Honestly when everything is going good this haters in guise as a passerby start talking shit about EstherYu's…
Agree!!! I actually have a problem with a number of other actors / actresses for stupid reasons (visuals, weird voice, just straight up not vibing) and drop their shows. But never felt the need to criticize them
I’m scrolling through the comments and more than half are about her voice and her unnatural acting. I’ve never…
I may be wrong, but I think part of her unnatural acting comes from so much online bullying from cnetz, making fun of her looks.
On Rednote, I’ve seen a lot of ppl take screenshots of her face mid-acting, making fun of her expressions (who wouldn’t look weird mid pause?), make fun of her weight, etc. It gets worse but I don’t want to quote it and spread the negativity.
It probably made her super self conscious and caused her to try to look pretty from every angle / shot
I still think she brings life into her characters and I’m happy to keep watching her. Her “cutesy” act here really matches the novel character and complements He Yu’s quiet and serious character well
Every idol actress has her strengths and areas for improvements. Idk why Esther gets overhated for hers (fwiw I don’t even think her voice is an issue)
I personally enjoy most of her roles. They’re typically very feminine, but she’s not weak. I’m overgeneralizing, but it feels like Hollywood and Kdramas like to make female characters take on more masculine traits to show that they’re “strong”
Anyways back to the show — it’s pretty dang good to me :) chemistry is on fire
can a novel reader spoil this for me..ML always loved her since high school or something/puberty.. because he…
I read the novel and it wasn’t clear to me when he fell for her.
My understanding is that he loved her back when they were kids, but it wasn’t based on attraction. I think he saw her as the only light / joy in his life
And then when he saw her again after all these years, he realized she’s now a woman. So that’s when the attraction started. If I recall correctly, I think he realized she grew into a woman right when he picked her up and gradually became more and more attracted.
Just finished watching. I personally have no issue with the culprit’s stupid motive. I liked how the show’s focus was on showcasing the more psychological aspects of the two women — Yun Su’s growth from a naive woman to bravely proving her own innocence, and the completion of Mo Eun’s revenge arc (along with the humanity that still exists within her).
I thought the show was well paced and very bingeable! Surprised I ended up tearing up at episode 12
that's her greed that she can't suppress .. she'll be never satisfied.. and of coz seeing that way, she'll never…
Yeah agree. After experiencing her terrible father, I think she doesn’t want to deal with a terrible MIL who ALSO makes dumb financial decisions and can’t be shaken off due to blood relations. Girl went through enough the first time around
Ughhh I have such mixed feelings about Jun Seo. On one hand, he really shouldn’t be butting into Ah Jin’s life without her consent. On the other hand, Ah Jin is reaping what she sowed by making him promise to be next to her forever, as a kid
This show is so hard to watch with no one to root for but the acting and directing are sooooo good
Kinda like when kdramas bring in random foreigners who act terribly / speak terrible English. But at least here they’re just being NPCs

At least that’s my read.
And the tension got me replaying some scenes over and over again hehe
But I should’ve commented more on the characters vs actors, since it’s the character of Mo Eun that I found more compelling. That’s on me
