pssst dont tell anyone but this kdrama is actually a LOT better than others .... where FL is in trouble like 100% all the time... this one is not bad at all in comparison... ... !!! and yeah why WOULD she go to the place where someone pushed her in...

This kind of opinion always make me laugh, ML is straight up 1 dimensional character and gets praised, this surely…
Honey pie I wrote you a response that's too long so I put it under a spoiler. I ask you to reread my post. I wrote robot, obsessive tyrant, etc. So why do you even think I praised him? Clearly, he IS a 1-dimensional cartoon character. Bc he is so simple, he is a representation of one side of ourselves and it is easy to spot what we like about him - he is like a Superman. He is like a role model as to what to aspire to - we all like to see healthy capable guys with a job, integrity, and positive relationships. Let him INSPIRE you a litle bit like a Superman would, something like that...

Personally I like Phantom and that cartoon has influenced my life, but now as an adult, I find that cartoon super racist and colonialistic and am horrified, but still the IDEA of some dude sitting out there in the woods and secretly doing good deeds was an INSPIRING IDEA to me.

So dont let him drag you down and feel lesser, let this cartoon character INSPIRE you :) Maybe go to the gym or wear your best clothes or buy some flowers to someone you like or be a gentleman in some way. BE INSPIRED

well seems like my post missed you. I said he is like a robot and too perfect to be true and an obsessive tyrant. Dont get too emotional fast and reread the post calmly. I was NOT praising him :) I was very sly about mixing praises and vile criticism. The ML is clearly a cartoon character. He is unreal, for real LOL There are some things to look up to from this ML but why would you feel so .... personally hit about it. I think this Perfect Prince Charming reminds us all that it is always necessary to do some exercise and be healthy, to be clean and groomed and dressed nicely and attractive, and to have some income, and to have integrity and friends. That is his role. To inspire us all to some higher standards. And he is a fun inspiration. But he is a cartoon character. So just treat him like that. He reminded me of other kdramas with exemplary male lead characters who are REAL, like My Father is Strange, or My Mister, or Discovery of Love, or Love Scout, Famiilar Wife, Sorry but not Sorry, My Wife is Going to Hawe an Affair this week, Five Enough, etc etc etc all the way to the priest in Love Divine LOL those are real guys from real life and they are quite outstanding role models. Not perfect by any means like this Prince Charming :) but bc of their flaws they are more interesting to watch, bc they GROW during the drama..... so anyways, I wasnt praising this Obsessive Tyrant Prince Charming as a perfect dude. Reread my post. I was super offensive to him in a passive-agressive way LOL as I praised OTHERS :) But this Prince character is fine too... in his own way. For a fluffy cartoon comedy drama it is ok. Just notice this drama went through so much bad stuff but the angle is always light and comical and so it is very uplifting and unique and refreshing. The angels fly bc they take themselves lightly. So my dear one, dont feel bad if you dont look chiseled and have a prince title and wallet and 10000 women competing to be selected. But take a few tips from Mr. Perfect :)

I AM MAKING THIS INTO SPOILER BC IT IS TOO LONG :)

nope she isnt, did you see that scene where she gives money to the dude to kill

She wants the Prince, power, so people won’t be able to “look down” on her
it took me a while for it to sink in but the "weak" are often the most wicked. Do you remember that movie Zootopia where the villain was the tiny sheep? Same here. The low worm wants to climb up by any means..

what specifically bothers you? Is it only too much bed scenes?

without spoling too much i wanna know what the webtoon characters and time period is like please ?!?!
English victorian era would explain why the prince is like 25 and a virgin, and also his strict standards of having to marry after sex, and not wanting concubines
On The First Night with the Duke Jul 3, 2025
The ML is ah so perfect. Like a robot... Like a soldier... well he is a soldier LOL ... :) Practically all kdrama MLs are very exemplary guys and dream partners - all those handsome guys who dont lie, dont cheat, doggedly stay committed next to their woman, and are always there to help - omg yeah! - well typically after she melts his frozen heart, that is.... ) So there are TONS AND TONS of great kdrama male leads
but this one is more perfect than usual. Probably bc we never see his real life. What actually makes him this way. Does he have any flaws except being an obsessive tyrant?

