Gave it one last chance and i’m over it .Not feeling either of the actors and the plot.Jiang TaoHua i will forever…
Yes 100% ! Ppl have been criticizing MZY’s acting (which im sure has room to improve), but I don’t think she was given much to work with? I’m a little behind, but they haven’t really shown much of JTH’s POV — she’s been mostly just playing a character to survive in a foreign country, which ends up with her putting on a facade the entire time. Without a confidante (her convos with Qing Tai are p surface level), it’s hard for MZY to showcase any real acting chops. Maybe she can work on her micro expressions, but I wanna say a lot of more experienced idol actors will prob have a hard time playing this too?
Have you read the novel? You might want to skip the works of the screenwriter if you are unimpressed by the drama…
Right I get why those points would be changed. But why change the fact that the Third Prince doesn’t like JTH / is lovers with the Empress (based on ppls comments), adding the village arc (which I personally didn’t like but to each their own), or adding the ML’s sister (which I think many ppl find annoying)

I’ve read a lot of comments surrounding the novel plot, and I’m so confused why the writer changed it for the worse??? A lot of it didn’t seem to be for censorship reasons
It depends. Liu Xue Yi is still carrying the drama with his usual superb understanding of his character. Meng…
Ty for the response! I think I’ll hold off for now. I’ve been a huge fan of MZY in her variety shows, so was hoping for her to start emoting more in the later eps. Doesn’t seem to be the case :(
At first I was pretty annoyed at how JTH is manipulating the ML’s feelings (regarding the arrow shot), but then I remembered how he tried to kill her in their first meeting and was ready to sacrifice her life to frame the CP. He wasn’t willing to sacrifice his other concubines / wives bc they have stronger political backing. Despite how his wife is the daughter of his literal enemy, he treats her with respect. So now I feel no pity toward him / whatever heartache he experiences. JTH is just reacting to his prior ruthlessness and doesn’t want to risk her life to come clean to him (rightfully so)
Wonder why the writing fell flat earlier, maybe Tencent forced the writer to create extra episodes lol
