This is literally the best drama I've ever seen. It had me gasping, unable to fall asleep, sobbing at midnight, trying to calm myself down, rewatching all of the episodes because I'm not willing to let go of this magic. I never thought I could be so captivated by a drama ever, plus it is my first bl drama I've ever seen. It makes me go to sleep ever night wishing there was a season two and I could see all the amazing actors, voice actors, and people who helped along the way back together again. The chemistry behind Ziyu and Tian Xuning and Liu Xuancheng and Zhan Xuan were too good and sweet to forget. I was laughing when they were laughing, crying when they were crying, I felt my heart was knotted into a million pieces. It made me recognise how hard everyone worked to make this drama a reality. All the sleepless nights, cuts, edits, the amazing choice of OST. Now I'm scrambling around on the internet trying to find a better drama, one to distract me from all that I've lost from Revenged Love. Sleepless nights, excitement for the next episodes, the look I gave to Chi Cheng every time he smoked, it all brings back memories. The first three episodes start off very chill, then episode four and five roll in. Two scenes, two kisses, two times my heart stopped. Then comes episode ten, when Wu Suowei realises there's no point in being with Chi Cheng anymore since he and Yue Yue broke up. Then realising his true feelings in episode eleven. Episode twelve....oh my I was shocked. Starts off...BANGER. I don't even know what to say. The storyline is so well constructed, I was getting hot from even watching it. Watching Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng being happy makes my day every time. Then comes episode nineteen, twenty, the most heart-wrenching episodes. I watched a spoiler before I watched the entire episode at midnight. Cried for twenty straight minutes since Wu Suowei's mother died. Before that, Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei broke up after realising the "BAIT PLAN". Screaming. Crying. Throwing up. A whole rollercoaster of emotions. I force myself to go about my day and not think about it. That episode made me realise that, the only time we realise that we haven't spent enough time with somebody is when they are gone. I felt that about my family, and right now, I feel that about Revenged Love. Randomly stumbled upon, instant obsession, and wishing that I can bring myself back in time to watch it again for the first time ever. I blink. August 12th has already past and it's been two months. Thank you, Revenged Love, for those sleepless nights, random boosts of serotonin at midnight and unforgettabable memories that have ought to last a lifetime.

Summer of 2025

I don’t think I’m in the right mental space to write this review — but anygays, here we are. This drama just ended this week, and my heart is still caught somewhere between the moonlit joy it gave me and the aching emptiness it left behind. Revenged Love didn’t just entertain me — it consumed me. It made me happy — like genuinely, over-the-moon, can’t-stop-smiling happy — and it made me hurt. And honestly? Feeling both at the same time is a miracle only a few stories can pull off.

Let’s start with the obvious: the chemistry. My god, the chemistry. Tian Xuning, Zi Yu, Zhan Xuan, and Xuan Cheng — I have no words for the magic they created. This is one of those rare, rare series where you could take any two characters, pair them up in a scene, and the screen would sizzle. They made longing feel tangible, like if you reached out, you could touch it. And this wasn’t the high-budget, overly-polished kind of production — it was modest, but the acting? The commitment? Off the charts.

This isn’t a censored “brotherhood” BL. Oh no. This is an uncensored BL that aired outside China, complete with beautifully shot NC scenes that are tender, intense, and dripping with unspoken love. You can feel the comfort level between the actors — they weren’t just acting intimacy, they were living it in those moments. And that comfort, that authenticity, is what elevates this series into something unforgettable.

The story itself… the novel it’s based on had some problematic aspects, sure. But the way they adapted and edited it here? Chef’s kiss. They took the bones of the original and stripped out what wouldn’t work, leaving us with a narrative that still feels sharp, emotional, and deeply human. And come on — it’s China. We know when they want to deliver a BL worth remembering, they go absolutely stupendo-fantabulous. The best of the best.

I won’t lie — the editing in the final episodes let me down a little. Some pacing felt off, some moments could’ve been lingered on longer. But the songs, the cinematography, the soul of the story? Perfection. And the way both couples would just hold each other’s gaze — no words, just an eternity’s worth of emotions in their eyes — that’s the kind of love story that stays with you.

And yes, I have to mention this: the BTS footage is as addictive as the drama itself. These actors? Completely at ease with BL roles, laughing, teasing, and slipping effortlessly into their characters’ intimacy. It’s rare, and it’s beautiful to witness.

Also, Wang Shou — my beautiful, beautiful princess with a disorder. (And yes, I say that with every ounce of affection in my heart.) Special mention because he stole scenes in ways I wasn’t prepared for.

The last time I felt this alive about a drama was the summer of 2019. Now it’s the summer of 2025, and Revenged Love has carved itself into my memory forever. It’s the kind of series that leaves you with withdrawal symptoms — the aching kind where you can’t bring yourself to start anything new because you’re still living in its world.

