Director Shim Na Yeon (Good Boy, The Good Bad Mother) reportedly to have joined The Remarried Empress.
According to MyDaily's report, director Shim Na Yeon has collaborated with director Jo Soo Won for the Disney+ original series The Remarried Empress and completed filming.
It was known that Jo Soo Won solely directed The Remarried Empress, but as filming entered the latter half, director Shim Na Yeon was brought in. Filming proceeded smoothly and finished on schedule. Both directors, Jo Soo Won and Shim Na Yeon, attended the wrap-up party for the K-drama, held on November 18.
The team of The Remarried Empress told MyDaily, "Director Shim Na-yeon is assisting with a portion of the latter-stage filming."
The Remarried Empress tells the story of Empress Navier (Shin Min Ah), the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, who is divorced by her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon), and subsequently marries Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom.
The K-drama recently faced a controversy regarding props that bear similarity to a medal from Nazi Germany.
Earlier, the global streaming platform Disney+ held the "Disney+ Originals Preview 2025" in Hong Kong on November 13, where stills from The Remarried Empress were unveiled. Soon after the release, netizens pointed out that the medal worn by actor Ju Ji Hoon in the stills closely resembled the 3rd Class Gold Service Medal awarded by the German Nazi Party.

Netizens posted images comparing the prop and the Nazi medal on social media, questioning how such a mistake passed the production's review. Many voiced disappointment, highlighting frustration with the seeming lack of attention to detail in major productions.
Studio N, the production company, apologized, stating, "We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused due to the negligence in inspecting the costume props."
The Remarried Empress is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2026.
