kfans are saying hyunmin was pretending to remember jiyoung in the afterlife because he doesnt even look shocked…
I agree with this theory especially cause till the end Ji Yeong kept saying why didn't he remember her. (even to the morgue doctor) maybe that's why she is latching on to her cause when the doc was cleaning her up her nails stays inwards even in real word
You drop right before the twisting reveal in ep6. But then again people have their preferences
The light shop is not present in the real world. He is not the guardian of human beings, as his shop is not in the human realm. His shop is in limbo for strangers (and dead) who are patients in a coma and experiencing a near-death accident. Nurse Kwon says, “People say when they are in near-death experiences, they find themself in the dark (represented by that dark alley of that neighborhood); and at the end, they see the white/bright light (represented by the light shop) and it up to them to move forward from there.” The light shop has a light bulb that represents these strangers. When they are in that shop, they automatically get attracted to that light, but it is up to them to realize what had happened to them. The same case with that police officer the first time he goes into the shop; we find his light glowing dimly, representing how either he just had the accident (or) he is critical, and then we, the viewers, see him in the ICU unit meaning he made it but still in a coma and then the police officer realized that the neighborhood he is running doesn't exist. That is when he finds his shadow that doesn't have his full head in it. So he ran back to the light shop where (we see) the light he was attracted to now not that dim but started to glow bright, and we see him asking what this place is. The light shop owner was surprised and asked how he figured out that when he said, "There is only night in this place" (every time he ran, he was back to the same alleyway). Showing he was realising what had happened to him. Meaning he will be getting back soon to the human realm.
Meanwhile, Lee Ji Yeong found her spirit sitting at the last bus stop waiting; she didn't understand why she was there until she saw the bus arriving and her bf walking down. She saw something strange about him (in his case he walk a couple of minutes then just fell like a big puzzle) she freaked out then, the next day, she started sitting with a suitcase. So, as soon as he crumbles, she packs him and sews his body with thread and needle, and then he stands up. This happened for more than three days. So in the morgue, when the assistant tried to open the door and failed to do so cause it shut tight, the doctor said, "Maybe she needs more time; Maybe she is more resentful.” The workers who came to clean the shop also heard the sound of needles and thread; the monk saw her sewing her boyfriend and bow and left. So every day she walks with a suitcase to find him and sew him up. When we saw the first time blood leaking from the suitcase we didn't see the blood dripping down on the bus stand as soon as he walked down, she saw it and followed him to his home. So when he fell, she packed him up and carried him around, not knowing what to do, hence the blood flowing everywhere. She didn't kill him; he crumbled as usual as he sustained an injury in his stomach, and blood fell from there.
Now, when Nurse Kwon talks about the will and what it is like if the patient is unconscious, she indirectly says to the ghost of Lee Ji Yeong that "now everything depends on his will to live, but I don't think it his’s all alone." Then we see every time she stitches him up, the heartbeat goes up. Saying maybe when they are in limbo or in that dark alley, the loved one they meet will dedicate their will to seeing them stay alive.
Now why her boyfriend didn't remember her and she also said why he doesn't remember when HyunJu and her mother do, and the queer couple does; Cause they were all together in an accident; the other died while saving their loved one. While Ji Yeong unalive herself when he was in a coma.
Why did the owner say that many types of people come here to Hyun Ju, and she has to look for things that are different? He tells the police officer about his daughter; maybe Hyun Ju reminds him of her, and this is why he welcomes her all the time. Now, The people who come to buy the light bulb are dead people. They buy the bulb to stay alive in that limbo for more than three days. Hyun Ju always buys light bulbs for her mother, who is dead already. Who still looks like a human, but the bulb breaks everyday meaning she has to keep buying it every day, and the day HyunJu doesn't buy it, (we see) the funeral preparation where she says, "Mom, you smell like flowers" (because she was in a coffin which is filled with flowers). In the case of dead people like that tall lady and Ji Yeong, who never bought the bulb, they look more ghostly than HyunJu's mother.
