Definitely not. what Gao did is irredeemable but i would still be hurt if someone talks to me condescendingly in front of my classmates however genius he may be and how much ever he is helping me . And as FSM did may be get away but overall as a person i would still say LX could have treated him better. But i also know that if he keeps sugar coating and helping everyone by spoon feeding he wouldnt have time to earn and feed himself. So all in all i dont think LX is toxic. I love him as a character and happy that finally he found his happiness becase at the end of the day he was wronged by society and people surrounding him since childhood but he never turned bitter and helped silently to whoever he can like the farmer friend and most importantly didnt give up on hou ning etc.

When they were in relationship or before he was never a jerk. he did talk curtly but thats because of his background since childhood he has no patience to sugar coat. in 1-2 instances he could have dealt better with Gao though but he was never like that with ZY. also once they started dating you can see he was so soft to her and also was much better with all his friends specially Gao. you can see the change in him.
But once his sister died his only goal was revenge and he knows ZY would be stuck with him in a dead end if he does not treat her badly.
epi 27 is a different thing. He was a total jerk intentionally due to jealousy and that is due to multiple reasons.He could see what he lost from professional and personal front. Not defending him but we can see his mindset is not right. when he knows about depression he apologised and treated her with tenderness again and even gave up on L&P when it came to her. For others too he cares silently although he is curt. i can give a long long speech about that .
PS : I am a married in 30s women so i am not some teenager who find toxic males enticing and i do hate red flag and toxic characters and i have seen there are lots in C drams but i dont think LX is one of them.

Agree. First 10 epis i gave full attention and enjoyed so much . Later fast forwarded. Now i watch when i am working parallely. It started off so well but they tried to show every women characters empowerment which was not needed. As to ML FL well second lead couple had a better journey then lead couple. ML FL went from no relation to as if a relationship of a couple who have been together for decades with hardly no scenes in between. Its healthy its sweet may be but dont see that spark when they come on screen. Dont need physical /skin ship for that even eye contact can be enough if done right but i dont see any between these two. I wanted some conflict some emotions(not just her being allowed to banquet sort of conflict but how she cant be close to him sort of conflict) when YY was there but all we saw was how LW loved and cared for each and everyone except YZ.
Well enough of my rants. It is still a good series overall to watch i would say. All the Actors and their comic timing is impeccable.

yes but they should have discussed about it like is she feeling better than before or something because even if its controlled depression is not easy to endure

This drama and New Life Begins(historical drama) i am enjoying these days. both are opposites in terms of story. L&P has a heavy plot (not much since beginning you would know its happy ending but still heavier ) compared to NLB while NLB is slice of life historical drama so watching together balances out lol

I really wanted them to address by some discussion on how is ZY's depression after sometime when they are together or almost together. I dont think depression that too if its going on for years can go off like a switch. Even after she got LX back she would still need time to heal from depression i would imagine

Exact same feeling. Its a good drama overall and fresh in terms of handling different relationship specially among women and some good characters and comedy. But initially it also had sweet and cute romance . They definitely had sparks but now i feel like i am seeing an old married couple .for example it same as seeing old King YZ father and the Queen interact or just part of the household like siblings! Last 2 episodes had some scenes between them but that initial spark is lost. i dont feel like watching them!!
The fact that lot of people are moved by YY and LW parting scene and sort of shipping YY and LW is a proof that romance of YZ and LW is not up to the mark.
One reason i think this is the case is this series has a like a sequential plots and when one plot is going on with 1-2 characters are in the forefront(FL is in all somehow) others interaction take a severe backseat. Now that YY is about to leave they suddenly started showing FL cares about ML.

Me too specially the HR guy is somehow my fav among that gang. His expressions in certain scenes are so funny for example when he tells the Boss that ZY is a girl and needs her makeup kit during their team building outing !! The way he shows make up is so cute

May be this was discussed before in the comments but can somebody tell(with spoiler tag i suppose) what happens to Hou Ning in the novel? Does he join LX in his company because he seems to have good computer skills

I read lots of comments on how it felt like end of episode 27 LX and ZY moved on from past but i felt real closure was in epi 31 when she finally cried her heart out to LX on her regret of 3 years and fear of her losing him again!

The whole Li Xun's suffering started because he became more passionate about love and insulted someone in public so i dont think this drama gives any such message that "Women are more passionate about love than men" . Its just that their character is like that. ZY is more expressive with words and persistent and LX is more expressive with action than words and also little indecisive bcs he still has a burden on him. Also we should not forget LX had to depend on himself to earn and survive since childhood so he would bound to be more practical and passionate about work than ZY .

I would say it’s the case with advisor or a King. King has to listen to advisors and agree to best possible advice . Same with advisors it all depends so much on the King who might not be a wise person so I would say King has better chance to bring change so I would vouch for YZ to be a King

YZ came back injured clearly. She just asked how is his wounds !! She cared more for Hao than this definitely. So not sure why screen writer chose to involve anything but scenes between leads

Li Wei didn’t even come to receive him near the door let alone fight for him . Yesterday Kings eunuch/assistant showed more care to YZ than Li Wei for gods sake . I don’t know why script writer is so reluctant to show main couple !!

Lol I commented befor seeing the teaser actually. Yep seeing last episode I see more love and care between everyone but the actual couple so yes live between YY and LW is not out of place😀
