I totally missed the 16 year thing :) I just know that Stella's son died and CEO Min is responsible for it. I had no idea who the father was. Somehow I thought her son was quite young when he died, like a teenager. But it makes sense. Stella looks like she is 40-60 yrs old so her son was old enough to make SeRi. I find this kdrama so fun! I realized that is bc the FL is NOT a dumb damsel in distress but a vibrant competent person so the plot is a lot more varied and fun. And, I need some quick education here bc I binge watched 7 episodes so seems like I missed some stuff. It seems to me that ex-FL EUN AE actually wanted the Prince Charming for herself. Bc she fainted at the drinking, etc. I see some ppl claim SHE pushed the new FL into the pond. We did not see the face but the shoes and the scar. Later we saw the scar on the Psycho Do Hwa. SO WHAT KIND OF BAD STUFF DID EUN AE ACTUALLY DO?
As for the prince, he has a facial expression of ... ML from "Crashlanding on you" or equivalent, the classic poker face of a soldier

Yeah he is handsome and he has nice teeth and a nice smile. Even in his drama it is clear he is handsome and yes the smile makes it even more so I am from Hawaii so unless I see teeth in a smile, I dont feel comfortable :)
Mi Ran is a very complex character, and the actress is excellent, Mi Ran seems like a real person, I don't see acting. So the complexity about Mi Ran is that she is actually trying to do GOOD things. She worries about YL and $$$$ and her son, she is like a little YL robot programmed to just do things for YL and $$$$.
For example: what IF she gave her baby willingly to the old chairman so that YL could have a boy to inherit the company? Her marriage to that politician - was it bc YL needed some favors and connections...?
So while she is trying to do those good things for YL because YL $$$$ is THE ONLY thing that matters, she is blind, she is rash, she is a tunnel vision person, and she harms Jae In bc she is a competition to HER son for the throne.... and she thinks she has the Mr and Ms Satan under her control .... lol Ah they are gonna bite her sweet as$...
Mi Ran is a bad manager, bad leader and a bad CEO. She could think hey Jae In could be an ally to my son on the throne... But thinking like that isnt even an option to her. Mi Ran sees only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and ONLY ONE PERSON ON THE TOP. THat is her problem. Mi Ran is trained by very aggressive ppl.
the rush to grab YL is gonna be FUN!!!!! SR married GC to get YL, GC killed and imprisoned a few ppl to get it, .... so the three devils are gonna be fighting for that bone like crazy.... slimey liar anaconda Se Ri that just wraps around victims and hyptonizes them with her lying... then the aggressive killer GC .... who has no idea the snake wrapped around him but has some hints something is off LOL ........ and the naive goody goody prim and proper Mi Ran trying to be a good YL family person in charge... ...
But Mi Ran is not evil like the other two .... because she honestly TRIES to do good things for YL. And then she fails miserably bc she is SO OUT OF BALANCE. She forgets that her son is beyond just money, that he and JI have a loving relationship and THAT is precious, .... Mi Ran cannot see any of that, she just wants competition to the top $$$$$
I really hope YG won’t return to that ass of a husband and evil mil! Maybe she can get some redemption and help…

I think the aunt actress is stellar, the aunt seems a real person, I never see any acting. So yeah that character is very easy to hate bc everything about her seems so real and believable, and it is pretty heavy complex character - she is TRYING to do what she believes is right, she behaves like YL robot, but she is so brainwashed and confused and blind that nothing works....
The FL "says" she doesn't want to go with the rich lady who's going to help her get revenge, only to then head…
Someone above (Ivangla) wrote a super good post about why all that was necessary for her to hear over and over again and really SEE what devils she is facing. She judt didnt get it until she was pushed to the wall...

Yeah we dont know what happened in NYC.... but we saw the inch-by-inch transformation in Korea... from a dumbo emotional freak to a determined woman who went to the airport to start a new life... we saw her transform from running around like a chicken without the head banging on the wall of evil..... and then slooowly slooooowly .... from what she saw, she came to the point to accept the plane ticket and decide to go to NYC... and then again ... in that day went through so much and learned so much about who the Devils are and that transformed her - she decided to literally grab the wheel in her hands and steer herself to freedom and then fight them ....
so yeah, we actually saw her transform. The wheel scene is when she made her FIRST full transformation and became determined and grounded and very very clear and ready to fight. So yeah, we saw her transform from a total loser to a woman who KNOWS what she wants and is ready to do it... ... during the 17 episodes in Korea
I think we dont need to see how she transformed in NYC bc that's NYC.... :) Maybe we might have some flashes :) but the drama wont be filmed in NYC :)
The post below where someone wrote about the necessity of all those dumb scenes where irrational dumb Mom goes back to talk to the criminals and then gets to hear them speak about the incident - I realize Mom needed to hear it over and over again until she finally GOT IT - she finally realized the criminals are pure devils...
That post was so well written and made me think that yeah Mom transformed on the spot.... and where and how? I thought about the scene in the car where Lawyer kidnapped Mom and she took the wheel and ran away
The more I think about that scene ... wow that was an INSTANT transformation... Finally what the devils were saying to her the entire time clicked in and she MADE A DECISION right there on the spot. Gods are always on the side of those who are determined. She survived the car accident she caused and ran away. This is a powerful powerful lesson about the power of determination.
Mom started that decision in the hotel room when she decided to go to NYC, when she remembered the psychopath Se Ri describing the pleasure of torturing Mi So... BUT STILL that decision wasnt really strong solid etc, did not CHANGE her.... she was still a headless chicken ... did not even tell Stella that some dude told her on the phone he was holding her sister hostage!!!!! that was the same old dumb.... running over there to say hi to her hostaged sister.... !!!!!!! soooo suicidal...
But then finally it clicked in the car, when she personally got threatened with living in jail for the rest of her life...
And that lawyer, wow that is Mr Devil too.... totally fit for them.....

I was getting so frustrated with the cheap script and LUCKILY it quickly ended so I realized it was for the reasons you mentioned and to show the contrast, how those moments made her make a decision and transform into someone solid on her feet, and then the increasing contrast as she kept transforming
