good drama , should watch it ..what i am disappointed about Seon U character is that , for me he is good for nothing…
well , this is a tragedy of Second male lead trope , they have no personality and character arc of their own ..they are just there to create jealousy in Male character and competition for Female lead as a prize ..Their devotion to female lead increases the worth of Female lead in the audience eyes ..They don't even move on ...they just exist
K-drama writers often struggle to write the Second Female Lead (SFL) with depth and emotional realism. She is usually reduced to one of two extremes: either a cartoonish villain driven by jealousy, or an unrealistically angelic figure with a permanently pasted smile. In both cases, she lacks emotional introspection, inner conflict, and psychological complexity.
A major reason for this narrative failure lies in the way K-dramas have constructed the Second Male Lead (SML) trope. The SML is frequently portrayed as monogamously and exclusively devoted to the Female Lead, as if he is psychologically incapable of loving anyone else in his lifetime. This exaggerated, almost absolutist devotion leaves writers trapped in a narrative limbo: if the SML cannot move on, then imagining a meaningful second love journey for him becomes impossible.
As a result, writers avoid developing an alternative romantic arc for the SML, and the SFL—who could have been that emotional counterpart—is left without narrative purpose. She exists only as an obstacle, a moral contrast, or a sacrificial figure, rather than as a fully realised human being with her own desires and contradiction
10Dance is not a perfect movie, but it chooses a different way of speaking—through feeling, movement, and unspoken emotion. It is a love story of soulmates, driven not by plot, but by fear, passion, and the flaws of human nature. The film is not concerned with conventional storytelling. Instead, it explores inner conflict and emotional tension. Ironically, Suguki is chasing perfection, while Suziki is, in his own way, chasing Suguki. Their contrast defines the heart of the movie.
Suzuki’s love is raw and unrestrained, driven by hunger and desire. He is engulfed in his own flames, consumed by the passion he cannot escape. This intensity gives the film its pulse. Ryoma has literally eaten the movie ..He made me feel like a teenager again
Cinematography , direction and color pallete of movie is beautiful
I love the girls - sober , intelligent, warm and no drama like boys
Watch 10Dance not for logic or clear answers, and not for a tightly structured plot. Watch it for the feelings it evokes, for the yearning it captures, and for the emotions that linger long after the film ends.
Don't listen to reviewers , it is really an amazing "Feel Good" drama. Plot is simple , but it was not the main point of drama to being with. Main theme of this drama is givng yourself a chance to fall in love again at any period of your life . You can start anytime ..But to fall in love again , you must embrace yourself. You must take first step. Love doesn't arrive on its own . You have to chase it sometimes. Drama has no ups and down ..there are no villains , twists or some secrets ...rather it is smooth journey and slow burn with traditional rom com flavours. Must watch...
People who are complaining that this predictable, they should know that romance and love stories are by nature of its genre are predictable. There are certain tropes which are repeated. Like enemies to lovers , friends to lovers , cindrella , cohabitation like contractual marriage, misunderstanding , beast and beauty etc etc ..only settings and time period are changed .otherwise romance plot remain the same ...we love romance because the feelings and butterflies it give us . The yearning and angst it provides. And this drama really check all boxes of good romance - acting , chemistry between the leads , love moments , sacrifices etc ..only thing that was lacking is the rushed ending ....they should have not extended the ming plot to 3 episodes .. otherwise the drama is master piece
Enjoying those bts ..sexuality is really about spectrum ..nobody is absolute straight ..I read lot of bl manhwa and one of the famous trope is that straight male lead has sex with other Male lead and this is how he fall in love and become gay ..earlier I used to find it strange trope but seeing these bts really make me believe it .if these two men would have spent more time touching and playing with each other , I am very sure they would have experimented out .....
I hope he does't chose those "simp" or "good" "loser" type of male role , who wanna be "cute " .Many male actors fall into that trap and has given flops ....Besides his acting , its his face that especially his eyes and forehead that makes him stands out ...He should do those powerful or domineering or serious or crazy roles or action . He should do grey roles ..Like Kim young Kwang who choose scrips that suit shis face and his whole dark vibe
Today's episode was very good ...This is what made this drama amazing ..it has all similar plot lines and tropes but yet the execution , chemistry is so great ..those 3 episodes wasted on food competiton has added nothing to the main plot
No idea yet. There are 2 more eps, airing next weekend.
I think she will go back to future and the king wil improved and history will change just like in Mr Queen ..why do they make time travel drama if they cant give good happy ending ..it's a fantasy , they just can give good ending rather than those bitter sweet endings
Can anybody tell me it's happy ending and sad ending ..I don't want those so called happy ending one reached to their present time .I don't count those happy ending like moon lovers and even I was not happy with the Mr queen ending as well
I dont think BAYM main plot was the romance imo, according to some people the romance in the novel was non existent,…
well yes , they have used FL --right ???so whose perspective we are looking into the story - Male lead ..not Female lead which should have been the case - second - waiting is not the issue but pacing - thats I said two episodes were enough ..competition should have ended by the end of 8th episode ..
I dont think BAYM main plot was the romance imo, according to some people the romance in the novel was non existent,…
she is main protagnist ..but unfortunately its the king who is going to loose the most --he has become the central character and focus of story ...this is a lack of good writing ...its misplacement
I dont think BAYM main plot was the romance imo, according to some people the romance in the novel was non existent,…
it was not about romance , its the absence of stakes - in story structure , stakes make us root and stuck to the story ..thats why I use first example when Fl was forced to prove herself because at that time she was fighting for her life and there was fear of losing her hands ..thats why we wanted to know the end and wanted her to win ..but in this competition , nothing is stake for the female character ..We know the king loves her so she has no problem for returning , there is no fear of her losing life because we know that king and other people will save her no matter what . ..Romance is not main plot but its definately a secondary plot ...thats why we needed that emotional stake
I just skipped 8th episode ..The whole cooking competition segement should have ended in 8th episode ..extending the competition to another 9th episode after a week is just diluted the excitement and ruined the pacing ..Actually it is boring because the stakes of comptition do not have much impact on Female protganist , may be for male lead (but he is not the focus of the show and we are not wtaching from his persepctive )..Female lead has no emotional stakes in the competition ..thats why FIRST competition was much more exciting because we were scared for Fl who will loose her hands. According to me , they should have shown that Female lead has really fallen for king and scared for him thats why it is more important for her to win before returning to her world ..
Honestly, Am I the only one, who read the novel and actually thought, the author must have been in a very confusing,…
I am not planning to read it..because it was such a old novel .and even author admitted that she was amature at that time. For me series matter where director and screen writer present their own version ..
