Didn't Duan Jiaxu first help Sang Zhi when he was still in high school? If he's supposed to be Sang Yan's high…
In episode 14 he introduced him as a silent friend cause they were in the same class making them attend the same orientation both of them were computer science majors while Qian Fei and Chen Junwen were from different majors. Also, it is not always you get your dorm first and then your classes start in the university.
No Duan Jaixu was not wearing school uniform when he first met Sang Zhi at her home he was dressed in jeans white t-shirt and an open shirt.
Yes, there is a difference between high school college, and universities.
In most Asian countries if I'm not wrong your school goes up to 12th standard. Your high school is 9th and 10th standard then comes intermediate which is 11th and 12th or again many Asian countries 10th 11th 12th can also be considered as high school or more often known as senior secondary school and after that, you give your entrance exam for college/universities
University offers a broader range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate, diplomas in many different streams and has different departments like in drama Nanwu University has many different programs but is known for its computer science programs similarly Yihe University offers different programs but its digital media and entertainment is best-known program; whereas college is not a well know word use in Asian countries and if you are using the word college it often means it offers fewer programs like UG, PG, doctorate or it is for specific programs like engineering college, art college, architecture college.

On your second point, first, that is such a great question to ask. ngl I love how amazingly both the stories although set in the same universe tell how different life is viewed by different people.
Hidden Love has most episodes told throughout sang zhi pov. Sang Zhi was brought up in a well-to-do family with healthy boundaries. She has loving, supportive, and always present parents who encourage their children's choices so she sees a world full of warmth, happiness, and good everywhere. Hence the ochre color treatment makes the frame full of sunshine and warmth. We only get Duan Jaixu's pov in a later episode and with only a few numbers of them but when we see his backstory the color treatment of the frame changes to greyish blue and gloom showing what he is struggling with but that doesn't last longer as when he gets together with Sang zhi he sees a person who is smiling joyous and loving hence his pov also changes to that bring the same warm color treatment back in narrative.
Now the First Frost is told by both the POV, Wen Yifan and Sang Yan, it starts with Wen Yifan, she has no parents and has a life that is full of struggle, lost her father had abusive relative, and was continuously tossed from one home to another hence her view towards the world is different. Her world is not full of warmth it is much more gloomy, full of doubts and suspicions hence the drama has a greyish-blue color treatment. You will see those warm colors when the story goes into the past when Yifan was a bit happy around Sang Yan also when you see Sang Yan with his family the mood and color again change to a warm tone but they are scarcely present just like Duan Jaixu pov in HL. When Yifan left, Sang Yan was heartbroken hence making Pov cool and distant on his end as well. So as the story progresses both of their POVs will change and the drama will change its frame again
I’m a but struggling to get into this drama…well I can say two main things1. It’s hard to see this as a…
Hi, I agree. It always going to be hard to see this as a stand-alone. Not only this but also the novel since the writer chose to tell both sibling's stories. But you can see small connections. Between this drama and hidden love which is present in every episode.
If you want to know when the story is happening. What I understand is it is happening right after Sang Yan's graduation. If I'm not wrong Sang Zhi is in the middle of her last year of schooling hence she asked for college preference to go with Wen Yifan. I see many subtle connections made. From why Sang Yan drank so much on his graduation day to how the duan jaixu kept checking on Sang Zhi there are many small connections present here which were like ester egg to me.
Now I see someone point out something that I honestly didn't notice also since it is not mentioned in the official description so I don't know either if it is right or wrong in this. That is the year gap. In the original novel & Manhwa (Hidden Love) sang zhi and duan jaixu had a 7-year age gap which was changed in the drama version to a 5-year gap. But one person pointed out that in TFF it has not changed that’s why Sang Zhi looks young. So I don't know cause I thought the age was right. As both Jaixu and Yifan have started to work in the 2-3rd year of their college so I thought the age difference was the same in both dramas. But that person can also be right
Didn't Duan Jiaxu first help Sang Zhi when he was still in high school? If he's supposed to be Sang Yan's high…
If you still have some confusion please write me back. Since I don't know which exact timeline you are talking about I can't give you a pinpoint answer also the drama in 18 episodes is already almost 1 year is finished. So most probably Sang Zhi is in or starting her 1st year of college in Yihe. And Duan Jaixu is also promoted.
In the present time (TFF time when the show is ongoing) he travels to meet Sang Yan a couple of times. Not only that Sang Yan in Hidden Love tells Sang Zhi (when she was in the first year and met Duan Jaixu at Ktx stairs while celebrating a friend's birthday) that she should treat him to a meal and be grateful (kinda) cause he always kept in touch on all kind of occasion and she stopped talking to him. This is shown in the first episode when Duan Jaixu calls to wish happy new year and till then Sang Zhi doesn't visit Yihe and replies to him with excitement.
There are so many subtle details that connect both dramas in such a beautiful way.
Didn't Duan Jiaxu first help Sang Zhi when he was still in high school? If he's supposed to be Sang Yan's high…
Hope I can help.