So here I am, floating somewhere between Tian and Ziyu’s fierce devotion, Zhan Xuan and Xuan Cheng’s deep pull, and the bittersweet knowledge that it’s over. And I know one thing for sure — I’ll always remember this summer.

REVENGED LOVE IS MY CURRENT OBSESSION

I started it just to check it out, but boom — first episode and I was hooked! The plot? Drama, secrets, romance… it's got everything you need to cancel your weekend plans.

The characters are sooo good. Wu Suowei (played by the amazing *Zi Yu*) is the type of guy you just want to hug and protect… even when he’s being a little dramatic. And Chi Cheng (*Tian Xu Ning*)? Rich, confident, a bit of a know-it-all — but somehow you’ll end up rooting for him too. Honestly, I’m lowkey cheering for them like they’re a real-life couple. Someone cast them again, please!

The visuals? Gorgeous. The cinematography is smooth, the cast is ridiculously good-looking, and the outfits? 10/10. Like, did we expect anything less?

The soundtrack is super catchy! It’s not the emotional ballads we usually get — it’s upbeat and addictive. “Blossom Freely” is on loop in my head and I’m not mad about it.

Also, that cliffhanger at the end of the latest episode?? Rude. I need answers ASAP. If you’re not watching *Revenged Love* yet, trust me — you’re missing out. It’s dramatic, funny, romantic, and honestly, just really fun to watch.

Name a problematic trope and you find it here.

I know, many people are going to say I'm a hater, this and that. But no,I was actually enjoying this drama as a guilty pleasure show but, I can only ignore so much. ML allowing a guy to be raped in first ep? Seriously? It's not even just "toxic". The uncountable scenes with missing consent. And shall we start our discussion on misogyny and sexism in this drama? It will take a lot of time. One can sure enjoy it as guilty pleasure, avoiding all the problematic things. You are allowed to enjoy. But so are the people allowed, who are calling out this drama and criticising it for the right things. You can enjoy a drama and still call spade a spade.

A Masterpiece of Chinese BL Romance

'Revenged Love' quickly become one of the most talked-about BL dramas, and it’s easy to see why. With its captivating performances, fresh take on romance, and stunning production, this series sets itself apart in the genre. Here’s what makes it so special:
1. The Leads’ Chemistry is Unmatched: The two protagonists Tian Xuning and Zi Yu don’t just play their roles—they breathe their roles. Their connection is palpable, from lingering glances to charged silences, making every interaction feel electric. It’s rare to see such natural, compelling chemistry on screen.
2. A Romance That Feels Authentically Chinese: Instead of relying on tired tropes, Revenged Love embraces a uniquely Chinese approach to love—subtle, restrained, and deeply emotional. The push-and-pull between the characters feels real, capturing the quiet intensity of a romance where words often go unspoken but emotions run deep.
3. Exquisite Direction and Cinematography: Helmed by a talented female-led creative team, the series is visually breathtaking. The soft lighting, thoughtful framing, and dreamy aesthetic elevate every scene, enhancing the emotional weight of the story. It’s clear that every shot was crafted with care, making the drama as beautiful to watch as it is moving.

Revenged Love is more than just a BL drama—it’s a beautifully told love story that lingers long after the credits roll. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the genre or new to BL, this one is not to be missed.

Its so funny and good

I've had trouble finding shows that appeal to me, but this series is just addictive and amazing. It stuck me from start to finish. I love it and I hope they release the remaining episodes. The characters are super well developed, and the acting of the actors is on another level! I look forward to following the next few episodes.

This drama is very good, starting from the storyline which is not monotonous, the roles of the actors are very reliable creating very good chemistry, the setting is also very cool, there are several things that do not match the novel but are still good and do not change the storyline.

How is this show more cringe than the literal ABO show I just finished??

* Trigger warning for sexual assault *

Chi Cheng has got to be one of the most insufferable characters I have ever had the displeasure of spending time with. His introduction was actually pretty cool, they make him out to be this kind of gang leader guy who has a snake fighting ring, but that all goes out the window literally episode 1. Turns out he's not a real gang leader, he's an unemployed nepo-baby with a rich daddy who steals his snakes to force his son to get a job. Honestly I'm on the dad's side. I literally cannot take this manchild seriously because any real gang leader would never have taken that long to find and get back those goddamn snakes. What do you mean it took him MONTHS? He spends like 10 episodes just hanging about being moody and he is SO WHINY like I get it you had a bad break up, but dude, Suowei literally got assaulted by his ex's new boyfriend TWICE and he's still not as insufferable about it as Chi Cheng is about his ex. Just because he occasionally does nice things like treat Suowei's wound or give him expensive gifts (using his parent's money because, again, the man is an unemployed nepo-baby) DOES NOT MEAN HE IS NICE. The man let's his friends GANG RAPE the boy he was sleeping with in literally episode one. And later in episode 10 when Suowei isn't ready to have sex yet, he goes to Suowei's friend and threatens to RAPE HIM if he doesn't convince Suowei to sleep with him. Like???? Who- WHO is shipping this couple????? I am so tired of so many shows having rapey stuff in it, do people really enjoy that?? I am crashing out.