FYI I learned that kdrama Male Leads created lots of female tourism as women travel to S Korea to find their perfect oppa - thinking that where there is smoke there must be fire, if kdramas promote those values in men, there MUST be some guys really like that out there... Well,.... ARE there????

I'm having a hard time rating this drama. I know it's still ongoing, but my currently watching score would be…
Yeah this is young adults fluff and hormones. The good thing is, it is uplifting vibe and a competent FL so whew, no damsels in distress!!!. As for plots, they are typical but still unique. There are some heavy things being worked out, like marriages, survival, politics, murders, class status, etc. It is not all fun but the drama presents it from the fun angle.

i'm always on the fence when it comes to seohyun's works, she keeps picking projects with good ideas but bad execution.…
that means that cdramas have bad / simple plot that keeps repeating in all dramas bc it is impossible to invent a brand new story every month

epi 7 was good but i am confused was she eun ae who pushed seon chaek in the water and what if she did puch her…
It seems like she was not happy that he ditched her at the party and I wasnt sure if she is lying - remember when she thought to herself, nothing is predetermined...

yeah the prince is 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 so unreal... He is more perfect than a typical kdrama ML, who is near-perfect... IS THERE another super extra perfect one like that??? sometimes MLs have the looks and the money and some clout, like in Familiar Wife (at the end LOL), Love Scout, Discovery of Love, CrashLanding on YOu, and often minus the money and the looks LOL in kdrama My Mister, Five Enough, My Father is Strange, even in For Eagle Brothers; or you can have the looks but not the brains in Pump up Healthy Love, etc. Kdramas are FULL of super extra exemplary guys who dont cheat, dont lie, dont steal, stay doggedly next to their woman, keep saving her out of endless stupid things she does, keep funding her and taking care of her..... So this prince isnt quite special except that he is TOOOOOO PERFECT :) like a robot.... TO think of it, ML in Haunted Palace was so refreshing bc he wasnt all nice LOL but he did become nice at the end. He wasnt stupidly abusive with a doormat FL like Full House... I think this kdrama is refreshing bc the FL is so spunky and independent and capable

In just 7 episodes, there have been more bedroom scenes (real/imagined/flashbacks/etc.) than in many 40-60 episode…
I feel cheated for plot. Bedtime just consumes time for nothing. We all know what it looks like :) and why watch someone else when one has their own life and all that.... It is rather unpleasant to spy on people in private moments, like watching ppl on the toilet LOL
So I rather see the real plot. For example, I want to see how that prince LIVES. What makes him so stoic?

Could anyone spoil for me whether they get married? I have been craving more shows about married people lately.PS…
Please be specific about exactly WHAT you want about marriage. There is anything from "The World of the married" kdrama with soapy scandals or current "Queen's house" 30mins 100 episodes soapy soap but moving fast and having quite a few interesting marriages,
all to way to serious psychological horror and thrillers like Flower Of Evil relationship between a policewoman and an antisocial son of a serial killer, in a very very happy marriage until.... or "Queen of Tears" about the reverse case.....
and then stuff in between, like fun "Familiar Wife" about staying married happily, or "Five Enough" about remarrying later with 5 kids and 3 sets of in-laws..... And anything in between!!!!

I like Discovery of love (light but ah so effective about resolving slimey comfortable relationships and cheating), Love Scout (how productive adults do it - that kdrama is better than any psychoterapy or self help books... ), Haunted Palace (how crazy deities and shamans do it - they are not technically married but they kinda live together, have to work very close, and kick some demons' as@ and then marry), My adjushi (very very dark divorce and middle age crisis and poverty and abuse), This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair (very "suburbia" story of a "normal couple" after many years of marriage, she cheats and they work it out)

A recent Netflix series "Divorce Insurance" was a great overview of different kinds of marriages and what works and what doesnt and how couples resolve it. It is actually helpful :)

I plan to watch "It's ok that's love" where one of the pair has mental illness

Ah the Italian movie "Perfect Strangers." The original is THE BEST. Kdrama is not as good. But that is the really really dark side of the marriage :) where everything is based on lies. Italians are masters at that :) bc of catholic church
