Google says it's scifi
Google and Wiki always classify shows as one of the big genres (sci-fi, fantasy, romance...etc.) and I think that's why people get blindsided by stuff like magical realism. I've only found out shows had magical realism by watching them (like you) or reading reviews/film/writing blogs.

Oh, interesting. I saw it as both a surname and a given name
Gotchaaaa. It could totally be the Chinese equivalent of English surnames that also get used as given names like "Parker", "Kennedy", "Hudson"...etc. That's super cool. I've never heard "Ao" used either, but I love how it looks and sounds.

We can brainstorm in dms if you want ^^
That'd be so fun!

I call it brain vomit, which makes it sound kinda unserious but intense, which I guess is true.
I've experienced "brain vomit". I looooove how it feels 😩 And I've written some of my best stuff under it, but it comes and goes when it wants. I can't purposefully trigger it. I really wish I could train myself to do it like you. I've tried.

Yes, EXACTLLYYYYYY. Forcing them to interact like this after all of that exploded in their faces would be a scrumptious tense and honest moment, and I'm so frigging giddy just thinking about it!!! Especially with the man as the caretaker.... yummyummy
Yessssss. I'm always ready for explosive moments and climaxes in fiction, but it's the calm after the emotional storm that ends up being the most satisfying.
