i liked Yang zi a lot in ashes of love. watched it years ago. this is second time watching her in drama ( Oath of love) on hold. Not familiar with any of the mls here at all. I was casual viewer who suddenly fell on a ship. This drama and story is very addicted and debatable. I guess ..fans must have been debating since novels came out. So take what you like ..throw away what you dont like.

i just happen to see this comment. yep he granted it. I respect him for that side. He knew how Jing weigh in XY's heart. He acted as their mentor. And if he didn't he would not be the full XL for novel version ...therefore no need to for him to end up with XY.

"XL isn’t a true bad boy. He’s an exaggerated trope at the beginning of a fictional historical story. He shouldn’t be compared directly with a real-life person." Yep thats what I think when first watching. And even after rewatching several times of YaoLiu, as much as I respect XL, I still could not find him a good romantic partner as some comments are prasing him to be. This drama is different and there should not mixed up with other theory. But I take it as my own personal thing. The way he hurt WXL to me resemble of those real life abusers. and even in the second half of the story, to me, he still has controlling behavior towards. And I definetly do not think that his way of breaking her mirror, (memory ), not to let her know his feelings, treat her rough to the very end as extreme. I'd prefer he better let her decide to keep this memory or how to set her feelings herself. I find this behavior, a bit controlling up to end. In real life he reminds me of those romantic composer with all romantic feelings but could not actually become a good romantic life partner of someone. But thats just my personal opinion of one arc of XL character.
