You somewhat dislike it, having huge problems understanding the plot, taking months of breaks to be able to mentally…
Just because you liked it doesn't give you the right to belittle other viewers opinions of this drama. There are many other things to do besides watching kdramas in life, I don't have time binge most of them, so some take a while to finish, especially if some are more interesting to watch than others. And I've had no problems understanding the plot. I've had problems with narrative structure of the plot - I just didn't like the tangled web of flashbacks, they could have easily done it with a straight line narrative, but the want to dole out spoilers and characters motivations very sparingly seemingly overcame the writers here. And it's a 7 because actors still did a good job and parents part of the drama was for the most part ok, even with questionable presentation choices.
I guess we'll have to see. Looking at the synopsis if feels like it's either gonna be a hobby or daddy wants him to become the next chief of police or smth like that.
Barely managed to finish this after several months being forced to finish by a friend. It's barely a 7, imho. They should have stuck either with the kids with a a more lighthearted story for teenagers oriented audience, or with the parents with a world weary, adult problems story for mature audience. The kids part was clearly not for me, too naive and boring. They should have gotten out of the school gym more, that's all I can say. The parents part was ok for the most part, but flashbacks of flashbacks inside flashbacks got really annoying fast. Resolution of this drama was kinda meh, with a feeling like there should be season 2? But with 20 episodes long it really overstayed its welcome as it is. I just wanted it to end already by episode 14, way too many episodes and pacing at times was slow as molasses.
I have been postponing to start this drama coz it has so many good reviews that I am worried it won't meet my…
It didn’t meet mine. I’m watching this for several months now, because my friend insists we finish it. But it’s like pulling teeth, tbh. Not only I’m not seeing a 9 here, I barely see an 8. First half can be condensed into three words: teens, gym, killer. After that it’s flashbacks of flashbacks inside flashbacks of their parents' past as government agents. Don’t expect any origin stories about how they got their superpowers and it’s all down to earth with mundane adult world struggles , no disgusting “The Boys” satire or dumb Marvel here. I’m at episode 14 now and just wish it had ended already. From what I’ve seen the end’s gonna be kids beating the killer and then the show ends.
An interesting movie unconventionally set in the 70s. I especially loved the authentic representation of haenyo (diver women). I also liked one very intense and spectacular fighting scene between two Vietnam vets and a ton of gang members. Actors were good in general, but I feel it needed some comedy here, these actors could have done it well.
For some reasons it's getting boring unfortunately.... no story development or couple development or plot development…
Yea. I think it would have been better if they didn't do those annoying sudden flashbacks (which at times are confusing because same old actors are acting their younger selves with same old faces and not always wearing school uniforms), but rather told that story in normal format about their younger days and without giant 8 years old gap. Could have been a nice coming of age story, instead of an embarrassing coming home story to a village of incel simps.
That Lambo guy simp is the unfortunate SML here, I guess? Those women pining for him are so dumb, the guy's clearly overcompensating for something and it's not just about being poor in the past 🤔FL seems to attract only losers and simps.
There's nothing much to watch lately, so I'm still watching it while training. And calling someone a hater just because they're not into the otp peachy couple because of their looks or whatever is just you not wanting to hear any different opinion.
So who's the main bad villain? Is it as basic as this plot looks to be overall and it's the crazy psycho youngest son? Or is it some side character nobody would think, like SML, for example? Or is it Agatha Christie's style where everybody is in on it? I'd want it to be SML, this show is kinda boring and the mastermind villain intrigue is the only thing that makes it barely captivating.
And they just had to insert the beaten to death reincarnation trope here 🙄. As always, something, something in the past and they're fated for each other. In the last year or two it seems to be very heavily overused.
I hate bullying themes and in SK they love to show them especially over exaggerated, and always with no help, no hope, and bully always being a complete serial psycho for whom the jail cries or lifetime in a psychiatric ward. I’ve yet to see a kdrama where bullying is prevented or stopped with school staff or police as it should, there’s always another popular trope that comes into play - nepotism and corruption. What are they trying to say in these dramas? That there are no prevention laws and rules? That the system doesn’t work? What bullied people irl can learn from these dramas, how can it help them? That the only way out is violence, suicide or vigilantism? And on the other hand, irl any rumor about bullying, even years ago, is a sure way to ruin any person’s career there. So is the bullying problem really that bad in SK and hypocrisy is out the charts, or are they making these frustrating to watch, over the top bullying dramas just for sick entertainment? Anyway, hated the plot, but watched this one only for FL, she did good.
Imagine how much funnier and crazier this drama could have been if FL here was like FL from Graceful Family or It's Okay to Not Be Okay, ML wouldn't be able to keep up with her 🤣. Even though FL actress often does make that funny big eyed face, comedy is too tame and boring here, I keep wishing for something more explosive and hilarious. I guess it's good that it's not as boring as Goblin so far, which this drama clearly took ideas from.
Maybe in this screen writer's Korea, there's no other celebrities or news LOL because IRL a PR team would be doing…
She didn't have her personal PR team who worked only for her, that's the problem. Company's PR though is not there to help an individual worker and save his/her image image, that's common misconception. Company's PR is there to save image of the company and they'll drop bad ballast as soon as it starts to stink. Meaning, firing said person and cutting all ties. Cold, but that's how it is with all those "me too"-ed people. And even if innocence is proven said person unlikely will ever work there again.

Actual benefits...unproven.

I mean, come on. Like two brothers.
There's also Aziz actor from Gaus Electronics. He again plays a migrant worker.
