Your opinion on second lead actresses are so right. I hate that they're written that way that they have to be evil if they can't get their man. That's why I always love and always remember the second lea d actresses specially since no one cares or remember them. Moon Chae Won here, young actress Kim So Hyun in Moon Embracing the Sun, Kim Min Seo also in Moon Embracing the Sun, and Han Eun Jung in Full House. And I'm always happy and supportive when they actually got popular themselves (Moon Chae Won and Kim So Hyun).

Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In are the highlight in this drama.

You're the most talented in your age group (1987 liner) whether girl or boy. You're performance in Painter of the Wind is so good, you can convincingly pull off the role of a girl pretending to be a boy.

That's just acting. I know people are not a big fan of sageuks, but if you watch his historical dramas, you will like him more sinc ell his roles are different (from gay man to charismatic king).

This guy is super duper underrated. To this day, I can never understand and 100% believe that he did not deserve to be just second lead in Brilliant Legacy, especially considering who the lead guy is. Let's discuss it at that point in 2009, Bae Soo Bin had already been in 4 different sageuks (a harder genre to act in) that are all successful, all very different characters, meanwhile the lead guy there in Brilliant Legacy only had 2 acting credits before (I've seen one of those and I was not impressed by his acting as a 20 year old boy who got his friend pregnant). I know that other guy was a popular singer and great in variety shows, but we're talking about acting here, and only acting experience should have count. Such a big disservice to him, to this day I still wish he had a role where he ended up with Han Hyo Joo. I'm not being biased here, I also love Moon Chae Won a lot more than Han Hyo Joo at that point, but Han Hyo Joo deserved the lead role since she had more acting experience than Moon Chae Won at that point.

What could have been: Alternative Actresses for adult Heo Yeon Woo
1. Song Hye Kyo - say what you want about her acting, but I believe she's better than Han Ga In (she's nominated for Baeksang in That Winter the Wind Blows). She's also very pretty and cries prettily too which is I think enough for adult Yeon Woo character.
2. Han Hyo Joo - she and Kim Yoo Jung have the same vibe, she already played a girl sought after by two brothers in Iljimae and she obviously learned more about acting in Dong Yi so she would have been a good option too. She's also closer to the male leads age.
3. Moon Geun Young - she's a great actress, best among her age group, there's nothing else to say since she can really pull off the role. Like Hyo Joo, she's also close to the age of the male leads.
4. Moon Chae Won - I'm 100% sure she would not accept this drama if offered to her back then as she had just finished Princess Man, but it would have been epic for her to do this as well as she had already proven she can act as a lead in a romance sageuk. She's also close to the male lead's age like Hyo Joo and Geun Young
5. Han Ji Min - she may be older than the male leads, but her partnership with the male lead in Rooftop Prince (close age to male leads here) means she could have also pulled off great chemistry with them, she also had sageuk experience the years before, her pairing in Yi San was well liked by the people too.
6. Song Ji Hyo - same reasons as Han Ji Min, except the sageuk she did before was Jumong, Frozen Flower, and Gye Baek. She had fantastic chemistry with Song Joong Ki (a guy older than Moon Sun male leads but looks same age as them) so I'm sure she would have good acting and chemistry with male leads here

Finally someone who has the same opinion as me.

I actually requested them to change it, otherwise both Kim Yoo Jung and Lee Tae Ri should also be main leads, not to offend Kim So Hyun (she's my fave too), but even Lee Tae Ri has a bigger role than her here.

This is why Moon Chae Won is extremely underrated, she takes dramas which are more serious and requires greater acting skills.

If they would reunite, it would not be within the next year or 2, Song Joong Ki has to film Arthdal Chronicles season 2 and his movie in Colombia called Bogota. (And I personally don't want them too, they will be bashed because many people keep insisting they dated in the past, given SJK's divorce with a big name hallyu star I'm sure they will be bashed if they reunite again).

I'm not yet in the mood, but I'm really considering watching this because both main guys were paired with one of my fave actresses Moon Chae Won in other dramas and I just want to see them fight, bonus Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung are here too.

Is he really going to be in Tale of the nine-tailed? He wasn't in the script reading?

we don't rea;;y know, the possibilities are endless. I watched historical dramas even in 2006 when I was younger. In Jumong, both the main character and the villain guy wants the main girl, but she ended up marrying her bodyguard.

I doubt the actress of Doti will return, unless this drama moves forward 2 years

we don't know yet, drama confirmed season 2 but it was postponed due to covid. Although this part of the show is described as season 3 , this is actually only season 1.
Tanya could actually end up with Yangcha for all we know
