It's one of my fav jiejie romances. The FL is an amazing coach and human being. And yeah, super strong. If I had to carry anyone, much less a grown man up FIVE FLIGHTS of stairs, I would've been admitted to the hospital for spinal surgery right after. We would've gone from the orthopedics dept to the OR.
I've also noticed more offbeat dramas popping up, especially in cdramaland, so maybe there's still some hope.

I was watching a random short last night, and ML opens the door to FL's home, tells off her crazy ex, and slams the door in his face so he can go back inside and make out with her.
Sounds normal, right? Simple, even.
The hilarity ensues when the ML closes the door, and I SEE SOMEONE WHO IS CLEARLY PART OF THE PRODUCTION CREW SITTING BEHIND THE DOOR! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have seen some low-budget, nonsensical shorts, but I've NEVER seen a crew member make it to the final cut. How did the director miss him in the shot? How did the editor not see him and remove him in post-production? I mean, there are free apps that can erase objects from videos and pictures. How in the world did this happen? Especially when everything else was okay for a short?
Anyway, I had a really good laugh over it. And it just makes me give more kudos to actors. I don't understand how they can make out and do love scenes with crew members sitting on the floor watching like that. I suppose you get used to it like everything else.

Ep 3 on the other hand... Hmmmmm.... I'm not vibing with the present-day arc tbvh with you 💀 How they managed to make my opinion of pookie go from "awwww" to "yikes ew" in the same episode is very interesting. I'm just really tired of MLs that feel entitled to FL's body, especially when they aren't dating anymore, like my dude... that's SA.
Then, when they cut back to the past, I was lowkey not feeling it anymore, so I took some time off and finished it later when the gross feeling wore off (and I was able to enjoy it so yay) xD Thinking about ff through the present-day scenes, at least until he stops being insufferable.
This is my issue with parallel timelines woven into the story: there's usually one that's superior, thus making the other feel really mid by comparison 😭 Why not just do something like in Begin Again? That way I can just skip the 'present day' arc if I don't like it, like I did with Begin Again... and not have to constantly have my fun ruined 😒

It's one of those dramas that are objectively good, but didn't tick a ton of my personal boxes. I liked the premise, but the plot dragged. And I liked the characters individually, but they lacked chemistry together. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to love it, but it just ended up being okay to me, and I fast-forwarded a lot near the end.
I didn't have this problem with Falling Into You at all.

You'll hardly ever hear me say this about a ML, but...bear with him for now LOL. (Ugh, not you making me defend a man). I was a little irritated with him at first too, but him and FL have such a complicated relationship, and as you can already see he got no closure. I adore FL and understand why she made certain decisions, but girlie really did a number on him before they went their separate ways. They're both definitely imperfect. But I love their relationship, and she'll get plenty of RR moments, including the infamous "Titanic handprint against a window" kiss (aka my fav kiss scene in the drama).
And after ML's initial shock and angst at them reuniting in the present, he goes back to keeping his hands to himself. He's still gonna be clingy so I'm not sure how you'll feel about that. Dude inserts himself into her plans, but to be fair she inserts herself into his life too once she finds out something. Don't want to spoil too much, so I'll just leave things there.

I loved the shopping scene! Didn't you just want to dive through the screen and hug him when he tried on sneakers that were clearly too small, but didn't want to say so? He'd rather walk around in pain than answer any of the FL's questions negatively, even when they're about his own comfort.
And uggghhh the allergic reaction! 🥺 She got her baby to the hospital QUICK. And he protected her in his own quiet way, so her ex-husband's new woman didn't see her. They're so freaking cute together.

I never finished it 🥲 The FL's lack of game, and like, social skills killed me and made me cringe LOL. Back when I started it, I was excited we were getting a domineering CEO FL, so I thought they were going to try to make her "sexy" and "cool" like they do with male CEOs. I was lowkey expecting the FL from Forever Love (I just didn't know it back then). Then I heard she gets pregnant, and pregnancy and babies are great etc., but I really dislike the unexpected pregnancy trope unless it happens at the very end where I don't have to see it LOL. I watch dramas for escapism, and pregnancy + babies do not equal escapism for me. But yeah, the drama's on hold at the moment. I do want to eventually go back and finish it, but I have to be in the right mood and frame of mind.

It did take me out of the drama. I laughed for twenty minutes, and kept rewinding to see him sitting there like a pumpkin. The fact that the leads start flirting and kissing after is a tragedy because I couldn't take it seriously. I just kept thinking about the crew member, and wondering if he was working or just watching on his lunch break.

Yes! Most full-length dramas aren't anywhere near as spicy as verticals. So vertical actors truly deserve their flowers. They are in the trenches of sensuality and cringe.

That's one thing I love about his character. He's timid, but still tries to protect his loved ones. For example, he'd let his uncle hit him, but stand in front of his aunt when his uncle turned his anger on her. I admire when people are scared, but still try and protect/help others.

Shows how used he is to stepping in when the man gets heated to take the beating instead of his aunt or nephew... 😢😢 and then FL assures him and tells him to step aside that she's got it, and AAAAAAAAAA- He looks so surprised and stressed 🥺 it's your turn to be protected, bbg!!
Of course we're on the same wavelength, and this is something you enjoyed too. 👏 Another trope I love is when the protector becomes the protected. FL was not afraid to handle his uncle. All ML needed to do was stand back and let her take care of it, and she did.
On a serious note: not to sound like an urban snob (I don't even live in a city LOL), but this is what bothers me about small towns/villages...etc. Why is a person allowed to beat up on their family, and steal from them? Everyone knew about it and acted like it was normal. Even the woman who led the FL to their house was like, "Let's stay out of it." How about no? Violence isn't "disciplining" family.
I'm not saying this never happens in cities or more populated areas, but people get away with so much in rural areas.

Yes 🥺 Loud noises and sudden movements are jarring for him, which is in line with someone who's dealt with abuse. His characterization is just...*chef's kiss*
Also, are his legs not tired? First he stood outside FL's door all night, then he stood in front of her car's window to block the sun while she took a nap since she probably didn't sleep well on that hard cot/bed. He's considerate to the very last detail.
I can't with how he's constantly trying to take up as little space as possible...
I knoooowwwww! 😭 And it's even more apparent and heart-breaking because of how big he is. It just goes to show that he's been at the mercy of others his whole life. After his parents died, he felt like a burden to his grandfather (even though his grandfather was kind) then to his uncle, who made sure ML knew he was a burden. So ML's #1 priority at all times is not to inconvenience anyone.
And later using the disposable cup instead of a cup that's right there- MY HEART
This little detail nearly broke me. Bro couldn't even bear to dirty a cup.
