To be honest, he should have won best actor in Baeksang 2012 for his performance as King Sejong in Tree with Deep Roots. The winner there, who also played a king but his drama got 40% ratings, was much less impressive (in fact his childhood version was more impressive than him). Meanwhile, Han Suk Kyu's younger version Song Joong Ki was very impressive too, but Han Suk Kyu still managed to own the role of King Sejong once he took over.

You deserve to be known by new kdrama fans

I disagree on some (especially Ha Ji Won), but I'm giving you a heart because I 200% agree on Lee Min Ho.

There had been a lot of strong female leads even in the 2000s. It's just that they're not really popular because they were mostly in historical dramas. Examples of these include Chae Ok in Damo (2003 drama); Jang Geum in Jewel in the Palace (2003 drama); Hwang Jini in her drama (2006); Soseono and Yesoya in Jumong (2006 drama); Shin Yun Bok in Painter of the Wind (2008 drama), Deokman, Cheonmyeong Sohwa, and even the villain Mishil in Queen Seon Deok (2009 drama) among others.

One of my most favorite Korean actresses. I have so much respect for you, because you didn't just stick to romcoms for your fame and popularity. You showed so much talent in the difficult genre that is historical drama, and you even showed a lot of action scenes. My favorite of yours is Hwang Jini, Damo, and Empress Ki.

I may not agree on all in your list but I'm giving a heart because I also blacklisted Lee Min Ho, Suzy, Park Bo Gum, and maybe Lee Seung Gi (because he did not deserve to be a lead in Brilliant Legacy over Bae Soo Bin, who had already took very different roles in 3 successful historical dramas before by the time they made Brilliant Legacy in 2009)

I really want him and Chae Won to win best couple award at any show. Moon Chae Won is an expert at getting it. She got one for Painter of the Wind, Princess Man, Innocent Man, and Good Doctor. And her chemistry with Lee Joon Gi is far superior than with her partners in the mentioned dramas (I havent seen good doctor, but most people liked her most with her Innocent Man partner before so my point may be 100% right). Please win best couple and best actor and actress awards, Joon Gi and Chae Won

My favorite writer of all Kdrama writers. Salute to you <3. I hope you would cast Moon Chae Won in any future projects. Kim Yoo Jung or Kim So Hyun too. Waiting for Arthdal Season 2.

My favorite director. Love your work especially in Painter of the Wind and Tree with Deep Roots. Thank you for your great direction, helped me discover of then new stars (when they did your drama) like Song Joong Ki (Tree With Deep Roots--> I liked him before in Sungkyunkwan Scandal but this was what made me a real fan), Moon Chae Won (Painter of the Wind), Kim Yoo Jung (Painter of the Wind), Shin Se kyung (Tree With Deep Roots), Yeo Jin Goo (Tree With Deep Roots) and a getting to know more of more senior in acting stars like Moon Geun Young (Painter of the Wind), Ryu Seung Ryong (Painter of the Wind), Bae Soo Bin (Painter of the Wind), Jang Hyuk (Tree With Deep Roots), Han Suk Kyu (Tree With Deep Roots). I'm also the most impressed of your directing out of everything in My Love from the Star

Moon Chae Won? She was in recent drama Flower of Evil, it's really good. Other dramas of hers to be recommended are Innocent Man (with Song Joong Ki), Princess Man (kdrama where she won or was nominated most awards), and Painter of the Wind (she's a supporting character but her character is one of the most memorable aspects in the shows).

I know, but we are still not sure how it ended up that way, so there is still a lot of possibilities on what could have happened to Tanya or Eunseom/Saya before they meet.

Fantastic drama! Great actors! Lee Joon Gi for Daesang, Moon Chae Won for best actress, LJG and MCW for best couple, best director, best screenplay, are all the awards this show must win. Salute to the supporting casts and crew as well.

Finished watching Flower of Evil yesterday. I can't believe it! You were always a great actress, but you exceeded my expectations with your performance. And your talent of creating magical chemistry with your costar is still intact. I will not accept if you and your costar will not win best couple awards and other acting awards.

I'm really super overdue in watching that drama. (will watch as soon as I have time). I commented somewhere in mydramalist that I've often been seeing the poster of that drama since I watched Painter of the Wind ages ago. Actors that I've discovered from that drama throughout the years include Kim Yoo Jung in 2008/9 (POTW), Han Hyo Joo in 2009/10 (Shining inheritance, Dong Yi), Park Shi Hoo in 2011 (Princess Man), Yeo Jin Goo in 2015 (Moon Embracing the Sun and Missing You), and now Lee Joon Gi (Flower of Evil). (find it funny that the way I discovered them is by watching dramas of Painter of the Wind casts such as Bae Soo Bin, Moon Chae Won, Kim Yoo Jung. Will certainly watch Iljimae soon.

The King in Painter of the Wind is also in Shining Inheritance, if you liked him in Shining Inheritance, that might also be another reason you might want to watch Painter of the Wind.

for me, it's the way many fans thinks she's the Level Superior of Korean actresses and the fact that she won Daesang for My Love from the Star when I find her performance in it just average (the role is not challenging) . Ha Ji Won and Moon Chae Won are both actresses I find better than her (but does not get the same amount of fame). I don't know about her movies though (though I found her performance just average on the few clips I've watched of her movie with Kim Soo Hyun). Just my opinion.

The ending of Painter of the Wind is open to interpretation. It depends on how you think what the main character does after the ending and which of the characters linked to her is the one you want her to be with.
