Cha Eun Woo, Park Eun Bin, and team tease chaotic superpower comedy in 'The WONDERfools'
Lee You Mi (As You Stood By, Strong Girl Nam Soon, All of Us Are Dead) and Kim Nam Gil (Trigger, Song of the Bandits, Island, The Fiery Priest) are in talks to co-star in a new sci-fi K-drama.
On March 11, a Korean media outlet reported that, according to Lee You Mi's agency, the actress has been offered a role in Nightmare (literal title) and "is positively reviewing it."
Kim Nam Gil has been offered the role of the male lead. On March 6, his agency, Gilstory ENT, stated, "Kim Nam Gil has received an offer to appear in Nightmare and is currently reviewing it. However, his casting has not been confirmed."
Nightmare is a sci-fi drama set in a world where AI (artificial intelligence) can enter human dreams and design nightmares for criminals. It follows the exploits of a dark hero who, instead of sending criminals to prison, punishes them with nightmares that prevent them from getting a single day of peaceful sleep. At the heart of the series is a story about technology that manipulates the human subconscious and the crimes surrounding it.
Lee You Mi has received the offer to play Jang Gyu Eun, a police officer who carries the pain of a tragic accident she experienced in childhood. She fearlessly pushes ahead in pursuit of revenge after overcoming her horrific past.
Kim Nam Gil is in talks to play Kim Tae Yi, a detective who handles dangerous investigations within the police force. Despite the hardships he endured after losing his parents at an early age, Tae Yi is a character with an unwavering sense of justice who wields a knife rather than a gun.
Nightmare is reportedly currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to begin filming soon. Stay tuned!
