One thing is very consistent about the Male lead...He likes to handle things on his own!! Poor thing madly wants to pursue the girl but deep inside he knows that HE IS PURSUING THE PATH OF REVENGE AND JUSTICE...he doesn't wanna burden her with the trauma. I get him. What is he supposed to tell her? "Hey, my ultimate goal in life is to get justice for my dad and put that destroy that betrayer sh**...whoever he is. JOIN ME.." i mean, he knows that he needs to deal with all of that sh** before he even thinks about romance.
