I predicted everything with the coma, the nurse, and the friend. crazy lol. the previews are deceiving so I am…
1. 50/50 chance they pull a Segye kid sighting 2. There are two souls in one body. Most of these type of shows says that's a no no. Question is how are they gonna resolve it. There a few options common to the genre and none of them are good for the happiness of the main leads. Save the one where Dansim's soul wins. But I don't think they are gonna do that. It doesn't seem like it anyway.
Which is why I stopped watching because I saw that writing on the wall. I'll wait 'till it's finished to see if…
My Boyfriend is Cupid is a good example of a romcom that stayed funny throughout even with a serial murder subplot. No total shifts. And there was plenty at stake.

The soul swapping isn't the issue. I've said as such multiple times. But they kept piling on with the drama/problems when there were plenty to deal with. The soul swap, the engagement, Mundo - that's all that was needed. But nope. Here comes the extra BS and tonal shifts. Let it be a romcom. It's okay.
So, still trending toward a reincarnation drama but seems like they want to re-imagine the trope a bit. Still don't see how OG Seori doesn't show up completely at this point. Too much time is being spent on her for her not to. Now whether they do a (full) amnesia bit (I still think it's likely) or they merge the souls (seems like this may be possible) is the question. Not gonna like - there are still answers from the past life left up in the air, so I'd be surprised if OG Dansim doesn't go back there too - in 3 episodes.
Damn I'm confused af about this soul switching things: There are two bodies - Danshim in Joseon and Seori in Seoul…
It's trending toward a reincarnation drama - which means unless they completely subvert the trope Dansim has to disappear and whether or not she "goes back" is a detail yet to be determined.

Sigh. No. I want tonal consistency. You can have "drama" that's in line with the genre. Recent k-dramas want to sell you on romcom and end you with melodrama. Romcoms have their own rules about what kind of "drama" is acceptable for the gene. This isn't it. That's a BIG difference from sunshine and rainbows.
this went from comedy to rom-com to serious angst melodrama
Which is why I stopped watching because I saw that writing on the wall. I'll wait 'till it's finished to see if it's worth finishing, but I signed up for funny NOT melodrama.
The plot of this drama differs from the novel; there's no such thing as a young emperor. The emperor in the novel…
"then immediately resigned from his position because he wanted to go traveling alone with his wife," - this could potentially explain a couple ending scenes in the MV - they've clearly changed a lot from the novel - do you think they keep this kind of ending or something similar or go in a completely diff direction based on what you've seen so far?
use a spoile tag next time and @Ti02 i summon you for the hundredth time
Spoiler tag for what? There is no spoiler there. Even the answer isn't a spoiler b/c the book and show are so different? But at least if you complained about the response - if there was one - you'd have a point.
Book readers...who ends up emperor in the book? Does the little annoying emperor keep his throne? Is their a change? Seems like Prince Li is gonna make a play?
My guess is the crown prince was assassinated and the Prince Li was supposed to die on Lishan Mountain but maybe…
She's also not the initial Empress. There was another one when she was just the concubine. She sees ruthless enough that she would have the previous Crown Prince deposed or assassinated, leaving her son in line for the throne. We know Li is still alive, if the Academy backed him and refused to back her and her son...well...

Yeah I had a theory that maybe the Academy backed his ascension (or maybe even his dad's) over the Dowager's and that's where a lot of the conflict lies.