- Every episode starts with past scenes.
-Now the drama takes place when Sang Yan has graduated and Sang Zhi is still in the last year of schooling hence going to give her college entrance. It was also before Sang Zhi went to find Duan Jaixu in Yihe and got heartbroken and cut all contact.
-Duan Jaixu met Sang Yan at university and they are dorm partners. Wen Yifan and Sang Yan are schoolmates.
- Sang Yan was heartbroken before he started his college days.
- Duan Jaixu didn't help Sang Zhi when he was in high school he helped her when he was in his first year of college. Sang Zhi was in their last year of middle school and then when he was in the third year of college he was his physics tutor for a couple of months he went to Yihe cause he got a job offer from Li Xun (his senior in his high school days, i.e., in Yihe)
-And if you have watched Hidden Love then in the last year of college Duan Jaixu returned to working almost full time and only went back for the graduation ceremony. This also happened in the past (before 1st episode of TFF started it's right after their graduation)
- also since Duan Jaixu moved to Nanwu in their first year of college Wen Yifan was in Yihe not only that she transferred to Beiyu before her last year of schooling why Sang Yan traveled to Nanwu to Beiyu in his last year of schooling hence they are often sitting in that noodle Shop
I'm glad that so many people enjoying Cdrama and now I'm seeing no one complaining how long they are. Happy that hidden love brought so many people to Cdrama and dramas like the best thing, the first frost and the white olive tree is being praised and getting the attention they deserve and a huge rain of people are watching these drama.
in the main novel the ending is sang yan proposing to her and she of course acceptsin the extra chapters they…
Yes. After the Hidden Love novel finished it has an extra chapter telling about how Duan Jaixu and Sang Zhi have a girl and similarly The First Frost has an extra chapter about how Sang Yan and Wen Yifan have a boy.
I have only watched the first episode of The First Frost, and Sang Yan's personality and mannerisms are definitely…
Can you write back after a couple of episodes? I was on episode 12 when I asked this question. I would love to read how your perspective evolves after a couple of episodes.
Tbh SY in Hidden Love was from the point of view of his sister Sang Zhi. She always saw his funny side and he…
Thank you. That's what I'm saying I didn't find any difference so I was so confuse with these comments I thought maybe I was seeing things so I wanted to confirm that
Hi, I have a question. I was constantly going to a couple of shorts, and even here in the comments, I see people commenting, "What happened to fun personality Sang Yan? Who is this dark moody person?" Sort of comments.
I will let you know what I'm going to ask and why.
- What? *Does Sang Yan from Hidden Love have a different personality, and do people find a huge difference in Sang Yan in HL and TFF?*
- why I'm asking this. I didn't notice the difference. When I was watching HL, I found Sang Yan to have layers of personality similar to Duan Jaixu. He was easy-going and bubbly around his people but rarely talked about himself. His family even his roommates didn't know much about his emotions (or I can say personal life) for example he didn't talk much about his bar and what he was doing exactly nor about why he was not going on blind dates or his girlfriend, he had no one knew why he drank too much on graduation day. There are so many things that Sang Yan in HL didn't share. Not only that, when he brought Duan Jaixu his parents didn't say that his friend might be lying to him but trusted him when he brought Jaixu and Jaixu asked for a loan, when Sang zhi ran to Yihe and sang yan took her back home he talked to his parents and asked them to not questions as she already regrets it. The parents listen, making me believe even if he had an easy-going, fun-loving personality, his character has more depth and maturity at the same time. It's just that portion was not prominent in the show. I'm not saying it was completely absent. Now I'm watching TFF, and I can still see his funny and comic side. Even though he is serious, mature, and brooding in the presence of Yifan, his behavior is still the same around his family, duan jaixu, even with Yifan when we see the old school days. And again both sides of his personality are present here as well with one being prominent and not completely absent
I can't explain how much I'm enjoying this drama and the pace it is going. I also love how both POVs differ but still stay the same and flow the same for both Sang siblings. I also love the character of Wen Yifan. ZRN is such an amazing actor in my books, and she is actually the reason I am watching this show. As I'm watching this, I love the way BJT portrays Sang Yan. (I know there are a lot of people who wanted Victor Ma but in all honesty, BJT is portraying the character so well; in most ways, he is reminding me of Sang Yan in HL)
I love both the drama and I am not the person who is comparing them to each other. Surprisingly, I can see the same manners in the characters played by different actors. That being said, here are things that I love and make me love both the drama even more. The parents, I'm glad that Sang Zhi's pov of how amazing and supportive their parents were, is the same as Sang Yan's pov, telling how amazing Sang's parents were towards their kid. Duan Jaixu and Sang Yan are present or mentioned in almost every other episode, saying their friendship is really stronger, and it is not just what Sang Zhi sees through her perspective. Also, they are never beating that allegation 🤣🤣🤣
No Duan Jaixu was not wearing school uniform when he first met Sang Zhi at her home he was dressed in jeans white t-shirt and an open shirt.
