No, you mess up the sequence of events.
-Papa Jin is Bu-Yeon's real father, he got played by Jin Mu.
-Jang Kang got his hands on shaman's alchemy of souls book. He started studying it.
-Something went wrong with the baby in mama Jin's womb. She knew about the stories of the ice stone returning people from death. So she went and asked Jang Kang to help her revive her baby with it, since he's a powerful mage. Then she retrieved the ice stone from Jin vault.
-After helping her Jang Kang didn't return her the ice stone. And she couldn't snitch on him, because a) it was supposed to be destroyed; b) she asked him to do a forbidden sorcery to revive her daughter.
-Jang Kang further studied the ice stone, made new soul ejectors, etc. At around this point the late king got wind of his knowledge of the alchemy of souls.
-The late king duped Jang Kang and while soul shifted in his body slept with his wife.
You know the rest. And Jang Kang and mama Jin were not lovers, don't be ridiculous here.

Nope. Jang Kang is not Bu-Yeon's father, if that's what you're implying. Papa Jin got duped by Jin Mu to assume that.

I think the ice stone auto protected Bu-Yeon from harm that way by teleporting her inside a tornado to another place. It was already floating towards her when mama Jin tried to kill her, meaning Bu-Yeon had innate control over it. I'd bet if Bu-Yeon took control over her body she could have dispersed the barrier but since it was Naksu again, she had no means to do it properly, she could only absorb it and kill everybody inside because of magic overflow, which she thankfully refused to do.
