Yea, why is it often FLs in kdramas who get to have multiple bfs and to forget that MLs even exist until something…
Not related to kdramas, but this drama's premise somehow reminded me of one Indian movie where FL ran away from the wedding with ML because she didn't want to be a housewife, but a career woman. She forgot all about him in 5 years after moving to big city, but after she got framed for bribery she met ML again who became a prosecutor. Then it was revenge served cold, was very entertaining to watch🤣. What wasn't though was FL suddenly developing feelings for ML, which he called her out on. It's apparent that ML won't take revenge on FL in this kdrama though, he's too much of a simp. But it's a sure bet FL will fall for him now since it has romance. Which I'm not sure is a good idea, can a workaholic married to her job stay in the rural town for life? Will she drop her career for the rural town loving guy? Didn't happen the first time and sounds unrealistic to happen the second time.
From the trailer😑😌 I hope this is about healing for both of them just like Hometown Cha because it seems…
Yea, why is it often FLs in kdramas who get to have multiple bfs and to forget that MLs even exist until something happens and they meet again? And MLs waiting faithfully for them like dogs without even looking at other women (this one's just so unrealistic)? Is it the similar thing to always showing FLs embarrass themselves being dead drunk while MLs are stoically white knighting through their shenanigans? I don't recall a single kdrama where ML gets drunk and acts embarrassingly. Is it because the audience are mainly women? Or they just like to make fun of women in SK, show them in various derogatory situations and idealize men?
Must have been a slow month with no news for reporters to swarm a photographer's house like she's some superstar celebrity. They tried to stage FL like she is in the first episode, but let's be real here - who cares about people behind the camera irl unless it's some world famous director? And why did she give up without a fight? Just not consistent with her "general" character.
I know these are two completely different dramas, but I liked PEB's previous one way more. And something about her acting Mok-Ha here reminded me of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. These glimpses like childish behavior, mannerisms, manner of speech were at times similar. I hope she won't get typecast into playing such roles, but I guess with EAW season 2 on the horizon it's a hollow wish so far.
Anyway, Castaway Diva was only an ok drama for me, I liked the songs and all of FL's and Ran Joo's parts of the plot. But that annoying subplot about ML's psycho father looming over the whole drama and taking about half of its screen time was a letdown. That the father was unrepentant and still tried to take away that family's happiness until the very end also left a bad taste. But I guess without that subplot there wouldn't be enough plot for even 12 episodes. I wish the drama focused more on FL's struggles on the island and later when integrating back into society, but I guess the writers didn't think it was an interesting enough topic.
This has been a trend lately in SK drama that make a girl look like a materialiatic person but with good heart.…
I didn't find much fault in FL, other than being married to work basically. An ambitious career woman who is good at what she does and takes pride in her job. And she didn't do anything bad in particular. That assistant though has soo many issues, it's a whole other topic. The only thing I found inconsistent is FL's determination. She broke down very easily after that fake story. She worked her ass off for years, likely enduring through a lot of flak through her professional life. And to give up like that was kind of inconsistent. But I'm sure she'll get back on her feet in later episodes and kicks that bish's butt.
I bet you anything she faked trying to jump off the building. the AUDACITY to only seduce the bf out of spite…
It sure looked that way. She has laid her cards bare to FL already - a sad loser with self-esteem problems being jealous of a successful person. She wants to become like FL, but she can't beat her with skill, so she settles for the next best thing - to steal from under her and ruin her life. Just a fcking bish, nothing else to say.
But it is realistic, happens all the time irl. For those who were wrongly "me too"-ed laws don't apply apparently…
From what I've seen in SK bullying allegations are the most popular way to take a public person down. Haters and jealous people make up vague stories about allegedly being bullied years ago in school by a target person, or by target person's friends at that time and we rarely see that "me too"-ed person ever again. Never mind that later there are news about "victims" being taken down in court for lying or apologizing for false accusations, nobody cares about targeted person after a while. That's mob's nastiness for ya. Adoration is fake and fleeting, and people love to hate on somebody.
It is very funny how always one person can finish someone effort in a jiff out of jealousy, unrealistic... and…
But it is realistic, happens all the time irl. For those who were wrongly "me too"-ed laws don't apply apparently - immediately guilty before being proven. And even if proof of innocence is found later the hard worked on image is ruined irrevocably anyway and in most cases they can kiss their careers goodbye. And all those lying, self promoting bishes who ruin people's lives just like that usually get off scott free, which is infuriating. But that's the crazy world we live in now.
Another drama that promotes countryside life clearly. Personally I like watching those, they are relaxing and a nice change of pace. But I hope it's not gonna turn into one of those depressing ones showing dying out towns with natives consisting mainly of elderly people.
As for the leads, I'd say that ML has anger management issues. His profession is not the root of it, it's chill af. Some deep seated dissatisfaction with his life in general more likely, not sure FL should be put to blame for it. And his acting looks rather exaggerated and not in a funny way.
FL is quite relatable though, I like her character. Awesome acting from SHS as well. Getting "me tooed" by a jealous bish with self-esteem issues who basically wanted to take her place in life is very annoying, but it happens left and right nowadays as well. I hope there will be a reckoning for her later. But those drinking scenes and staged "me too" aftermath were there to show how lonely FL is and that her obsession with work has replaced everything else in her life by the looks of it.
This one is so bad compared to Korean version 😅 . Especially the acting, bad makeup and overall feel of cheap quality. It's like television sketch parody. Couldn't watch more than 2 episodes. But if you've got nothing better to watch you can try it out just for the lulz.
I am confused why would anyone care about math courses to the mainstream level that is shown here. Instructors…
It's an Asian thing. If your kids are not studying in cram schools till 10PM every week day you're a bad, cheapskate parent and your kids will have no future prospects. That's how things are there. Insane pressure on the kids to be very competitive.
They may have the visuals, but the rest is nothing special so far.
Why'd you have to hide your insults? Also, why get so passive aggressive over somebody not fawning over actors visuals and wanting a good drama overall? If you're their fan, keep it civil.
Normal woman reaction, the guy's body language and words were quite misleading. It was actually frustrating to watch because he won't tell her about who he is or what's going on. He was just leading her on for dramatic misunderstanding's sake.
Or this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLKZBsBepwc 🤣 But I really hate all things makjang, lots of things in that drama were over the top, starting with TOP, if you know what I mean. Just made my blood boil from frustration.
Here's some of ML's power tripping:

And they did! 🤦♂️

ML's character is a bit off here so far, I agree.
