (jk but seriously this show is so goated you have to watch it soon).Was this review helpful to you?

Comfort drama
This drama had everything that a comfort drama need I can legit rewatch this anytime I want I was legit screaming throwing arms in air because damn it was so cuteeeeeee~ like it had everything to be a goddamn good plot like just PERFECT DRAMA EVERRRRRRR!!!!!! Revenged Love is truly my comfort drama! It had everything I could ever want in a BL emotions, twists, chemistry, and a storyline that kept me hooked from start to finish. I was literally screaming and throwing my arms in the air while watching. Every scene pulled me in, and it honestly deserves to be called one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched. China's BL comeback and we're not disappointed!
First of all, i'd like to state that i'm familiar with the original work, meaning the novel and despite the fact that it has its good and its REAL bad, I still wanted to give this a try, not only because I was curious to see how they would adpat that specific story BUT also because this is China's BL comeback and I had to be here!What can I say, this was REALLY good??? Better than I could ever imagined. The chemistry had me gagged & whenever I thought the tension could not get anymore than this, a new episode dropped. Also, I have to admit that it had been a while since I genuinely laughed and smiled while watching a BL...i'm a fan of cringe/funny stuff and oh boy do they serve so I was glad that they kept the comedic aspect and the dramatic vibe of the novel! However, don't get me wrong, it has its more serious and intense moments as well, dare i say it is, imho, a perfectly balance between drama, romance and comedy and I just keep wanting more and more !
The story is developped nicely and follows the novel quite well, marking the important arcs but I think we plummeted a little at some point or maybe dragged a few storylines for far too long which didn't allow to develop the latter part of the story, making the last few episodes rushed imho but maybe that is due to the fact that I am aware of the novel. Either way, I can only praise the acting, the chemistry and direction of this drama, they did an excellent job and removed some of the very problematic content found in the novel!
What can I say...It was very nice to be able to watch a story I had read and not feel utterly disappointed with its adaptation, quite the opposite even. The crew and the actors did a great job and I could not hope for a better Wu sowei and Chi cheng than these two! This is also such an important work as it might re-open the door for some mainland China BLs adaptations so give it some love!
If you like fun, romance, friendship, cringe, sexy and drama, revenged love is for you!

Absolutely love this!
I had watched "Counter Attack" years ago and started watching this before I knew it was a remake. At episode 3 I realized it was the same plot. Not only is it much better than the original, the writing, directing and the actors, not just the main leads, are so good. The music is great also. I believe this remake gives a better vision into the emotions of the characters and why they do what they do.I watched this with my elderly mother and 61 year old sister and all three of us loved it. We aren't gay but we also don't believe that love can be only with the opposite gender. We also loved the author's Advance Bravely and have high hopes that this bl, Advance Bravely and Addicted will have a season 2.
Thanks to everyone involved in making this film, including funding and distributing it.

The chemistry between the couple is at its peak! I’ve never yelled so much when watching a drama! I keep rewatching the previous episodes while waiting for the new one! Good downtime watch
Groundbreaking plot? No. Character development, messy dynamics, and cast chemistry? Chef’s kiss.Character's - Chi Cheng: scares me, Wu Suo Wei: dumbash but also smart, Gu chengyu - doesn't have much screen time yet but seems to the scheming type. Jiang Xiao Shuai - absolutely fav sassy doctor, he's a sweet heart. At this point I'm watching the show for him.