Aside from Chi Cheng, the premise is great but my god the execution feels like a 15 year old wrote it. Suowei's ex-girlfriend, whom we're supposed to hate and feel satisfied when Suowei finally gets revenge, is so cartoonishly, one-sidedly bad that I cannot even hate her, I just don't care. There is zero dimension to the point that the eventual revenge felt unearned and flat. Not to mentions the main plot of the show and what the show is literally named after was apparently resolved by episode 12?? I've read a bit about what happens after and I simply don't care enough to keep putting myself through this.

The whole fight scene to get the snakes back and Suowei's hospitalisation were cool in a vacuum (they were well-acted and directed) but the stakes were so low (or maybe just badly set up) that I literally could not even buy into it. Also the whole art gallery set up was so fast like a few months ago neither of them had jobs and now they're just super successful on day one??

The doctor is great, he's super cute, and the guy who pursues him, (I cannot remember either of their names) is alright too. He's also a bit of a bum but not as bad as Chi Cheng, at least not in the episodes I watched. And at least he has charisma.

I simply cannot take it anymore. I can overlook some problematic elements if the characters are at least fun to watch but literally all I can do is laugh at Chi Cheng for how pathetic he is. Pacing is all over the place, most characters are cringe or just super flat. I really wanted to love this show but it wasn't meant to be.

BL of 2025!!!!

2025 has officially become the year of Chinese BL, and this masterpiece sealed the deal. I don’t know about others, but I never thought we’d get to watch a Chinese BL like this in my lifetime. That was the very first thing that drew me in, followed closely by the number of episodes and their generous duration.

Who would have thought I’d end up this obsessed with a show? You know what I mean? I’m a girly who hates snakes… but I love Chi Cheng’s snakes 😌.

So, what do I have to say about Revenged Love?
It’s a Chinese BL , built on a pretty normal storyline that might seem similar to many we’ve seen before. But if you ask me what makes it special—(yes, aside from the fact that it’s Chinese without censorship)—I DON’T KNOW!!! Somehow, everything about it felt special. From the actors to the story to the execution… It’s not the best ever, but they truly gave their best within the limitations.

I went in completely blind, but their acting and the chemistry had me in a chokehold. I’d been missing those butterflies for a while, and my cuties brought them back (they’re still flying around me 😁). Shei sheii🥹

I want to talk about my favourite characters: Chi Cheng and Xiao Shuai. I still can’t believe we witnessed a ruthless red flag turning into a lush green forest. (Yes, love can change people 💕)

And then… The cute doctor Xiao Shuai — my baby 🥹💖 — I don’t even know how to explain it, but he made me smile every single time he appeared. And his friendship with Wu Suo Wei? Pure gold.

Ohhh, the plans. Let’s talk about how the doctor and Wei Wei somehow managed to come up with the most ridiculous ideas, should have been total disasters… but every single time, they worked perfectly. Like, how?! These two are officially the cleverest (and most unexpectedly chaotic) duo I’ve ever seen in a BL 😁

Then we have Chi Cheng and Cheng Yu — started as besties, went through their drama, and eventually found their way back. It was heartwarming to see both pairs’ friendship moments alongside their love stories.

Honestly, that’s one of the things that made Revenged Love so special for me — it wasn’t just about the romance, it was about the connections between all the characters. And I’m going to miss them so much.
" I'm rich. I love you 😚 Bye bye!!!"

THE BEST BL TO COME OUT OF 2025

Aug, 12, 2025

And after dropping so many shows this year, Revenge Love takes the lead. Such an S-tier BL, I need China to produce more BLs like this cause they ate so hard. I totally forgot about other industries since Revenge Love has been something I look forward to each week.

Chi Cheng, the red flag lead who honestly was like so damn annoying at first, but I learned to love him. Also, he changed a lot for the better and I truly am happy for that. Su Wei, oh to be loved like how Su Wei loves Chi Cheng... Mans put everything on the line, he is the REAL OG YEARNER LOVER BOY. I love them both so much. The tandem, the chemistry is fantastic. I am so happy that our second leads are pretty good too, I kept looking forward to their scenes.

Overall, this is such an S-tier BL for me... Along with The Untamed, these two are my favourite, S-tier Chinese BL and in the BL world for sure!!!!

Ill miss them all so much 😢 😭
