You picked the best Princess Decree and Lady Painter scenes (my fav was the hot springs). I really have to get around to finishing My Lady General. I remember enjoying it, but I got distracted by something else. Now I can't remember what would've distracted me from such an elegant and pretty ML.

And I cannot start yet another drama. I just really hope the masc couple stays consistent.
I've just caught up to all the episodes that have aired, and unfortunately, I don't think the masc couple stays consistent, it's starting to lean a little more un-RR :'( I think it might be a bait-and-switch like you said, but it hasn't completely taken a turn yet.
The RR leading up to it is wonderful though, I've been really invested in their relationship!
And once the ML's secret of actually knowing martial arts and having a whole faction with multiple subordinates is out, there are VERY few kinda-trad moments but the FL turns it around immediately. The ML also keeps acting weak and trying to appeal to the FL by saying things like: "My body is too frail, this bumpy carriage ride is too much for me :(" and then falling on the FL lmao he is such a green tea

I want to scream 😩 Why??? Why can't they leave characters like this the way they are??? The message of traditional gender roles being the ideal is so pervasive. I hope the SFL resets their dynamic again, although the chances of that seem low. Please keep us posted!

MDL won't let me quote your post, @potatocouch, but I really think you'll enjoy My Lady General! It's one of my favorite RR dramas ever and got me into looking for more RR dramas. There is so much good RR, and both ML and FL are amazing 🥰 even though ML has a fake identity going on, he's still RR!
I think I got to the part where ML starts having feelings for FL, so he's ready to covertly murder anyone who harms her while pretending to be knocked over by a stiff gust of wind 😂 It was entertaining from what I remember, so I'll be revisiting it soon.
