yeah. in a 10 episode drama there is no time to show character development and there is no time for any side stories and many actors. That is why I like 50 episode family dramas. There is time to develop. Also, these new 10-episode things require coming up with new stories and new characters so often so the creativity and uniquness of characters will just disappear

OK so the question is - can Se Ri pull it off while staying at home? Must she move out? If so, where to? Imo: NO way mama girl can use Prof as sugar daddy and go to him.. she MUST show up in front of him as an independent adult woman or else he will just ditch her as frivolous... and she cannot go to Bom since Geyoul is there?... so ... she would have to find another place to crash or go back home. Well Chairman can put her up at (SOME OTHER???) hotel or motel too...
But I am not worried. She got a college diploma and she is smart and capable.

SeRi's mom is a terrible pimp, but she raised Se Ri with genuine love and care and that's why Se Ri is not mentally off. She is just entitled and rather spoiled child. That's why she feels entitled to grab baby videos and just SHOW UP at Prof's house and clean it etc... she is used to having everything she wants... but she has changed and grown.. now she only needs a job and income... and she is all set!!!!...
Her mom was so pretty in pink when talking to her kid. I noticed NO red lipstick :) She is a pimp but has some decency in her. How she treated the kid was so moving.

PS - THis is so fun, the comments on this page imo are a lot more sophisticated, mature and astute then on many other drama pages :) I enjoy "psychoanalysis" and dissecting the drama to minute details, and reading ideas here, I learn :)

She FIRST had the kid, went to work there to take care of him, and THEN she embezzled - there was scenes from the past, at the start of one of the episodes

Sila mom explained it before - the dad ... lost his job at the construction? or died? left her too... ??? I canot remember... something like that.... I think she was speaking to someone ... who was it..? . it was scenes from the past at the start of one of the episodes...

Yeah, you are right! you made me think now. Indeed, the quirky characters are there to add the seasoning. And we remember them too :) So now that makes me wonder and ponder - how much quirky is just the right amount of "seasoning" before the audience decides they hate too quirky....? where is the fine line of adding enough spice without making it so strong that people puke from it... and drop the drama... ... Well I will think about this now :)

I totally agree with you. Going to Bom is a good choice but Geyol is there so better not. Going to Professor is out of question. SO - hopefully Se Ri has another friend from school or maybe some relative we dont know about. Or ... a homeless shelter LOL ??? She can pull it off, she has a backelor's degree and she is smart and capable

I love what you wrote here bc that imo is the crux of the issue. Se Ri has no money, no job, no experience, and no place to go. SHE CANNOT go to Professor bc that is premature and shameful and inappropriate, they are not a pair and he is not responsible for her running away and it would be totally wrong and scandalous to take her in. SHE CAN GO TO HER FRIEND BOM'S HOUSE. But then she runs into Geyol (I am butchering the spelling of his name now, sorry). SO ... she will have to figure something out. I dont think she has family. Maybe she has friends from school. SHE HAS A COLLEGE DEGREE ALREADY AND SHE IS SMART, CAPABLE, HARD WORKING AND A NICE SOCIABLE PERSON so I am sure she can make it. Yeah its nott gonna be easy but she has no other choice if she wants the Prof. She cannot be his second child to raise and take care of and support...

Se Ri is also a classical case of a "spoiled brat" coddled mama girl - that issue is present anywhere :) even in the modern world. Her parents just controlled her as the only child. LUCKILY her parents must have loved her properly to some degree bc she is not damaged and she is a functional and spunky adult. I think her maturity now is thanks to love of her mother who - although a monster who married her off - also was a giving and competent loving mother - well TOO loving she controlled every Se RI's breath LOL BUT REST ASSURED, CONTROLLING "THE ONLY CHILD" IS VERY COMMON
esp if the child is male - they get ROTTEN spoiled

Chairman behaved as a typical person in love - THE PROCESS IS CALLED "TAMING" :) just like the Little Prince and the Fox ..... he came close as a friend so that he could spend time with her and get closer to her - and he made sure! he picked flowerd out of her hair, sat next to her, took her to eat, etc etc etc so they DID become friends and she got used to his company and started liking him - and THEN he came out of the closet when he judged she knows him enough, is comfortable with him, and likes him, and it was safe. He was doing well!!!! He did not come out until he saw her fan herself like crazy. That is normal. Every hunter does that :) Chairman did not want to scare CEO Ma.

Like it or not, the student-teacher plot is a REAL PLOT that happens in real life. A lot.

Se Ri cannot stay in the house bc her family keeps doing crazy things and pulling strings on her. SHE HAS TO BECOME INDEPENDENT. Only then can she marry a guy with a baby. SHE HAS TO GROW UP and become independent first.

The conflicts in this show get resolved quikly with people who are mature enough and brave enough and COMMUNICATE. Notice that the loser Dancer did not resolve much yet :) and Chairman is already on the dates... bc the Chairman communicates clearly and gets things done. Se Ri is very similar to him actually
