Cute
This reminds me of kieta hatsukoi, though I loved Aoki and Ida more, but the cast here are so lovely. The story is a very cute, I think the last two episodes were a little redundant but still enjoyable.
Watarai has very beautiful and expressive pair of eyes. I also loved the 4 handsome boys they were so funny, I loved the episode where Naoya brother appears he is a dorky but somehow mature character.
There is nothing much to say about this drama tbh, it's a short cute school BL, story is very light and the cast were adorable ~~

Comfort Watch
If you like cozy tv shows that just make you forget about life this is it! The romance is well paced, not too slow, not too fast. The acting is good too. There are some "stereotypical" shy acting but I see that it is common in Japanese shows so I don't judge. Furthermore, and I usually don't notice these things, but I really liked the camera work! Especially the way certain "subtle" looks were framed with not only the zoom into the face that makes it too on the nose. Was this review helpful to you?
Their cuteness is absolutely top-notch, でも。。。。。。。。
Even though I was smiling through almost every episode like a crazy person, I couldn’t give this series more stars than it deserves. Their cuteness is absolutely top-notch, but that’s pretty much what the series offers from beginning to end. It feels like something important is missing, something essential that every strong series should have. What I truly enjoyed about this series (aside from their undeniable chemistry and cuteness) were the references. It felt like a blend of several other JBL series released in recent years. I think that’s one of the reasons it gained so much attention across different platforms.
I still hope they continue the story into their college years, but I would love to see something more meaningful, something deeper rather than just a season filled entirely with lovey-dovey moments.

An exercise in tedium.
Oh boy, another grating addition to the BL genre. I was looking for a light-hearted, breezy watch but all I got was a headache. The main leads have the depth of a piece of cardboard—and I’m pretty sure I could poke holes in their logic just as easily. They feel more like tropes than people. While Watarai’s attentiveness initially seemed sweet, it quickly devolved into a suffocating, overbearing obsession that lacked any real foundation? Even if I tried to suspend my disbelief regarding 'love at first sight,' the execution here feels unearned and hollow. Hioki’s consistently lukewarm reactions only add to the frustration. I don't get what on earth Watarai even saw in him, he's so fucking boring. Has the bar for BL dramas officially hit the floor? Needless to say, I'm beyond exhausted by the blatant misogyny towards the girl students, who are constantly reduced to rude bullies or jealous rivals. YAWN. It’s lazy and regressive writing ! There isn't a single redeeming quality here to justify sticking around past episode 7.Was this review helpful to you?
We all deserve an episode extension or SEASON 2 at least ???❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
By far the Most BEAUTIFUL series that I have watch so far. Literally MY first and last obsession. The story line was perfectly designed, all scenes were tremendously good. In regards to hioki and watarai their love for each other is pure. The cuteness, yearning and care for each other is what moved me the most. Nevertheless episode 10 is not quite enough and not fair! Like me who is really invested to the series we deserve justice with the range of episodes, to the director I hope you can extend the episode or have atleast season 2 hehe same actors and continued story line is the gift I want for this upcom8ng Christmas. Watarai ❤️Hioki! Was this review helpful to you?
Heart Fluttering Fluff Series
This live action adaptation is such a pleasant surprise.I read the novel and thought it was sweet, heartwarming and very cute. Once I watched the show, I am happy to know that they are able to give justice to the source material.
The actors for Watarai and Hioki are well chosen. They fit the characters to a T! Their chemistry is what makes this show great. The gay panic on their faces is priceless. 😆
Hopefully this show hits eveywhere so we can get a 2nd Season. With book 2 as the source material.

Deep Feeling MLs in a Simple Story
I am obsessed. This story is so simple but it just gives me endless butterflies.I think the beauty of school trip is that Hioki and Watarai are deep feeling characters in a light hearted story.
I am comforted by their emotional depth despite the story being "not that deep". And the friend group! The best part!
They feel so human and yet entertaining.
This will be my comfort drama for ages to come.

Sweet, wholesome goodness
I love this series and each of the characters. They are the gorgeous, popular crowd but are still grounded, thoughtful and kind. The main love interest is dedicated but not domineering or toxic. It leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy with each episode. It may not be a new story, but it’s well done and fun to watch. My only complaint is that the episodes are way too short (about 20 min, and I could easily watch an hour of this.) It will be a good rewatch for those days when you just need something sweet. Was this review helpful to you?
The Story plot
It's not boring to watch and its kinda cute. the actors are so good and they show the true emotions of the story. the drama is not just romance or comedy it shows how one sided crush turns it to mutual crush because of the patience and respects. the characters are great and the plots are pretty goodWas this review helpful to you?
a warm fluffy blanket
Overall: a sweet series that I could re-watch many times. Based on the book "Shugakuryoko de Nakayokunai Group ni Hairimashita" by Kakuregi Uzura which I haven't read and am reviewing the series on its own merits. 10 episodes about 20 minutes each. Aired on https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5924/school-trip-joined-a-group-im-not-close-to-2025 (not available in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong or Macau). What I Liked
- how a character was laser-focused on another character but he wasn't oppressive or creepy
- supportive friends
- honest communication, especially towards the end of episode 8
- cute and caring moments
Room For Improvement
- the awkwardness/obliviousness was a bit too much at times in the beginning
- continuity error, they were supposed to be soaking wet and the next second they looked totally dry
- nonsense: I don't think women would be screaming and waiting in a long line to take a picture with non-celebrities, he couldn't see at all without his glasses and suddenly he could see fine, 1 sip is not going to make a person tipsy/want to throw up
- (neutral) voicing inner thoughts

Swoon worthy
This is one of the cutest series i have seen, i loved it so much! I watched every episode as soon as it aired and watched every episode at least 3 times in that week before the next one aired. They just got under my skin. I just rewatched the whole series agian for tis revieuw. And i will be rewatching it a lot in the future.I just loved how Hioki evolved from extremely shy, to being the bold one to ask Watarai to be his boyfriend.
I loved episode 7 with the recap of Watarai's story. And the whole drama had so much funny moments.
The visuals in this drama were stunning and the music so much fun!
All the actors did an amazing job! The dynamics and chemistry between the mains was amazing en the kiss was good.
I hope there will be a second season, i would love to see a lot more of all of them.

Unexpected addiction
I seriously didn't think this series would make me fall in love with as much as it did. Started it thinking it is the usual coming of age cute and fluffy story (which it is), but there's something about it that pulls you towards it; be it the story itself, the actors who did a great job, the vibes it gives I can't pin point exactly. I love the ways the characters portray their feelings and how they care for other people's feelings. Seeing Hioki and Watarai navigate through different experiences while caring for each other and the people around them is just fulfilling to watch. I love their friend group, they're the kind of people that you would enjoy their company. Overall this drama has a special place for me. Hope to see more like this. Was this review helpful to you?
