Korea is still a very sexist country—as evidenced by its abysmal gender gap index score, ranking 105th out of…
The problem with your view is that you assume everybody, including ML, knew about her motivations. But nobody knew her reasons and ML was in the right to call a police on her for fraud, $700k in property damages and his mistreatment. And again, there was no discrimination here based on gender, get your facts straight. If FL was a male character ML would have still bullied him, like he did with his other male workers. But he never expressed any sorts gender based slurs or derogatory remarks, nor did he ever tried to sexually harass anybody. And also, none of his workers were treated worse, or were said to be paid less based on their gender.
Your problem is you're assuming that characters knew of other characters motivations. And again, nuances are seemingly lost on you. That scene where he denied her audition and the asked her to stay by his side instead of leaving him to be an instructor was selfish on the surface, but he did it because he was terrified of losing her because of her ilness. That's why he also didn't want her to overwork herself in any way, stayed late at night to do the research on said ilness and did all those other nice things to make her comfortable at work and at home. He also was planning to leave his job for her. But after he saw how passionate she was about being an instructor he gave up trying to stop her and decided to support her by asking his teachers to give her advice and told her there's a second audition coming.
can you please point out where? I have just started the series and I wanna know before I continue
Don't listen to the other person, there was nothing sexist in this drama, that person is confused about definitions. And the example given was a badly chosen one - that situation was justified and could have been much worse if ML wasn't starting to like FL already. Just watch the drama and make an opinion by yourself. Just pay attention, mind, because there's a lot going on and motives are nuanced.
That's not sexist, look up the definition. ML's nastiness didn't discriminate on gender here - he treated everybody badly, but never in a sexist way. As for what he made FL do according to his hostage contract was revenge on her revenge on him which she pursued in the first part of the drama. He could have done much worse for what she did to him and how much money she owed him in damages, but it was pretty tame and ended very quickly after just one episode. And also, she agreed to basically everything to save her father's property and herself from jail. Furthermore, he apologized for the kiss very properly. I don't know if the nuances of this drama are genuinely lost on you or you just wasn't paying attention enough like some people here, but either way - there was nothing sexist here. Also, you might want to put what you wrote under spoilers.
I would love to see a reverse height kdrama (or even cdrama) romcom. (like Lovely Complex, but with a completely…
Yea, but where would they find a short ML when only tall actors seem to be in demand, lol? Also, the hell they've been feeding kids in SK in the past decades? Tall east Asians are still a rarity generally, it's genetics and specific nutrition. Where are all these super tall guys coming from? Or do they really select actors by height now as main criteria? I've read that Netherlands got their populace's average height as the tallest in Europe (+20cm since the 19th century) by adopting lots of dairy products such as milk to their diet, along with generally more healthy, rich foods. Is this it for SK as well?
The height difference between FL and ML here is just staggering. Probably the biggest I've seen in kdramas. I mean, yea, girls like taller guys than them but it seems to be a trend lately that kdrama ML actors have to be ~2m basketball player tall. ML just looks uncomfortable kissing her, probably gonna get a hunchback later in life 🤣. And FL being that tiny compared, with her tiny voice, somehow screams loli to me.
It's weird that the serial killer is so fixated on FL, usually they can't control their urges and kill whomever they can conveniently find. He's more like a stalker killer, than serial one. But whatever, couldn't care less about him, he's just a vibe killing dumb plot device.
I just hope they didn't change FL for stupid romance bc I liked Crystal and boys siblings relationship in season…
It seems there will be 2 female members. The older one being played by Oh Yeon Seo. And younger, looking very similar in character to Krystal's character, being played by Jang Gyu Ri.
There's something about it, right? Maybe being highly rewatchable? Or well written story?
I haven't watched it yet. Everyone's comparing it to Goblin and CLOY and I immediately lost interest because imho they were overrated af, don't want to waste my time on that again. And I've seen comments saying it gets dumb in the second half. The premise also didn't sound gripping, I'm tired of ridiculous chaebol power struggle plots. I'm currently watching Lovely Runner, overrated as well, but still interesting, not your usual soap, watching FL acting dumb is a struggle at times though.
Yea, he's a kdrama character. Irl guys like that don't exist 🤣 Irl, he'd be buddies with Tae Sung hooking up girls left and right with that face without a care in the world. Staying a virgin for a decade on the chance that his first love would turn up at the date and place they've promised in high school is just somewhere out there only in kdrama world reality.
There are 2 watches, one with sunjae and one traveled with 34yo Sol. When 34yo Sol came back to the present after…
It returned to her as police evidence, but it's unclear during which accident and why'd she be carrying it instead of ML since her clueless self had nothing to do with him.
This drama reminds me of Steins;Gate anime, one of the best out there. ML there also tried to change the past to save FL from getting killed at the beginning. Highly recommend.

It's dreaming of actually f****** Cinderella? Or this Cinderella is so f****** bad here?
