I feel like part of the issue is her dubber — imo Zhou Ye’s acting seems fine but the dubber has a voice of false bravado. I’ve seen clips of Zhou Ye’s live acting voice for the show and it matches the “general” aura more.

I really like the mutual silent understanding they have in each other
- when ML didn’t take FL to leave the garrison in ep 13, FL knew she was supposed to guard it while he was away (I think he left her behind on purpose for that reason but maybe I’m overreading)
- FL held down the fort knowing ML wouldn’t fall for the enemy’s trap
- FL caused a big commotion while blind, in the corrupt minister’s courtyard, the second the ML ditched her, so he can secretly sneak into the sons room to look for the ledgers
- idk I feel like there were a bunch more

I was confused why FL was literally so clingy with the ML even before he said he knows she’s a woman, but based on novel readers’ comments, she has liked him since the academy days ~

Also she’s hiding behind him in some situations on purpose, to not reveal her true capability / identity

Cheng Lei’s eye expressions are on another level. Also he’s really good at subtle comedic scenes, which wasn’t something I expected

I have a whole list of issues with this show, but the plot makes just enough sense for me to not drop it, and the leads are killing it 😎

Super good watch so far! Really natural chemistry between the leads, and the humor is great (some might get lost in translation)