The stranger doesn't need the bulb cause they are stuck in an astral projection/outer body kinda situation (not dead). They just have to realize that and get back to the real world. The realization is their will. We see by the end of ep6 the lady also realizes what actually happened before the accident. She was looking home with her partner and then took the bus. Her partner died saving her, but her ghost is present behind her all the time as she says, "I don't even want to see you.”
So, like Ji Yeong'bf always taking the last bus, which he was doing right before he had the accident, she was looking for home before she had the accident. HyunJu is stuck in going back home, and that kid is in the same situation going home after his basketball practice, and the police officer is stuck chasing that guy. They all are stuck in the same situation they were in before their accident. So was the same for the guy who was frozen when the hospital was dealing with the emergency; so was the guy who was buried alive.
Major novel spoilers ahead. It might be different in the drama, but in the novel, the kidnapper's motives are…
Thank you for putting that major spoiler on you comment I read it from novel and I said yep don't want it don't need it. So I'm taking a screenshot and will read after the show is over
"whether it's parents or family there's always a chance for revenge" :--)
I'm also hoping for get this. He is always talking about his plan and the way he is so adamant not to join his father in politics makes me wonder he is trying to uncover their crimes. Him saying Hee Joo is not part of the plan means he has a plan and he didn't want Hee Joo to getting hurt (but when he found she was basically sold by her mother he had to step in)
I think chairman hong was aware that In-a will be escaping before marriage and he helped her. Cause when Mr. Baek brought up questions about In-a, chairman hong dough the question as if he is relieved that his own daughter is not in this mess. (Making me suspect he is also aware that Sa-eon is not their real child)
Help me here, I don't know why none of us are suspecting the story told by Mrs. Baek.
"The fish details is important but we see Sang U and the kidnapper both enjoying the fish. But then is it important or just something Mrs. Baek told to hide the true nature of her son who once killed all the fish in his water tank. How can we agree on the fact that the real sa-eon loved EATING the fish and not MURDERING them."
Sa Eon is clearly adopted and like either the missing kid of that twin or idk whatever the writer's feel like…
From the start I was suspecting Sa-eon's step mom, I'm sorry I still do. The guy(kidnapper) who is cutting fish can be the real sa-eon if the order he is received is from either of the parents (I'm more inclined towards the step mom cause she is smart and has good head on her shoulder than her flirting husband and she doesn't have motive to be the master a. This will bring her real son back; b. She can take revenge on the grandfather in law who made her son let go in first place)
I'm finding Chairman Hong more interesting day by day. Hong In-a cannot flea on her own I do think chairman hong help her in some ways and he was also aware and approved of switching In-a with HeeJoo on the wedding day. When Mr. Baek ask for In-a's return chairman hong dough the question. Like he is much relieved that his own daughter is not in this mess. (I also suspect him of knowing that Sa-eon is not real son)
I also suspect that kidnapper might be the twin and other might be Sa-eon and the kidnapper is being manipulated or he was already resentful towards his twin living like a king just cause he got adopted.
The fish details is important but we see Sang U and the kidnapper both enjoying the fish. But they is it important or just some mrs. Baek told to hide the true nature of her son who once killed all the fish in his water tank. How can we agree on the fact that the real sa-eon loved eating the fish and not murdering them.
Some extra:- Now the biggest plot twists I actually want to have is Sa-eon(ML) actually know who the person is behind of this or want to find the person behind this and is secretly working with either with Park do jae or Sang U to bring the crimes of Baek family to light. He is actively denying to join his step father and he always mysteriously talk about his plan. So I wander what that is.
i just found out that many people decide to stop watching this drama after that 1 week hiatus (especially in my…
They only watch it cause of the hype and they didn't enjoyed it so postponement was easy excuse to say oh I'm disappointed on MBC doing this. While the country is in disarray MBC and other channels are still broadcasting their on going dramas. People should have compassion.
