As for CX, he told himself that he heart wanted one thing, its always been secondary to him. So yep in the he got what his actions took him to. That is the same for XL too. They got what they took action towards.
its a drawback of harem thingy...because all mls here seems to be lacking something....yet its actually the beauty of this drama. there are reason why many people like XL, he's not a bad man in anyway and quite sacrificing in fact, for me personally I found it as both his merits and weakness. He treated XY rough throughout but despite that XY understands him and know he wont hurt her for real. But like you I have some mixed feelings about XL because of the way he treated XY initially. I dont know he had to hurt her like that random times too. Overall he's very brave and loyal. As for Jing, we can all see how decent he is. Unlike the other two mls, he's considerate of feelings both for others and for himself as well that's why he's able to confess his feelings to XY at the right and handle things in gentle touch. He did not want to take revenge because that wont give him peace. Then again being gentle can be weakness too because his enemy is his own family and both he and XY get hurt from it. Very much. At first I am not so fond of Jing on handling his family. I think S1 ends there. It needs times to understand the characters. I was quite hanged by it that I have to read the novel. I come to understand how the story make up, and how characters act towards it. As for CX, we can say that he repress his feelings for XY, I mean he hide it too well. And will burst out later in such a negative way that XY will left him in the end. if you know this title "lost you forever", according to novel its CX losing XY forever. The tragic is that he wanted to protect the ones he loves and XY was the last of his beloved that still alive but he also love her in a way she was not aware of. In the second part of the novel he did hurt her feelings without meaning to several time. the last one was a burst out one and she felt so betrayed and left him. if you see the full trailer, u will know what it is. But I heard that from leaked script the production change it into dream sequence...but novel it actually happened.
Im not sure which eps you are in now. But all the mls are very vital to XiaoYao life. She loved them all in different ways in fact. But for drama, CX will have most scenes. But if ask about love interest she officially end up with Tushan Jing in the novel. Although some may felt that she also loved XL in romance way because of several reasons. But she loves Jing so much too. There's actual one official love line. XL sort of support her to get with Jing too because they both knew their purpose in life is different. Now you maybe seeing why there are war between XL fans and Jing fans in romance topic. XL fans find Jing too weak and Jing fans find XL abusive and dominating. I am on Jing ship and so yep. LYF is one of the best drama ever I have encounter all. The production, the casts, the osts are all good. Im usually not into historical stuffs especially with harem type..😅 but lyf could change my mind about it. And I like Yang Zi chemistry with all the three mls. The only drawback is that we have to wait long for S2.
