Also shoutout to all the great supporting characters that helped provide such an immersive experience, especially San Lai, the dad, and the stepmother :)
I believe the separation was necessary for Jiang Mu to grow into her own person. In my opinion, Jin Zhao could…
I think it’ll help also the relationship once they get tgt. JZ won’t keep thinking “what if I’m not good enough for her, what if there are better guys out there for her”. She HAS tried dating, but none of them compared to JZ.
Eps 21-22 really showcased Esther’s acting! What a beautiful yearner. The way she conducts herself also shows how much time has passed and how she has matured. Even her voice intonations changed.
Also the way they shot Nanjing was exactly how I imagined it from the books. What a great two episodes
IMO the show nailed the big picture concept pretty well so I can forgive its flaws in the details (namely the choppy a$$ editing)
Like the chemistry, staying true to the novel’s characters’ essence + plot (some screenwriters make the plot much worse despite the source material being right there; some change a novel’s HE to SE for no apparent reason), focus on the leads (some give uninteresting second leads way too much screen time and even add sometimes third leads)
So while sometimes drama’s details doesn’t make sense to me, at the end of the day, its entertainment value is a 10/10
Esther is seriously great at doing emotional scenes. And she's also good at serious roles based on MJTY. Bubbly…
I think a part of it can be attributed to her, but the directing / editing also feels choppy. Like the ML’s thirst came outta nowhere and it died down way too quickly?
The only thing I don't like about this drama- the styleing!! I hated what the fl is wearing 95% of the time and…
She almost always has a hairclip and for the love of god it bothers me so much. Her voice is fine. Her acting is fine. Everything is fine. But those darn hair clips…
Aghhhh I love how FL cutely “demands” ML to do things for her, and doesn’t let anyone else do them
I think it helps him feel valuable and needed by her (just like when they were young), despite the fact that he’s no longer the school genius / didn’t go to college. She still loves him and wants him ^_^
No. More like a tiny and vulnerable sparrow with an inner fiesty. This is just Esther Yu playing herself as usual.…
Haha yeah, someone else said her cutesy acting makes her ML pairings seem extra masculine, and I’m really enjoying the contrast in styling between Mumu and Zhaozhao here

Yeah that makes sense. Whenever I watch an Esther Yu show, I just expect her to be playing herself. I find her acting pretty entertaining so I don’t mind it hah
is Jiang Mu in the novel a cutesy fashionista with backless dresses and mini skirts? is that part of her character?
Idr but she was described as someone with a “first love” face; spoiled personality; mom is wealthy.
If helpful I think her outfits get a lot more modest and adult like after the time skip, to highlight her changes in personality too (not sure if that’s a spoiler).
My opinion after watching 8 eps… don’t jump on me pls 😅I’m neither a fan nor a hater of any of the cast.…
I think it’s more of a slow burn love story, but they accelerated the plot (from the novel) and added too many flashy racing scenes that didn’t exist in the novel.
While this isn’t first frost or l&p level story telling, it’s pretty entertaining and the chemistry is there, so it’s good enough for me

I really hope Esther and He Yu can collab again

Like that scar is his something he got irl and he was sweating BUCKETS in the bts. It all matches his character 🤣
They were looking for a candle and Esther said its fine. But He Yu insisted and told her every wish counts
Muh hearttttt

But there are also too many shows that are too draggy, making me drop halfway.
Hard to find a middle ground :’)

From stealing glances at her while she wasnt looking in the first few eps to giving her ~bedroom~ eyes while biting that dang apple 🍎