I love your theories and here are my thoughts. 1) Agree that one of the twins is fake Paik Sa Eon and the real…
Love this, love your theories. Had fun reading it. Here are some of mine. 1. I agree with you on that as well as Sang U not fully telling the story. Making me think either he is the other twin who lost his brother and is looking for him hence digging out old case or he lost a beloved friend that he (now have credibility) trying to bring the dark past of that family to light.
But yes he could be the ultimate villain giving orders. But someone points that Sang U can't be twisted (psychopath) given the fact that he can show affection and special we see him falling for Hee Joo in that broadcasting room. And that's the time when Hee Joo was not married hence is not useful to him (if he was approaching her with a motive then)
2. I agree to this as well that park do jae is red herring here cause they won't show us him wearing black and purposefully revealing someone who pushed her was also wearing black. Now I think I'm more sure cause of the preview. In preview they had sketch of the kidnapper (the Unnie-ya guys). I'm guessing they will check CCTV of that day and will find him hence the sketch being available.
On you side theory- I had the same thought process. I thought the Unnie-ya guys and fake baek sa-eon can be twin and him not being adopted made him resentful or he was made resentful towards YYS through manipulation cause he keeps claiming he knows sa-eon better
3. On second hand I have even more wild than that. Everything we know so far comes with a twist that I started to suspect the death of chairman hong youngest kid. For a second I that park do jae maybe him. Hee Joo mom address his as "dongsaeng" to hee Joo making Hee Joo middle child once she is adopted; hence the age sits right between hee Joo and do jae. Cause for someone reason he was way more disdain when sa-eon and hee Joo was close on the retreat. (Cause he knows sa-eon married his sister In-a) I know way far fetched.
4. I know Unnie-ya guys is not the main villain and also the resources the "Master" can pull makes me think he is high up who has much power and money to do so and these recent episode I am becoming more and more suspecting of Hee Joo's adoptive father, chairman hong. He is getting more and more sus episode by episode to me.
Side note: the drowning accident initially I thought it's a false memory or tempered one. I mean they did kidnapped the fake sa-eon mainly because they didn't want to have paperwork done hence leaving no proof that he is adopted for media to do the digging (hence people not knowing it was 4 kid who went missing, not three) i thought in that time he might have drowned and to cope with trauma his mind made a false memory of him being drowned by the guy wearing dragon ring (I'm guessing him his adoptive grandfather) who would have been harsh towards him in beginning like all other parents in his adoptive family.
But your theory makes more sense. Only issue I find is the ring worm by the guy doing it makes no sense
I also think park do jae is the red herring here. I also thought sa-eon is the twin but instead of do jae i thought…
Let me give you the wildest theory I had. The kid of chairman hong who died. What if he is alive and he is park do jae. The most craziest theory I had cause what we know so far is nothing so I started suspecting the death of that kid as well.
Now my theory makes sense cause when mom said to sa-eon that her sister when deaf and her "dongsaeng" died making Hee Joo the middle child. This fits with their ages. Heejoo is older than Park do jae. But park do jae always seems more interfering with Sa-eon wife cause he thinks it's his sister (In-a). I also noticed he shows more disdain than other when so-eon is closed to hee Joo on the retreat
Your theories are more confusing than the drama. Also the drowning dream was of sa-eon not sang u.1. That's a…
It's the first time the dream was shown so I don't have a theory regarding that. But the age he was shown in drowning scene is around the time he was adopted as the age of Sang u playing with Seoul master(the deranged kid who knifed the cat) was also same (saying it's around that time they switched the real son with adopted one). Maybe sa-eon (ml) was kidnapped to be adopted rather than proper paperwork or he saw how bad the real son was and the guy with dragon ring is either punishing him in same way or that memory is of the day he got kidnapped but it's a bit tampered cause of trauma
Meanwhile, Lee Ji Yeong found her spirit sitting at the last bus stop waiting; she didn't understand why she was there until she saw the bus arriving and her bf walking down.
