The fact that they have to explain and reason with the audience about this choice says something about their lack of confidence in the plot. Are they really just gonna ditch Bu-Yeon/Mu-Deok character's plot out the window now after building it up for the bigger half of part 1? I have no words to express how lame it is 🤦‍♂️

And maybe there's a reason why such a plot twist is rarely seen in the media and even then it's mostly because the actor died or did something bad and had to be replaced for the show to continue. Audience's reaction usually is unfavorable, especially if the previous actor did a very fine job.

Those who plan to watch part 2 are already open minded enough. There are many people though who said their AoS ended half way through episode 20, which is valid as well. It is very hard to stay open minded though for those who were really invested in the established characters, and by that I mean Mu-Deok character specifically. Good for you if you weren't.

Yea, I think Uk is on the run and acting as a vigilante trying to uncover Jin Mu's plot.
I think current royal family needs to get dethroned for being Jin Mu's villainy enablers. Also, the king is a crazy evil bastard all on his own. Not only did they not punish him, they even promoted him. And that massacre at the end of part 1 is directly on CP's hands.

I think most people are pissed off most of all because they got attached to JSM's representation of Naksu. She defined Naksu character, not GYJ, who got barely a cameo. Yea, GYJ's face was og Naksu's face, but after 20 episodes nobody cared, many people even forgot how she looked like and were confused as to who was it in the preview.
So it's only natural to feel so hugely disappointed by the actress swap after 2/3 of the show. I've seen the same sentiment everywhere - on MDL, reddit, twitter, YouTube, tabloids etc. People wanted Uk and Mu-Deok to have a happy ending and they feel Mu-Deok character was done dirty. Nobody cares about og Naksu's body, many people don't even care about unresolved Bu-Yeon plot.
Personally, I said it from the start that the writers didn't seem to understand that this is not a novel where you imagine whatever, this is a TV show people watch on screen with their eyes and firmly attach actors faces to their respective characters. So sudden actor swap is a hard sell for the audience. Writers were too deep into their scripts to get it seems.

Not sure about Park Jin, but knowing how stupid and criminally forgiving everyone is around Jin Mu, I'm sure he turned everything upside down and made good guys look bad again.

But did they grow older? Aside from Jin Mu's beard, which may have been dyed in part 1 since his head hair is already white, other characters look the same, some just did a new hair-do.

But why ? Are they gonna resurrect Naksu for such a long time?
I think maybe it will be half a year at max.

I'm looking at the preview and how many characters are sporting a new haircut all of a sudden, Jin Mu's goatee even got older and turned white (or was it dyed before?). How big of a time skip will part 2 have? Or there won't be one and it's just a new style for part 2?

Unless they announce a new season it will end this winter, because they're already finishing filming part 2 and air month is already announced - December.

Hard to say anything definitive about a character we barely even know. That's such a dumb writing, come to think of it 😂 Her character wasn't even introduced properly to any other characters for 20 episodes and after all that happened to her body she just gonna be ditched in part 2. Used and abused, so to speak 😥 Writers are sure cruel.

Hypnotizing people doesn't equal erasing their memory completely. So I very much doubt part 2 will introduce the dumb amnesia trope. However, what Naksu will remember of her rampage remains to be seen. Will she remember stabbing Uk? I think she already did at the cliff when she got a hold of herself, that's why she jumped - nothing to live for anymore.

I bet Hong sisters will try to squeeze in love polygons some more, they just can't help themselves. Probably gonna make Yul hope for something again after Naksu will get her og body back. But at this point it's gonna be cringe, Yul should have some self respect and move on.

Maybe, or maybe it's a play on their names. I've seen an explanation of their names earlier - Uk's name has sun in it, Yeong means shadow.

Considering how even dead and petrified eunuch Kim who got revived with the ice stone remembered everything and an almost dead petrified guy who got revived in Sejukwon remembered he was killed by Yul, I'm guessing running wild and petrifying doesn't suddenly erase your memory. That whole magical bells induced rampage thing looked like a type of hypnotization, which it was according to Jin Mu himself. Still a shitty last minute plot device just to wreck a happy ending in my book.
