Aaahh.. I thought so that "most feel badly when someone innocent (or apologetically weak) are brutalized by a group of evil people" and then I found out by experience that is not so. I agree with everything you posted except that "some comments act as if her naivety is what made them mean-spirited". I never saw any such comments. It is very clear to everyone here that all villains were obviously not kind-hearted before meeting her. The comments were about her dumb behavior allowing these bad ppl unchecked reign.

Why are you calling Jae In a victim? Jae In is surely not a victim, bc she SAW with her own eyes what was happening and heard from others, and still CHOSE to ignore it... How can she be a victim when it was her choice to act the way she did? Are you such a "victim"? Are you enabling such a "victim"? Also, there are no victims, per law of karma. It takes two to tango....

I agree with you that the root causes are in her family... Also, Jae In is an adult now, a mother, and she SAW with her own eyes and heard from others, so she really has no excuse to behave like this ignorantly

I agree with you, she is not doing bad things out of malice and is not evil or a villain. HOWEVER, she is doing bad things out of ignorance and is passively helping the evil to happen, so she is INDIRECT VILLAIN.

I totally agree with comments that state the obvious - villains are always villains and will always try and will often enough succeed. They are just like mice or bad bacteria, WILL somewhere somehow find a hole and enter in. Also, it is true that the world is not overtaken by it because we self defend :) We try to not be that one hole that the villains can enter :) WE TAKE DUE CARE AND DUE DILIGENCE. In other words, BEING VIGILANT, PAYING ATTENTION.

And whoever does not, is acting as an indirect villain, allowing the villains to reign unchecked.

There is true evil, those who intentionally act out of malice, and then indirect villains, who enable the evil ones and thus indirectly but realistically cause harm to others AS IF they were true villains.

If you SEE the sign "danger: high risk of fire" and someone TELLS you that it is high risk of fire, AND you STILL hold a party there, drinking, smoking and drunkenly throwing matches and cigarette buts around, because you were conditioned to party and have fun, AND you cause a huge fire and damage of $1 million and people burned and died, then... are you a victim, or perpetrator? Are you evil? Are you a villain? Perhaps we cannot say that, bc you did not intentionally cause the fire out of malice, HOWEVER, you definitely are an indirect villain, causing major problems. just like Jae In.

To be precise, we are supposed to keep trying to our best ability and knowledge at the moment. Occasional failure is inevitable. We are supposed to learn from mistakes and improve. That is a basic survival instinct and karmic duty. If we do NOT do this, we PAY. Parents especially are responsible for being vigilant for the sake of their kids.

For example: let's say you have $1,000,000 in cash in your house. Will you POST a sign on your open door that there is $1 mil inside? Nope. You will at least keep the door closed :) and probably will have a safe and a security system. IF even with all those measures, your money disappears, then you will still ... use police, insurance, etc to get your money back.

Let's say you wash your hands regularly with soap and water. And let's say that one time, you are out in the jungle, you had the runs and just pooed out there, and there is no soap, no water nor sanitizer, nothing, and your hands are dirty. It is noon now, you are hungry, and you grew up conditioned that you must eat at noon. In a short time, you will be taken out of the jungle to soap, water and food. What will you do, eat now with dirty hands, or wait?

Let's say that there is this person who REFUSES to heed common sense, eats with dirty hands, promptly gets a raging cholera, then has to be evacuated by a rescue team with helicopters from 100 miles away in the jungle, causes $1,000,000 rescue bill and an outbreak of cholera and even a pandemic, infects so many people and some even die.
THAT PERSON IS JAE IN. THAT IS HOW SHE BEHAVED.

So to say that she is a victim of the circumstances... is delusional. She called it in. Regardless of her conditioning, she should have TRIED to think on her feet.

Jae In willingly ignored all signs that she saw and heard with her own eyes, and everything she was told by her mother and SIL. She did not think of her son, of her company, of herself. She just stuck to her rosey glasses BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER AND NOT PAINFUL.

Jae In is like those 3 monkeys, no see, no hear, no act... AND THAT MAKES HER AN INDIRECT VILLAIN. She allows evil to flourish.

Regardless of her conditioning, she is supposed to KEEP TRYING to act as an adult and be responsible to keep evil under control. She is supposed to be TAKING STEPS in that direction, and she is NOT, willingly she is NOT. That makes her an indirect villain. And also, a bad mother. If she herself is going to suffer, ok, so be it, but to ignore harm to her child is very irresponsible.

yeah kdramas often make plot of passive brainless FL like this. But that is terrible sexism :) And now we have a FL who is a super bad case of this disease of being brainless... and so... she will have to work super hard to fix it.

There are no victims, there is no neutral karma, you either are doing a bad thing or a good thing. The key is TRYING to do a good thing. Sometimes we make mistakes and what looks good is actually bad and vice versa but we need to keep trying to do the right thing....
This is all tricky and requires the heart to discern what is right and what is wrong :) But in this case it is very clear... Jae In saw with her own eyes kissing and MIL lies, and she STILL ignored it. Her mother warned her, her SIL warned her.... Still.. Jae In was yelling YOBO! tied to the bed after her Cheater TOLD HER off.....

IN SUMMARY: JAE IN IS AN ADULT NOW AND HAS EYES, EARS AND BRAIN and should be trying to use them... .
Jae In is an indirect villain and guilty herself, her dumbness aka WILLING DENIAL OF REALITY has caused death and suffering of so many people. So karmically, she has to pay for it.

And yeah, the Doctor is mean to want to harm anyone, and really dumb and greedy to want to harm TWO people... If he wants revenge, he should attack in productive ways the culprit directly, not her daughter... For example, why doesn't the Doctor become an influencer who exposes the Mom and similar? Also the Doctor is dumb to even think that hurting Jae In would hurt her mother - he should be smart enough to realize that evil ignorant people like her mother could care less for others and will ditch any aliance at the first sign of inconvenience!!!!! and yeah he is misusing his doctor position.

So the Doctor and Jae In are indirectly villains. The Doctor is slightly smarter and has less mistakes to fix. Jae In is in dire karmic debt :) and will have to work hard to fix the huge mess she caused.

Ah you make me think. Indeed what you said is correct. BUT there is no evidence of her giving him money. So he can take the money and still sue her later?

but the drama is MADE on their lack of self respect :) That is why I like dramas that deal with finer issues of lack of self respect

Yeah but Jae In's willing denial of reality DID cause death and suffering so she IS karmically responsible for it and HAS TO clean up. She is indirectly responsible for death of Doctor's sis. The Doctor himself is also acting in bad ways, trying to revenge in a really really stupid way

As for domestic violence, dont be fooled, if a person is STILL in it, if they are choosing to be in it, they are also an indirect villain. REGARDLESS IF THEY HAVE BEEN CONDITIONED THAT WAY, if they are an adult and not taking steps to overcome, they are creating bad karma.

The bottom line is, there is no neutral karma, and any willing refusal of denial to move in the positive direction is just creating bad karma.

Yeah good liars can fool anyone, but Jae In SAW proofs of their lies and still chose not to see it. That makes her an indirect villain, allowing the villains to reign unchecked.

There is a difference in being naive BEFORE you are shown, and being "naive" AFTER you see evidence. Jae In saw her husband kissing, she saw what her MIL did, and her mother and SIL warned her. AND Jae In refused to open her eyes, open her ears, and act. That is a terrible karma and Jae In is acting as indirect villain.

Even if Jae In was the smartest person and just got fooled by liars, THAT is bad karma too, and she has to pay for it, it just would be less bad karma to pay.

The bottom line is, there is nothing karmically neutral ...
