Finished watching Colorful Love: Genderless Danshi ni Aisareteimasu
Well, folks, to no one's surprise, I'm pretty sure this drama altered my brain chemistry. Was it perfect? Hm probably not. Did I fucking love it? YES!!! Was it everything I was hoping for?? ALSO YEEESSS!!!! Easily one of my new fav dramas and also one of the few dramas that moved me to tears and that's extra funny considering it's a comedy 😭
So, this isn't like the regular schmegular RR dramas we're used to. This is hetGNC first and role reversal second (for those of you who don't know what GNC is, it's Gender Non-Conformity. The het stands for heterosexual). The difference lies in the fact that the leads' gender identity (especially ML's) comes in first before the role reversal. So there aren't wall-slams and forceful kisses or femdom x malesub, rather it takes the approach of two similars (both feminine people) and develops a romance based on that.

Though FL is still feminine by most standards, she took on the "ML" role between the two (like running after ML to confess her love, always gushing about how pretty he is, etc) while ML took on the more feminine role (being cute and sassy, initiating the emotional talks, etc). I think in a way, FL seems masculine compared to ML and that's the kinda shit that I loveee 😩 LOVED how they handled the fem x fem dynamic but in a role reversed way because dramas like Princess Jellyfish also do the fem x fem dynamic but it's barely RR, mostly just GNC (which is still great don't get me wrong, but yeah...), so seeing a FL that badly wants to be the protective knight to her prettyboy princess was INCREDBLE <3

ALSO, ALSO- The secondary couple is also atypical: GNC, older woman/younger man, AND somewhat RR. SML is a DIVA femboy and SFL is a workaholic girlboss who doesn't take his shit. He does chase her first and starts out rather misogynistic but omg, he ended up being one of my favssss. Pls bear with him he grows so much!!! He totally becomes her diva puppy <3 it's SO CUTE
Lastly, it's all around a really fun watch! The characters are quirky and relatable, the topics are fun and heartfelt with a lot of focus on breaking gender norms and embracing one's authentic self (some arcs dragged a bit but *shrugs* feel free to skip), the character development was solid, the comedy was funny, and the romance was CUUUTEEE (tho this IS something I wish they would've focused a bit more on, like, actually letting the leads spend time with each other as a couple doing romantic things as opposed to just being togetherTM)
Also, GREAT NEWS- it's a comedy that doesn't make the role reversal the butt of the joke!!!! YIPPIIEEE THE WORLD IS HEALING!!!!

I am in such a full-length drama slump right now though. I've lost interest in every one I've tried. I can only do verticals right now (but I'm considering crawling back to finish Glory—especially since we keep talking about fics LOL). I'm BEYOND EXCITED to report that I blacked out between the hours of 2-3AM, brain vomited, and came to only to discover more paragraphs for our fanfic that I was really happy with. No over-thinking or anything. It was amazing!
I'm definitely throwing all logic out the window, and crawling back to Glory LOL. Our fics have gotten me too excited! We haven't even started on Ao Xue x the little brother yet!

Coincidentally, my favorite story on there was called False Facades 😂 (Faltering Facade? 😉) I'm pleasantly surprised it's still up. It's about a girl who crossdresses as a guy and sneaks into an all boys boarding school to hide from her abusive uncle. Very Hana Kimi/She's the Man. I wish the site was still popular, and got a makeover.

I tend to not really watch more than 5 dramas at a time because despite being a mood watcher, I'm still also a binge watcher just a slow one. If I have more than 5 dramas on my CW, chances are they're more on-hold than CW xD But sometimes I watch an ep or two every like couple of weeks and that's still technically CW, lol

Yup! Not only were you able to revel in the FL x Didi's insane chemistry with me, you clocked the exact type of chemistry it was: slow-moving and intimate vs the traditional explosive kind we usually see in dramas.
The leads in the Princess Decree also had solid chemistry. Verdict is still out for the leads in The Other Half of Me and You because I haven't watched enough.
