Somehow this drama got so predictable and boring that I'm skipping scenes now. Especially about that psycho dad, that plot just overstayed its welcome several episodes ago. I want more about FL becoming a pop star, not about ML's family issues. And I'm afraid they're gonna rush it with two episodes left ☹️.
Everybody wants to murder FL for being successful and grandma's favorite 😭. This reminds me of CLOY, or Graceful Family but without makjang bs. And most of it is fine, but needs more comedy. So far grandma is stealing all the comedic scenes.
Looks ok so far, but those last scenes with FL slowly running away from the killer who slowly chased her, then her getting into the car, then getting behind the barrier way closer to ML somehow and then falling weirdly into the water with washing up ashore somewhere miles away was way too extra and clumsily staged.
Other things of note was a budding feeling that they are trying to copy Goblin here or something. And FL's foster family house is the one so overused in so many dramas in the past few years it just bugs me every time I see it.
I think if they use printer it will be easy to find who thr writer is.
It didn't look like it was a special case though. More like common practice. Also, using handwriting can make the writer easier to find, not harder. Realistically, that bookstore owner should have had connections with printing houses and could have arranged printing anonymously.
Why are they copying books by hand? Widely popular woodblock printing was in Korea since 8th century and movable metal type since 13th. It's especially weird seeing that considering those books are supposedly very popular and everybody reads them.
Right? Her journey in becoming a singer ("diva" from title) is on the back-burner! She seems perfectly well adjusted,…
They've said that she needs to get a manager license and driver's license. They've only shown very briefly that she passed driving license test first try easy as pie. Really disappointing stuff.
I hate love triangles and this is giving that vibe. Except so far the romance aspect is pretty non-existent. Sure…
I know, right? Writers gave very low effort here romance vise. Maybe they shouldn't even have started that mild SML pining thing at all and left it alone.
To people complaining about lots of filler - I agree with you. That's it's only 12 episodes total makes it look even worse. I dunno, I guess I was expecting this drama to be more about FL surviving on the island and her troubles fitting in to society later. But it was glazed over and swept under the rug very quickly, making the whole premise look contrived, ridiculous and unrealistic. I was also expecting to see more about her struggles to become a budding star singer, but FL and her plot seems to have taken the backseat. That dumb and draggy policeman dad sub-plot overshadowed and taken over this drama, like the real main goal of this drama is figuring out who is Ki-Ho and solving his family's issues.
SMLs never fail to not get the girl. Looking timidly from the side while ML is going off with FL. Doing nothing and then getting upset FL's already taken. Same old, nothing new here.
Also, what's your opinion here - is there gonna be romance between the leads or is it just friendship? I'm not feeling any romantic vibes here, tbh. Maybe something from SML, but not gonna happen as I wrote above.
I'm usually late to the hypetrain and watch dramas way after they were aired, but I've noticed that most of the dramas with super high scores are usually very overrated and, delving deeper, overhyped by fans because of some idol, popular actor, or because it's based on some super popular webtoon, or some other nonsense. It makes it a real headache to find something really worth watching. To sum it up, I've wasted a lot of time because of the hype. I've now stopped looking at the scores here altogether and try out dramas that have interested me with their plot synopsis, or trailers. If there are well argumented reviews available I read them as well. And if the drama overall is s*it, then it's s*it and it's time to drop it, doesn't matter who's in it.
Ok I'm having a hard time with kiho timeline. When he was not in Seoul it was just him and his dad. I remember…
Maybe psycho dad thought he killed both the mother and Woo Hak in that domestic violence incident, told everyone she ran away with another son and went away with Ki Ho to the island to lay low. Would explain why he's not looking for her at all or the other son. Mother running away with badly hurt Woo Hak seems kinda unrealistic. Something had happened that allowed her and Woo Hak to get to the hospital and then stay away from him for good. It's also not clear whether the psycho dad was their real dad, because in the last episode he said he took them off the streets or they would have died. Maybe it was badly translated, but maybe not.
I'm so lost rn, what pond? Where do they have a pond? But it doesn't mean the police guy isn't their dad just…
They've been teasing the pond somewhere getting low on water due to drought throughout episode 6. And in the Netflix clip a car with four skeletons will be recovered from it. I dunno, I guess Ki Ho's current family could have used those dead people's identities. But how those people died and whether they were killed is unknown. What I also don't get is the timeline of events: -They're all living together with policeman dad and Woo Hak getting hit by a chair -Ki Ho living with the policeman dad alone
Also, whether policeman dad is their real dad at all - it is kinda questionable at this point because of what he said about taking them off the streets. And another thing, the policeman dad isn't looking for Ki Ho's mom and other brother at all. Like he thinks they're dead or something.
